The The Passenger episode of Revisited was Written by Vannah Taylor, Narrated by Lance Vlcek, Edited by Paul Bookstaber, Produced by Tyler Nichols and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian.
Do you ever have one of those days that can be perfectly summed up by the lyrics of Limp Bizkit’s Break Stuff? Most of us have, especially anyone who’s dragged themselves to a shift at a dingy fast food joint. That is exactly the kind of day that Benson and Randy are having in the 2023 thriller, The Passenger, because anyone who interacts with this duo will have their life on contract.
Directed by Carter Smith, who horror fans might recognize from films like The Ruins, Jamie Marks is Dead, and Swallowed, The Passenger is a neat little character driven thriller that turns every service worker’s worst nightmare into a grim journey of self-discovery. Randy Bradley,...

Survival horror movies always were staples of the genre. From the dark caves of The Descent to the shark-infested waters of The Shallows, seeing how characters could survive nature and all of its elements drew audiences in, especially in the 2000s and 2010s. 2024 brought new releases Arcadian and Never Let Go to the survival horror subgenre. The A Quiet Place franchise received universal praise from critics and audiences, and all three entries performed extraordinarily well at the box office. Seeing characters facing more realistic, terrifying scenarios could often evoke more fear than the paranormal or supernatural could. The average person was far more likely to find themselves fighting to survive the elements rather than a demon or ghost haunting their home or following them around every street corner. Broken bones, wild animal attacks, and being unable to take on Mother Nature were far more likely to have happened to the...

The term body horror usually conjures up gruesome images that are guaranteed to heave your stomach and activate your gag reflex. It is not necessarily known for being subtle. In fact, it is generally considered to be the polar opposite: graphic, bold and demanding. However, in 2022's Swallowed, director Carter Smith somehow crafts the viscera of body horror while approaching the subject evasively. By doing so, he reveals a universal fear we didn't even know we had. While the queer themes in Swallowed's narrative are provocative and powerful, Smith has already proved his deft handle on sociopolitical ideas before, boasting an impressive directorial debut of the eco-horror The Ruins. As such, it is his innovative approach to body horror that steals our breath in Swallowed, demonstrating his mastery over turning a concept that is usually considered perverse into something more... tasteful.

Ben Stiller has addressed some of the projects that he is considering after Severance. The Apple TV+ show, which stars Adam Scott, is a sci-fi thriller taking place in an office where employees' minds are split between their work and their personal lives. In addition to being one of the show's executive producers, Emmy-winning actor Ben Stiller directed six of the nine episodes from season 1 and is set to helm five of the ten episodes in the upcoming Severance season 2.
During a recent conversation with Collider that took place while he was promoting Escape From Dannemora, Ben Stiller discussed ideas for his next directorial project. While he admitted that most of his time has been taken up with Severance, he offered insight into what he's looking to work on afterward. One of the more vaguely defined subcategories of the genre is survival horror, a term that originated from video games. After all, survival is the central goal of any character unlucky enough to find themselves in a horror movie. Survival horror has more to do with the environment than the main antagonistic threat; it features hostile environments and scarce resources.
It’s not just a lethal killer or creature that protagonists must battle, but environmental risks like dehydration, starvation, or exposure. Sometimes, there’s no extraneous threat at all, and death comes in the form of nature itself. Those who want to survive will have to think on their feet, adapting quickly to stave off unforgiving elements.
This week’s streaming picks highlight survival horror movies that see their characters battling against multiple threats in intense bids to outlive, outlast, and of course, ultimately survive.
Here’s where you can stream them this week.

Having received mixed to negative reviews upon their initial releases, a few horror films from the 2000s are worth taking another look at. The 2000s prompted some memorable horror protagonists and horror sequels, but a few films took a bit longer to find their audience. Films like Cloverfield and Drag Me to Hell are widely discussed entries from the 2000s that have only continued to grow in popularity, while films like Thirteen Ghosts and Slither took longer to earn respect.
In a genre with rich, inventive storytelling and special effects, it's only understandable that certain films were widely dismissed when they first hit theaters. A few of the films have earned massive cult followings, while others are on their way to achieving a similar status. With enough time having passed since they were first released, there's something to enjoy in each of these horror films initially marked as a failure.

Apart from trying to avoid back-to-back Stephen King, trust me, he will be coming back this year as its kind of inevitable, I also like looking at modern horror adaptations. This is two-fold as the internet has done the 80s and 90s to death but also because there are some genuinely original and fantastic IPs that have yet to get the spotlight they deserve. The most recent example of this is The Ruins which is a horror one hit wonder from Scott Smith, yeah, he did other things but that was his only horror novel, and that’s a cool and original piece. The Ritual wasn’t one of those immediate releases where the book was churned into a movie before the book had time to cook and it is the only adaptation from a very U.K author’s works. While the movie did extremely well on Netflix and...

The Challenge Season 40 features a star-studded cast of 40 competitors, including promising newcomers, former finalists, and multi-time winners.
However, not all former winners or MTV OGs could be included in the cast, and some were unhappy about this.
Fans have already mentioned major snubs such as Ashley “Millionaire” Mitchell, Zach Nichols, and Wes Bergmann.
Several other individuals are likely considered snubs by longtime Challenge viewers: Sarah Rice and Susie Meister.
Susie is amongst MTV’s OGs after appearing on one of the network’s early reality TV shows, Road Rules.
From there, she competed in four seasons of The Challenge, reaching the final each time and winning twice.
She’s been away from the show for 14 years, and while she may have wanted to participate in Season 40, production decided not to include her in the cast.

Unique horror movies are rarely appreciated during the time of their release, with some of the most mythic cult classics taking years (sometimes decades) to receive the acclaim they deserve. For every mind-bending thriller like Talk to Me or an inventive new approach to scares like Midsommar, there are countless innovative features that are ignored (if not outright mocked) when they're released only to find new appreciation long after they've left theaters. The Ruins, directed by Carter Smith, premiered in 2008 and falls into this category. Based on the hit Scott B. Smith novel of the same name, it arrived in an era that saw cinema filled with tales of young, attractive people squaring off with some kind of evil entity. When it hit theaters, it was written off as redundant, getting lost among titles with similar premises. It's a deeply unfortunate fate because, along with being an amazing retelling of its source material,...

2023 was a solid year for horror films, and even still, there were plenty of gems that went criminally underseen. Fortunately, because horror fans are some of the most rabid (see: passionate) fans around, even movies denied multi-million dollar ad campaigns can still find their people through word-of-mouth praise, fan art, and obsessive gushing. "The Ruins," "Jamie Marks is Dead," "Swallowed," and "Midnight Kiss" director Carter Smith's latest feature film is also his best, which is why it's such a shame that "The Passenger" (read our review here) is only now picking up mainstream attention. A thrilling two-hander starring horror fan favorite Kyle Gallner and relative newcomer Johnny Berchtold, "The Passenger" is the spiritual successor to Robert Harmon's "The Hitcher," and just as brutal.

Directed by provocative filmmaker Carter Smith, The Passenger stars Johnny Berchtold as Randy, a meek fast-food worker who becomes the unwilling passenger of his co-worker Benson (Kyle Gallner). After Benson commits an unspeakable act at work, he drives around the streets of their small town with Randy by his side. During their journey, Benson attempts to "save" Randy's life by having the young man meet with several people from his past. What ensues is a dark and oddly endearing story of violence, redemption, and friendship.

Benson watches in disgust before walking out to have a smoke. Then, as if something just snapped he pulls a shotgun from his car and goes back inside killing everyone except Randy whom he takes hostage.
Not to be confused with the Spanish road trip horror of the same name, The Passenger, the new film from Carter Smith, opens with a woman, blood spurting from her eye socket crawling towards a young boy. It’s a nightmare and Randy is woken from it to start another tedious day at Burgers, Burgers, Burgers. He should have taken it as an omen and stayed home.

There is a low-key, somewhat sparse feel to The Passenger, director Carter Smith’s engaging and thought-provoking hostage thriller. With Blumhouse behind this film, one might expect equal amounts of grit and action. There’s plenty of the former, less of the latter. The script, penned by Jack Stanley (Lou), delivers a major blow in the film’s first 20 minutes, then eases back, becoming a hostage thriller that slowly builds to its final moments, offering plenty of twists in between.
Kyle Gallner and Johnny Berchtold headline the film playing two characters dealing with past traumas in different ways. Gallner is Benson, a tightly wound burger shack employee who loses it one morning. The ripple effects of his actions send the film into deeply disturbing psychological waters where these two very different characters ultimately must both confront their troubling pasts.

If you’re a fan of Blumhouse and gripping hostage thrillers, then buckle up for The Passenger. The film, which is directed by Carter Smith and stars Kyle Gallner, Johnny Berchtold (Gaslit), and Liza Weil (The Cleaning Lady), arrives on digital and on demand Aug. 4, and hits MGM+ later this year.
The story showcases Gallner — cinema darling du jour — and Berchtold in captivating performances that also provoke thought. Randy (Berchtold) doesn’t like much drama and is fine lingering on the sidelines. That changes when his brooding coworker Benson (Gallner) suddenly embarks on a violent rampage and leaves wreckage in his path. Pulled into Benson’s emotional black hole, Randy must confront his fears and come to terms with his own troubled past. Or face Benson’s unpredictable wrath.
Written by Jack Stanley (Lou), the psychological thriller delivers a mind-bending experience as its two main characters move through their emotional minefields.

There’s more than one way to be a passenger in life, not all of which involve vehicles. That’s certainly the case when it comes to the protagonist in Carter Smith’s propulsive new thriller, which functions like a therapy session on wheels between a murderous shrink and an unwilling patient. If the two of them don’t exactly paint the town red during their would-be getaway, it’s only because their journey was precipitated by a shocking act of violence in their place of business and they now have to keep a low profile. “The Passenger” does as well, and proves sneakily effective with its low-key approach to several kinds of violence.

"If I'm gonna help you, then I can't have you getting in my way. Because it forces me to hurt you. I need you to work with me, not against me." Paramount and MGM+ have revealed an official trailer for an action thriller horror crossover called The Passenger, the latest from the genre filmmaker Carter Smith. Not to be confused with Jack Nicholson's 1975 film also called The Passenger. This is a Blumhouse production, produced by Jason Blum, that will be dropping on VOD directly in August. A man is forced to face his fears and confront his troubled past. He must find a way to survive when his co-worker snaps and goes on a violent killing spree, taking him along for the ride. This one stars Kyle Gallner, Johnny Berchtold, Liza Weil, with Merah Benoit and Morgana Shaw. An unsettling trailer that gets uncomfortable by the end, but that's the point of this film.

Infectious disease has been a concern of humankind ever since we first began cooperating in large settlements, so it makes sense that this horrific fact of life has also become the basis for many of our scary stories. And while Covid and the Black Plague are scary enough on their own, some stories rely on much stranger (and often absurd) diseases in order to terrify audiences – especially when horror movies are concerned.
And with so many viral scares out there, we’ve decided to come up with a list recommending six of the strangest infection horror flicks for your viewing pleasure. After all, it might do horror fans some good to remember that things could still have been much worse after living through a very real pandemic.
Naturally, the films on this list aren’t the only strange viral horror flicks out there, so don’t forget to comment below...

Many reality TV shows are known for drama, such as 90 Day Fiancé, but viewers have not always been prepared for what has aired in the reunion specials. Reunions are popular conclusions to many seasons of reality TV shows, as they provide cast members with a chance to reflect on their past season of filming, which likely occurred about a year before the reunions took place. However, numerous reality TV reunions have become infamous for various reasons.
Two main categories of reality TV reunions are seen as inadequate. Some reunions are boring, as they fail to answer questions that viewers wanted to have addressed. This often leads to fans expressing their frustration as they were hoping to witness closure or have cast members held accountable for their actions. On the other hand, some reality TV reunions air too much drama. Several of them have aired physical violence that has sometimes...

Rico Nasty tidies up a house (kinda) while its owners sit tied up in the basement in the new video for her 100 Gecs-produced single, “Turn It Up.”
The new track boasts a pretty minimalist beat, built around the relentless tick of a hi-hat that explodes with speaker-rattling kick drums and grinding synth sounds. It’s an ideal palette for Rico Nasty to go scorched earth over: “I just put the cash in a stash,” she spits, “Why you looking on my page and you ain’t even wash ya ass?...

Rico Nasty is back with a new song called “Turn It Up,” produced by 100 gecs. Check it out below.
Though the track was produced by 100 gecs, “Turn It Up” is sparse when it comes to instrumentation. Little but boosted bass thrums in between Rico’s self-assured flow as she offers the solid advice, “Never pay attention to a hatin’ ass hoe.” Later, her lyrics get even better: “Why you looking on my page and you ain’t even wash your ass?” The track comes with a music video by Isaac Garcia in which the rapper cleans house (literally) as a maid — only for the homeowners to be locked in the basement.
“Turn It Up” follows Rico Nasty’s 2022 mixtape Las Ruinas, one of the best rap albums of the year. The artist is in the midst of a North American tour that continues through May, and tickets are on sale now here.
