Lionsgate has finally launched the brand new trailer for their upcoming action-thriller Ballerina, offering a killer new look at Academy Award-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives Out; No Time to Die; Ghosted) heading into action as Eve Macarro, and it looks like her mission just got considerably more difficult than we imagined as she'll soon find herself up against Baba Yaga himself!

Yes, as the trailer reveals, The Director (Anjelica Huston) will send John Wick (Keanu Reeves) after Eve, in a last-ditch effort to stop her vendetta. John will offer her a choice, leave or die, and the battle commences. It certainly adds an interesting wrinkle to the film, as we were all previously under the assumption that Wick and Macarro would be allies and fight together, which could obviously still happen, but it looks like things will head into a different direction before the credits roll.

The new trailer for “Ballerina” shows de Armas in action as Eve Macarro, a Russian ballerina-turned-assassin with an eye for vengeance against the men who killed her family. But de Armas isn’t alone, as Keanu Reeves makes his anticipated return as John Wick.

“Ballerina” takes place in between “John Wick: Chapter 3 — Parabellum” and “John Wick: Chapter 4,” expanding the assassin role originally played by Unity Phelan with de Armas’ take on the character. The film comes two years since audiences saw Reeves in the fourth entry, which became the highest-grossing installment in the series with a worldwide gross of over $440 million. Altogether, the first four “John Wick” films grossed over $1 billion worldwide.

With a new trailer confirmed for 10 Am Est tomorrow, Lionsgate has shared a handful of brand new stills from Ballerina, their upcoming action-thriller starring Academy Award-nominee Ana de Armas (Knives Out; No Time to Die; Ghosted) in the lead role as Eve Macarro.

While plot details remain mostly under wraps, the film's official synopsis reads, "Taking place during the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, the film follows Eve Macarro who is beginning her training in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma."

Since Ballerina is set inbetween the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, it will also feature franchise mainstays Keanu Reeves as John Wick, Ian McShane as Winston Scott, and the late Lance Reddick, in his final on-screen appearance, as Charon.

Shudder had pull for “Push,” as the all-horror-all-the-time streamer has acquired the home invasion thriller ahead of its U.S. premiere at Cinequest Film Festival in San Jose, Calif. later this month. After seven live action movies and a short-lived Netflix television series, Constantin Film and PlayStation Productions are bringing Resident Evil back to the big screen, with Zach Cregger (Barbarian) writing and directing. Several studios had been engaged in a bidding war for the project, but Deadline reports today that the property will stay at Sony.

Warner Bros. and Netflix had reportedly also been in the mix. Sony, who released all previous Re movies, will release Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil in theaters September 18, 2026.

Zach Cregger’s Resident Evil is said to “take the title back to its horror roots and be more faithful to the initial games,” with Cregger and Shay Hatten (Army of the Dead) writing.

“I’ve been a rabid fan of these games for decades and to be able to bring this amazing title to life is a true honor,” Zach Cregger told Deadline in a statement published this afternoon.

The studio has won a hotly contested bidding war to nab not only the rights to the horror action movie franchise based on the popular video games, but also for the opportunity to work with hot filmmaker Zach Cregger. The studio has set a release date of Sept. 18, 2026 for the project.

Cregger, the writer-director behind acclaimed horror movie Barbarian and the upcoming ensemble piece Weapons, is attached to write and direct.

The franchise, which had called Sony label Screen Gems home since releasing the first movie in 2002, found itself in a unique position of being up for grabs in January, inciting an intense bidding war. In the end, Sony prevailed, this time via its Columbia Pictures banner, allowing for a bigger budget.

Jeremy Lott and Cory Goodman are writing the script. Dave Bautista is ready to star in Netflix's Gears of War movie. However, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor is getting a bit tired of waiting.

Speaking with ComicBook.com to promote his latest movie In the Lost Lands, Bautista touched on Netflix's Gears of War movie, which was announced alongside an adult animated television series back in November 2022. While Bautista is not formally attached to the project, he remains a popular casting choice among the Gears of the War fandom due to his love of the game. Now, more than two years after the initial announcement, Bautista is tired of Netflix dragging its feet and has called out to fans to "Start an online thing about freaking Gears of War. Come on, Netflix. Come on already." The actor shared that he has also been in contact with the streamer about the movie, saying, "It’s not like I’m not badgering them.

James Gunn's new Dcu is now in full swing, putting to bed the past films and series in the Dceu, including many of Zack Snyder's works. However, the new Dcu has a project on its slate that would be perfect to reintegrate Snyder into the cinematic book universe.

Snyder was known for directing many of the Dceu's movies, including Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

The director eventually moved away from the superhero universe to direct some of his passion projects like Army of the Dead and Rebel Moon, but that doesn't rule Snyder out from returning to the Dcu under Gunn.

Bruton was charged in the early 2000s for a manslaughter conviction from a fatal hit and run in Jacksonville, Fl. The movie will follow Bruton’s journey through the correctional system.

In the wake of his release and moving to California, Bruton turned to making the YouTube video series Bryan Bruton Crazy Prison Stories. Bruton’s videos canvases life in the Florida prison system from, from how inmates obtain and conceal drugs, alcohol and weapons to cutting the window out of one’s jail cell.

Grashaw also wrote the screenplay. Bruton recently wrapped production in Gulfport and Biloxi, Mississippi.

Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming scripted series about the life of Muhammad Ali has cast two more series regulars.

Variety has learned that Omari Hardwick and Dana Gourrier have joined “The Greatest,” which is the first authorized scripted series about Ali’s life. The pair will appear alongside previously announced series lead Jaalen Best.

Hardwick will play Ali’s father, Cassius “Cash” Clay Sr., while Gourrier will Ali’s mother, Odessa “Bird” Clay.

The International Emmy Award-winning Indian series “Delhi Crime” is gearing up for its third season, with acclaimed actor Huma Qureshi joining the stellar ensemble cast.

The series, which took home the International Emmy for best drama series in 2020, is currently in post-production.

Qureshi, fresh off her Filmfare Award win for SonyLIV’s “Maharani 3,” steps into the role of the show’s most formidable antagonist yet, going head-to-head with Shefali Shah’s beloved character Dcp Vartika Chaturvedi, referred to by her team as “Madam Sir.”

“I was delighted and honored when the makers approached me to play the antagonist for the third season of this internationally acclaimed show,” Qureshi said. “I hope we continue to entertain the audience with the show’s third instalment.”

The new season sees the return of core cast members Shah, Rasika Dugal as Acp Neeti Singh, and Rajesh Tailang as Bhupendra. Tanuj Chopra returns as director and showrunner.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Snyder has partnered up back up with Netflix to develop an "untitled action movie centered on the Los Angeles Police Department." Also revealed is that Snyder will be co-writing the script alongside frequent collaborator Kurt Johnstad. The film co-written by Snyder and Kurt Johnstad — a longtime collaborator on projects like 300 and Rebel Moon — is set in a high-stakes world of life and death, watching as an elite LAPD unit is relentlessly confronted with the unforgiving collision of law and morality.

Snyder will produce alongside wife and creative partner Deborah Snyder, as well as his partner Wesley Coller for Stone Quary. This marks the fourth feature to fall under the creative partnership between Stone Quarry and Netflix, after Rebel Moon and Rebel Moon – Part Two: The Scargiver. Stone Quarry also produced Army of the Dead and Army of Thieves for Netflix, and debuted animated series Twilight of the Gods on the streamer in September.
