While I am open to many forms of news. I must say I can't watch this. It has a very comfortable vibe and nice relatable hosts. Yet this nationally broadcasted dutch news channel only focuses on micro news. They can cover an old lady being robbed, but ignore a theme like global warming. This type of 'news outlets' make people ignore the bigger picture and focus on the trees in front of them.
What once started as a simple, accessible news program has now turned into a biased, manipulative, and often sensationalist show that preys on emotions rather than facts. Hart van Nederland increasingly leans into populist themes, choosing stories that spark outrage instead of those that truly matter. The result is a program that gives a distorted view of reality, often appealing to fear and frustration rather than providing well-balanced reporting.
The show seems to cater to a specific demographic that enjoys hearing their own biases confirmed, rather than being challenged with objective information. It is disappointing to see what this program has become. True journalism should be about informing the public in an honest and neutral way, not about reinforcing divisive narratives. This is bottom-tier broadcasting that does more harm than good.
