Danger en altitude (2007)

Goofs

Danger en altitude

Edit

Continuity

Stock Footage error, plane switches from two engines to four in mid flight.
Around the 41st minute, after the scene of the video conference with the entomologist, we see the commander again in the cockpit as if nothing had happened.

Factual errors

Near the beginning the subtitles spell the South American country Colombia as "Columbia" (as in British Columbia, Canada where the movie was filmed).
An abandoned airport runway still has functioning approach lights.
Throughout the film, whenever multitudes of ants are seen swarming on the plane, they are also "heard" vocalizing with chirps and squeaks, sounding like mice. Real ants communicate via movement, and thus do not have any means of making noises.
In real life, ants can't survive at an airplane's typical cruising altitude.

This breaks the concept of the whole movie, which is about ants infesting a plane while it's in the air.

Revealing mistakes

Even though the name of the airline is covered on the main fuselage of the plane, the logo on the tailfin denotes the plane as a WestJet plane. WestJet is a Canadian airliner that does not fly to Colombia, which is the departure point of the flight in the movie.

Miscellaneous

The ants are identified as black bullet ants, but some appear to be red ants.

Errors in geography

The airplane washroom signs are in both English and Japanese which is typical of airplanes in British Columbia on the West Coast (where this movie was filmed) which travel to Asia frequently. But since the plane was coming from Columbia, South America to Miami the second language should have been Spanish.
The control tower in Miami, Florida has mountains in the background. Miami is a sea level airport, and there are no mountains in the state of Florida.
