Child’s Play (1988) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Tom Holland
A new episode of the Deconstructing… video series has been released through the JoBlo Horror Originals YouTube channel, and the classic horror film we’re digging into this time around is director Tom Holland’s Child’s Play (watch it Here), from 1988. To find out what we had to say about Child’s Play, check out the video embedded above!

Scripted by Holland, John Lafia, and Don Mancini, Child’s Play has the following synopsis:

Gunned down by Detective Mike Norris, dying murderer Charles Lee Ray uses black magic to put his soul inside a doll named Chucky — which Karen Barclay then buys for her young son, Andy. When Chucky kills Andy’s baby sitter, the boy realizes the doll is alive and tries to warn people, but he’s institutionalized. Now Karen must convince the detective of the murderous doll’s intentions, before Andy becomes Chucky’s next victim.

‘Paintball Massacre’ DVD Review
Image
Stars: Katy Brand, Lee Latchford-Evans, Robert Portal, Nicholas Vince, Ian Virgo, Cheryl Burniston, Lockhart Ogilvie, Natasha Killip, Nathan Vlough, Joe Hallett | Written by Chris Regan | Directed by Darren Berry

Brit horror Paintball Massacre sees a bunch of old school friends go on a paintball trip miles away from civilization. Things go horribly wrong when they discover that not only are their old school “friends” playing the game but also a cold-blooded masked killer…

High school reunions in movies never go right do they? Be it comedy or horror, school reunions tend to feature people harbouring unforgiven betrayals, long-standing hatreds, and stir up emotions that many have buried deep, forgetting the traumas of school life until they come face to face with people long-since forgotten. Its even worse when one of the class mates has turned into a total psychopath and want to take hatred of their school “friends” to a whole new level.

Netflix Announces 18 New Movies/TV Shows For January
Image
We’ve only got a few weeks left of 2020, so we might as well start looking ahead to 2021. When it comes to new arrivals dropping on Netflix in January, it’s too early to get our hands on a full list at this stage, but a small amount of titles have already been announced, including a bunch of newly licensed movies that’ll be added on the first of the month as well as a couple of much-anticipated originals that are on the way throughout the rest of January.

On New Year’s Day, Netflix is delivering a number of classic 2000s films. A couple of them are Christmas flicks, too, so make sure to squeeze those in just before the festive season officially ends. Oddly enough, both star Vince Vaughn as well – 2007’s Fred Claus and 2008’s Four Christmases. Meanwhile, Zac Efron comedy 17 Again goes up the same day,...

Paintball Massacre Trailer Mixes Blood & Paint for One Deadly High School Reunion
Image
We have a brand new trailer for Paintball Massacre. Given the state of movie theaters right now, moviegoers are going to be left with precious few options throughout the rest of 2020. At least compared to any normal year. As such, we are going to largely be left with what is available to stream from the comfort of home. The folks at Uncork'd Entertainment are providing us with a rather unique option here, as we are getting a horror movie centered around a game of paintball. Per the studio, viewers need to "get ready for a deadly family reunion!"

The trailer kicks off with a group of former school friends getting together for a reunion, though there is some skepticism amongst them. They then decide to arrange for a game of paintball, of all things, with one member of their group particularly uninterested in the idea. But she goes along with it anyway.

Will El Paso and Dayton Become More Mass Shootings We Forget?
This story was first published after the October 2017 mass shooting in Las Vegas, the deadliest mass shooting in our history. We will republish it every time America suffers another mass shooting.

A.J. Schnack remembers the calm in every town. No matter how hellish the shooting, or how many news crews came, things always went back to normal. So Schnack made a film.

“Every time, there’s people who think we need to do something about this violence, then the other side says, ‘Now is not the time,’ and then a few days go by and there’s just… nothing,” he said. “I wanted to make something that shows these events happening again and again and how they echo one another.”

Some crazy Mania questions for Director Jessica Cameron; Mania teaser trailer releases

As you all know, I am a huge fan of the directorial work of Jessica Cameron, and loved her first feature film, Truth or Dare (review). Check out the the first teaser trailer for Mania below the interview and details.

Jw: I know from watching movies with you and talking about them that you like movies with a lot of nudity and sex, and now with Mania it looks like you have directed one. What is it about nudity and sex in movies that you find appealing?

Jc: Ha Ha Ha! I can honestly say that no one has ever asked me that before.

Premiere: Just for the Record
The main thing that separates HeyUGuys from other film sites is one of the things I value most about us – we aren’t obsessed with the Hollywood Blockbuster. While we enjoy the privilege of bringing you coverage of the popcorntastic openings of films such as Iron Man 2 and The Prince of Persia we also embrace the opportunity to support newer voices in British cinema. This joint production from Black and Blue Films and Raw Film Productions documents the...
