Snowden's line, "[...] and that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it" is a clear reference to KC & The Sunshine Band's 1975 disco hit song, "That's the Way (I Like It)."
Landon's story of Snowden's adventures in Princess Electra's magical kingdom ends in a manner similar to that of Raymond Briggs' classic story Le Bonhomme de neige (1982), with the children grieving over the melting of both snowmen.
The film's original song "Sleep and Dream" is referred to and quoted by several characters outside of its main musical number, something not done in any other Jetlag Productions film, save for Cendrillon (1994).
