In Philadelphia, Ray is a physician, and his wife Miranda is an architect. They have a 13-year-old daughter Haley who writes for her school paper and is developing an attitude.
Ray's niece Christie is in college in Philadelphia. Her mother and stepfather wanted her to stay in Baltimore, but she doesn't get along with them. Christie is still bitter over her father's suicide two years earlier.
Christie has a nice meal with her family members. Haley thinks she's cool. She changes her tune once she finds out Christie is moving in; Christie makes Ray feel sorry for her by claiming she lived in a noisy but cheap dump. Actually, the truth is she was living in a nice old house with an old woman who sleeps a lot. And her room suggested she was a stalker.
To herself, Christie says Ray's perfect life is over. To help in her devious plan, Christie finds the social security number of a deceased person who would have been the same age as Selene, and with the information she can get online, she gives Selene the new identity of Jennifer James. Christie also persuades Ray to give her a job.
The movie's title pretty much gives away what happens next, but the specifics are interesting and the ending exciting.
I find no real reason to recommend this movie over others like it. At first no one can convince me they are not acting. But when she is scheming, Danielle Kind is quite good. Plus she's gorgeous. Anastasia Phillips is better when she's being sneaky, but not great when she's trying to be threatening.
It's still entertaining.

Is the word for this vacant film about revenge. A sorry bunch of actors as well. Cynthia Gibb, whom I like, is wasted in a thankless and clueless role as the wife who is unaware of the evil around her. I mean how empty headed can you be? The husband, played by another boring actor, John Shipp, is also clueless. I mean didn't he know his brother's daughter? Come on. Then we have the witch herself, played by Danielle Kind, who goes around with one look on her face. "I'm gonna get you". The kid daughter is wise to her from the start. Played by Annie Bovaird, she's the only sensible one in the film. And of course, no one listens to her. Oh, then we have Anastasia Phillips playing a so called femme fa tale. Wrong. She was as plain and plump as she could be. The furthest from being an attractive woman. That was far fetched casting. Josh, played by Jamieson Boulanger, fared better in a smaller role. You believed him.
Writing was awful, acting was hilarious, plot was predictable, directing was so-so and over all a terrible movie even for the likes of LMN.

Poorly acted low budget Lifetime channel garbage. Shut it off after the first twenty minutes.
I originally bought the DVD because I'm a big fan of John Wesley Shipp, who played Ray Colton. Once I watched it, I was pleasantly surprised. It turned out I related to the plot, a young woman seeking revenge against relatives she felt did her and her father wrong. The performances of Mr. Shipp and Cynthia Gibb (FAME and SEARCH FOR TOMORROW) were good in that the reactions when they realized that their teenage daughter was right about Christy all along were that of utter shock and disbelief. The girls who played Christy and her cousin were adequate. The blonde girl who was part of Christy's plan came off like a total ditz. Perhaps Paris Hilton could have played the part better.
Christie is a young college student who suffers from the loss of her father who committed suicide, so Christie holds her uncle responsible and plans to take her revenge.
the film has a very basic plot outline, so you can pretty much predict how it all ends, but at least its great entertainment, the acting is good but some character reactions are not very convincing at times, their expressions tend to look a little wooden, although other cast members pull of their roles quite nicely
Overall, its good for those days when you have nothing to do, but do give it a try, and despite the miner flaws it will keep you entertained from start to finish.
