    Could have been better....

This is not another very noisy Vijay movie. They tried to maintain a class and in which I will say that they have awfully failed. Even it would have got better if it has got down with the usual Vijay's formula. The director has wasted the mass the lead actor has.

It will not definitely satisfy any of Vijay's fanatic. Yet I believe it will be a normal entertainer if one goes without any expectations as Vijay himself has said. The music score by A.R.Rehman is great and caused the movie fans to dream of very classy scenes before the movie was released. But the director has not done to satisfaction. The first song has abruptly failed to be the intro song of Vijay

Vijay's screen presence and A.R.Rahman's musical score are the only saving grace of this film

Vijay is an actor who rarely experiments with his films but with Azhagiya Tamil Magan, he seems to have taken a different path which doesn't work much for him. This is a film that starts off clearly as a Vijay film, but eventually, some twists and turns after the interval drives this film as a soap opera till the climax. Honestly, Azhagiya Tamil Magan is a pure Vijay show because he is there in every scene and shines pretty much with his screen presence. Azhagiya Tamil Magan is the very first dual role film for Vijay and he seems to have taken it seriously by playing the protagonist and the antagonist. He is the ordinary Vijay as Guru the protagonist but as the antagonist, he has done a slightly different role. As Prasad, the antagonist, he has delivered an effortless performance and his voice modulation would be a treat for Vijay fans. Other than Vijay, Azhagiya Tamil Magan doesn't have anything interesting as content because it looks a bit like a soap-opera. The way that Bharathan has treated the film doesn't convince us much because it doesn't excite us while watching the film. The lack of strong characters and the not-so-engaging writing decreases the interest to watch the film. The scenes where the two Vijays meet are supposed to be fire cracking but unfortunately, the not-so-good CGI lets down the scene's massy appeal. Even the climax doesn't fit much in this Vijay film because it feels too melodramatic. Apart from Vijay, the only savior that makes us watch the film is A.R.Rahman. Yes, A.R.Rahman has played a huge part in boosting the film's energy level. His brilliant background score and his amazing album would be the only good memories from the film. Overall, Vijay's screen presence and A.R.Rahman's musical score are the only saving grace of this film.

Vijay would not have smiled after the Preview!!

Vijay would not have smiled after the Preview. We went a week after Diwali, despite the negative reviews, thinking other Fans Clubs would have spread such reviews. But the movie proved more than the reviews. Many Weaks , especially the Graphics work. I have not seen such a BAD fight in the recent years. Vijay has delivered his best in Dance . But his Voice modulation is very bad for the Villain Role. Rehman Rocks in the opening song.

This movie is not even worth for DVD's. Being an Ardent fan of Vijay, i expect the best in his next film "Kuruvi" and a strong recommendation - "Dont boast yourself in movies".

    Azhagiya Thamizh Magan

Different story and a different acting done by Thalapathi but some of the unwanted scenes and dialogue feels like lagging, ending was not good, Villain character is like a devil so it needed a back story otherwise this could be a must watch movie.
