Death sets one unsuspecting tattoo artist’s business (and body) ablaze in the fiery, gruesome first teaser trailer for “Final Destination Bloodlines.”
Directed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, whose previous credits include 2018’s “Freaks” and the live-action “Kim Possible” movie, the new film comes 14 years after “Final Destination 5” hit theaters in 2011. It’s based on a screenplay by Lori Evans Taylor and Guy Busick (“Scream IV”) and will follow a new assortment of characters as they try to cheat Death and escape the grisly, cartoonishly constructed ends that await them.
The film’s first trailer is a simple return to form for the “Final Destination” franchise. Across its succinct two minutes, the spot follows a tattooist (Richard Harmon) grieving his father’s recent passing who ends up caught literally in a quickly escalating trap set in motion by Death itself. The results are predictably brutal and horrifying.

Fourteen years after “Final Destination 5” made a bloody splash in theaters, the trailer for the newest addition to the long-running horror franchise, “Final Destination: Bloodlines,” has released just in time for the series’ 25th anniversary.
Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, who previously worked together on 2018’s “Freaks” and “Kim Possible,” are directing a script from Guy Busick (“Scream VI”) and Lori Evans (“Lucky Dog”). This sixth film marks Lipovsky and Stein’s entryway into “Final Destination,” continuing the franchise’s trend of bringing on fresh directors.
The trailer shows a tattoo artist giving a client a painful tongue piercing before giving himself a tattoo. As he works, he doesn’t notice a series of chain reaction that unfolds and ultimately results in his death. A chain from the ceiling falls, attaches itself to the man’s nose ring, gets wrapped around a fan and pulls him up by the...

Whether it's comedy or drama, ghosts or demons or any other unearthly creature, the last five years have produced all manner of supernatural content. Not every series may get the attention it deserves, but each of these shows brings something interesting to the genre while still grounding its story in compelling characters and their human connections to each other. Most TV viewers have had to cope with losing a beloved show that was canceled way too soon. Sometimes, a show needs more than a season to find its footing, but the television climate doesn't always allow a series that kind of time to find an audience. One platform known to cancel a TV series way too early is Netflix, despite once taking the stance of allowing their shows to find an audience. The list of canceled Netflix series is so vast now that a hashtag has gone viral on social media as fans remember and shed a tear for some of the platform's fallen TV projects.
If you head over to X, you will find that #NetflixCancels is trending as fans discuss a slew of shows that were killed on the platform far too soon. Much of this seems to have been sparked by a 2017 post on Netflix's then-official Twitter page that states,...

Despite positive reviews and three Daytime Emmy Awards, Netflix decided not to renew "Julie and the Phantoms" for a second season, leaving fans disappointed. The first season ended with a cliffhanger, leaving many unanswered questions and indicating that the show was meant to continue with further storylines. The show's creators had plans for a second season, including exploring the ghosts' desire to share their music with the world, but unfortunately, those plans will never come to fruition due to the cancellation.
Though it was a vibrant and original addition to Netflix's massive library of shows, Julie and the Phantoms season 2 never materialized and the series was canceled after only one season. The musical comedy-drama television series was based on the Brazilian show Julie e os Fantasmas and was created by Dan Cross and David Hoge and executive produced by Kenny Ortega, who had previously signed a multi-year deal with Netflix.

There's a killer on the loose, and they're totally rocking the '80s. Like, seriously!
Amazon Prime Video's newest slasher, Totally Killer, is a sci-fi horror-comedy that takes what we love of the '80s and mixes it with a time travel twist. Think of it like a mix of Happy Death Day and Scream but in a B-movie VHS tape.
Compared to those two slashers having a solid point of view, Totally Killer was just another slasher on the block. It was a bloody, fun ride, albeit a messy one with its B-horror movie characters and inconsistent plot.
Totally Killer captures the exaggerated tone of the '80s, especially in campy horror flicks. Plenty of big hair, big colors, and bigger personalities make up the world.
But what helps the movie stand out is the self-aware nature of Jamie Hughes (played by Kiernan Shipka of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina...

If you mixed Back to the Future and Halloween, or if The Final Girls had involved traveling in time instead of into a movie, the results might be something like Totally Killer. It’s a time traveling spoof of slasher movies from Blumhouse who already visited this territory with Happy Death Day and its sequel.
The fact it was from Blumhouse was just one of the reasons I debated watching Totally Killer. It was directed by Nahnatchka Khan who is best known for Always Be My Maybe and Young Rock and had no genre experience. Similarly, the three writers David Matalon, Sasha Perl-Raver (Let’s Get Married) and Jen D’Angelo were lacking in that regard as well. But since it...

Key Takeaways: Julie and the Phantoms was a popular show on Netflix, but it was canceled after just one season. The show had a talented cast and a fantastic soundtrack, but it may have attracted the wrong demographic. The show's audience skewed older than anticipated, which was likely not in line with Netflix's target demographic. The show's relatable music and nostalgic feel may have attracted viewers who grew up with the creator's previous projects. Netflix has a pattern of canceling shows after one season, despite their popularity. This has led to backlash from viewers and accusations that streaming platforms have ruined television. The cancelation of Julie and the Phantoms may have been a mistake on Netflix's part.

With no restrictions to adhere to, Netflix has allowed these teen shows to be unapologetically authentic depicting both the highs and lows of teenage life. Meanwhile, there are films like "The Drop" and "Mayhem" available to stream that might help viewers get ready for a series like "Beef." High school is a complicated time in a person's life. While everyone goes through physical, mental, and social changes as they begin to transition into adulthood, the high school experience isn't the same for everybody. Some people feel like outcasts and revel in the community built on the outskirts of "normalcy." Meanwhile, others consider it to be the greatest years of their lives and have no problem participating in the ongoing popularity contest or reaping the benefits that come with it.

“Live-action kids and family programming will not be part of our programming focus in the immediate future, and as a result, we’ve had to make the very difficult decision to end Gordita Chronicles at HBO Max,” a spokesperson for the streamer said in a statement to Deadline. “The series earned critical acclaim and a loyal following, and we are proud to have worked with creator Claudia Forestieri and our two powerhouse executive producers, Eva Longoria — who also masterfully directed the pilot — and Zoe Saldaña, to bring Cucu’s journey to the screen. Growing up is hard. And if you’re a young girl looking for relatable content about friends, shifting family dynamics and staying true to yourself in this digital world, you’d be hard pressed to find many solid viewing options. That’s where Apple TV+’s new original “Amber Brown” fills a void.
The 10-part show is an adaptation of Paula Danziger’s popular children’s book series of the same name. When viewers meet Amber Brown (played by Carsyn Rose) she is starting the sixth grade in the middle of three big crises: her parents are getting divorced, her mom is with a new man and her best friend Justin (Joshua Gallup) is moving away.
Creator, writer and director Bonnie Hunt ages Amber from nine to 11 in this iteration in order to appeal to those younger viewers who historically “watch up.” The result is a series about a girl...
