Brit horror Paintball Massacre sees a bunch of old school friends go on a paintball trip miles away from civilization. Things go horribly wrong when they discover that not only are their old school “friends” playing the game but also a cold-blooded masked killer…

High school reunions in movies never go right do they? Be it comedy or horror, school reunions tend to feature people harbouring unforgiven betrayals, long-standing hatreds, and stir up emotions that many have buried deep, forgetting the traumas of school life until they come face to face with people long-since forgotten. Its even worse when one of the class mates has turned into a total psychopath and want to take hatred of their school “friends” to a whole new level.

Christmas may be over, but this coming week will still deliver a lot of gifts in terms of new Netflix releases. The streaming giant has got a bunch of titles arriving over the last couple days of the year and then it’s dropping more than 40 fresh releases on New Year’s Day. We’ve only got a few weeks left of 2020, so we might as well start looking ahead to 2021. When it comes to new arrivals dropping on Netflix in January, it’s too early to get our hands on a full list at this stage, but a small amount of titles have already been announced, including a bunch of newly licensed movies that’ll be added on the first of the month as well as a couple of much-anticipated originals that are on the way throughout the rest of January.

On New Year’s Day, Netflix is delivering a number of classic 2000s films. A couple of them are Christmas flicks, too, so make sure to squeeze those in just before the festive season officially ends. We have a brand new trailer for Paintball Massacre. Given the state of movie theaters right now, moviegoers are going to be left with precious few options throughout the rest of 2020. At least compared to any normal year. As such, we are going to largely be left with what is available to stream from the comfort of home. The folks at Uncork'd Entertainment are providing us with a rather unique option here, as we are getting a horror movie centered around a game of paintball. Per the studio, viewers need to "get ready for a deadly family reunion!"

The trailer kicks off with a group of former school friends getting together for a reunion, though there is some skepticism amongst them. They then decide to arrange for a game of paintball, of all things, with one member of their group particularly uninterested in the idea. But she goes along with it anyway.

Lionsgate UK has added revenge thriller London Heist to its home entertainment slate.

The deal was done between Lionsgate and producers Impact Entertainment. U.S and Latin America rights were acquired by Grindstone.

Craig Fairbrass stars as a career criminal on a mission for revenge after he learns of his father’s brutal murder. The cast also includes James Cosmo (Game Of Thrones), Steven Berkoff (A Clockwork Orange), Nick Moran (Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels) and Mem Ferda (The Devil’s Double) .

Exclusive: Metrodome tools up for feature version of $20m (£14m) heist.

The Enfield Expendables could become a reality in the near future as UK distribution and sales outfit Metrodome moves into development on a feature film based on last year’s Hatton Garden raid - a heist that saw thieves make off with $20m (£14m) in jewels.

Metrodome is among backers of The Hatton Garden Job (working title), which is due to be produced by Mark Harris (Abducted) and Ben Jacques (London Heist) from Simon Cluett’s (Age Of Kill) original script.

Producers are currently in talks with lawyers about gaining life rights and on screen representation rights to those involved in the heist.

Cast and a director have yet to be attached but the production is hoping to shoot in spring. Metrodome will handle UK distribution.

Italy-based John Buffalo has arrived as sales and acquisitions consultant and will travel to Canada with Noeltner’s Cinema Management Group (Cmg) team.

Buffalo spent the past 11 years in Italy working most notably with Italian International Film and Moviemax Media Group and has acquired such titles as Fury, Drive and Redacted.

Prior to moving to Italy, Buffalo began his career with Discovery Communications and joined Discovery Networks International for seven years when it launched a global network of channels.

UK finance outfit Red Rock Entertainment and actor-producer Craig Fairbrass’s (Get Lucky) Impact Entertainment are to collaborate for the third time on action-thriller Cartel, which is in development.

Outside Bet and Bonded By Blood director Sacha Bennett is due to direct the Puerto Rico-based story about a military policeman (Fairbrass) who clashes with a local cartel while investigating the murder of a priest.

The deal was negotiated by Red Rock Entertainment’s Gary Collins and Impact Entertainment’s Luke Fairbrass.

Collins said: “We are delighted to be partnering again with Impact Entertainment; working with them has been seamless and are very excited about Cartel’s International appeal.”

As you all know, I am a huge fan of the directorial work of Jessica Cameron, and loved her first feature film, Truth or Dare (review). Cameron is finishing up the final edit of Mania (Produced by Mem Ferda, Gunned Down, Pusher), her second feature as a director, and she took a few moments out of her busy schedule to answer some burning questions I had about the film. Filming begins in April on this crime thriller, marking Adam Stephen Kelly’s feature film directorial debut.

Vinnie Jones joined the cast of the film, alongside Sean Cronin, Nicole Faraday, and Sarah Alexandra Marks.

Andrew Jones and Emily Coupland serve as producers for North Bank Entertainment, with Robert Graham executive producing. Independent Moving Pictures and Hood & Co are financing the production.

Impact Entertainment’s action heist thriller is directed by Mark McQueen and stars Craig Fairbrass, James Cosmo, Steven Berkoff, Nick Moran and Mem Ferda.

Worldwide sales (excluding the UK) are being handled by Cinema Management Group, who will commence sales in Cannes with a promo reel for buyers.

Producer Luke Fairbrass commented: “It’s a very powerful and hard hitting revenge thriller with that perfect blend of gripping action, realistic violence and powerful drama delivering what international buyers and genre fans the world over are after.”

This action yarn takes place in a seedy London underworld and in Spain's vibrant south. While we enjoy the privilege of bringing you coverage of the popcorntastic openings of films such as Iron Man 2 and The Prince of Persia we also embrace the opportunity to support newer voices in British cinema.
