Jack and Anna

Jack and Anna is among the best short films I've experienced. I used the word 'experienced' because in my mind incredible films pull you in and make you feel the range of emotions that the characters in the film feel as you watch. This is one of those films. Grab a Kleenex, you'll need it.

Ksenia Ivanova, is an amazing director. I had the great fortune to watch Jack and Anna. A story of love and story of adversity. The production value and Art Direction are simply stunning. Keep an eye out for this talented Director!

Jack and Anna, directed by the incredibly talented Ksenia Ivanova, tells the tragic true story of a woman who is persecuted for cross-dressing in the early 1900's. This beautifully made film is made with such heart and sensitivity, it's hard to believe how much Ivanova is able to bring the characters to life in just 15 minutes. Unlike with many short film, the audience is left wanting more - a true testament to Ksenia's brilliance and storytelling ability! It's no wonder Jack and Anna WON the Audience Choice Award at the 2020 Blackbird Film Festival!

This was a beautiful story and had great cinematography. It is a period piece about two women who were hiding their same sex marriage in America in the 1900's. In this short film, there's a lot to think about.
