If you like disturbing found footage similar to 'August Underground' you'll be a fan of this, just felt like it dragged on for me personally.
If you enjoyed the first film, you will enjoy the second. It doesn't quite have the focus of the first movie, instead choosing to showcase more side characters, gore, and somewhat campy humor. Not everything lands, but you'll be hard pressed to look away. The best parts are the ones between Jane and our main guy. There's a lot of heart between the two, and seeing a different side of our boy SV666 was a nice change from the first movie. Huge shout out to Stephanie Jaskot, our leading lady. She was certainly the highlight of the film and gave a fantastic, believable performance. All in all, a good watch. I look forward to whenever Reel 3 releases.
SV666 is a great director and their movie "masterpieces" deserve more people to watch them... I'm sure it will get a lot more well-known one day because if not it would be a waste of potential. I love this personally recorded-on-camera type of stuff and it feels so real, some parts are really hard to watch (probably because i'm not used to really gore-y movies) but the movie as a whole is interesting and i never got bored. It always leaves you on edge about what is going to happen to the people in it, even when you know from the first film what type of movie this is, you're still unsure of what is going to happen to the people around them.
Overall i actually enjoyed this a lot and sv666 is actually a REELy cool guy. If you haven't watched this yet, do it!!!

To be upfront I've never seen Reel but was told from a friend I respect that it wasn't required to see Reel 2. I took her advice and was glad I did. At first I wasn't sure what to expect but as the story progressed I was left gobsmacked in ways few movies have left me before. I have a hard time categorizing it as a straight horror film as there were just as many elements included from the avant-garde, comedy and drama. I'm not surprised this hasn't been reviewed more. This is not a movie for the average movie goer. Nothing is spoon-fed. At times I was reminded of the feeling I had watching Eraserhead for the first time back in the early 80's. I'm not saying it's anything like a David Lynch film but the way it seemed to create a new language out of nothing was definitely comparable. Erotic, shocking, hilarious, and yes extremely, extremely horrific. My only fear is that it may take the world a few years to catch up to the style presented here. This may be a movie destined for future generations to enjoy.
First let me just say everyone on here giving 10 stars is obviously either the family, friends or cast and crew because this movie is really not special at all! I saw the first one and I remember feeling that was a bit mediocre but this one maybe worse! It's a shame because it starts out pretty promising. The way it's edited and the story it's sets up is kinda interesting at first, but then it starts going downhill quick and never recovers. First the movie is way too long. Then the next is unbelievable way they try to make this movie blend with reality ala Blair Witch. It just doesn't work. Also the cast are unlikable and annoying, especially the main baddies voice filter will have you cringing the whole movie. But easily the worse thing about this film by far is the choppy, seizure inducing editing that will drive you nuts when you reach the hour mark.
It's a shame because there generally feels Like there's a good movie buried in here somewhere. Some of the editing is quite well done even if it's too much. At times it does work though, it's just a shame it's over used to an annoying level. And there's some good shots thrown around throughout the film. At times there was some good tension. Especially at one scene near the end. But alas it's too long and annoying to really make this film out to be the classic other reviewers are falsely claiming it to be.
Watch it only if your a fan of the original. If not there's really no point in seeing this one.
