Piz (Christopher Lowell) makes a crack impugning the virtue of Rob Thomas, referring to the Matchbox Twenty lead singer. The creator of Veronica Mars (2004) is also named Rob Thomas. Perhaps due to this ongoing name confusion, the musician Rob Thomas of Matchbox 20 performed as himself in an episode of television's Rob Thomas' later show iZombie.
