“Jury Duty” will be back for Season 2 sooner than we think.
The Amazon Freevee comedy, which became a surprise hit for the platform and migrated over to Prime Video after the sibling streamer’s shuttering, already produced its next installment, according to media reports.
Amazon representatives declined to comment for the story.
The new season is believed to be set at a corporate retreat instead of a courtroom, according to a report from Variety. Filming took place in Los Angeles and Deadline reported the story will center around a David vs. Goliath theme.
“Jury Duty” was created by Lee Eisenberg, and Gene Stupnitsky. Season 1 followed breakout star Ronald Gladden in a documentary-style journey following his time as a juror, until it is revealed that the proceedings were fake from the start.
The series is executive produced by the pair alongside David Bernad, Ruben Fleischer (“Superstore”), Nicholas Hatton, Cody Heller (“Dummy”), Todd Schulman,...

Exclusive: Curb Your Enthusiasm alum Jeff Schaffer is set to direct Blow Up the Chat, a new comedy in development at Warner Bros and Temple Hill, sources tell Deadline.
Scripted by Amos Vernon & Nunzio Randazzo, the film watches as a group of best’ friends private and wildly inappropriate, year-long group chat is hacked, which risks upending their individual lives and friendship with one another.
Marty Bowen, Wyck Godfrey, and Isaac Klausner will produce for Temple Hill, with Zach Hamby overseeing the project for Warner Bros.
A nine-time Emmy nominee perhaps best known for showrunning, exec producing and directing HBO’s Curb Your Enthusiasm, which just came to an end after 12 seasons, Schaffer also co-created FX’s acclaimed Lil Dicky comedy Dave, as well as FX’s The League, which ran for seven seasons. In film, Schaffer has directed the DreamWorks sex comedy EuroTrip, also contributing to the writing of Sacha Baron Cohen...

When "Seinfeld" got controversial, it didn't do so in a socially conscious way á la Norman Lear's "All in the Family," nor did it go in for barbed political satire (which may be one reason why its infamous "The Puerto Rican Day" episode landed with such a thud in 1998). Generally, the series crossed lines alongside its hilariously self-absorbed and frequently petty characters, who might get caught up in a competition over who can abstain from pleasuring themselves the longest or worked into a panic over being erroneously outed as gay in a major publication. (Some of these episodes really haven't aged well.)
For the most part, the cast and crew knew what show they'd signed up to appear in or work on, so everyone had a sense as to what subjects might be taboo. There was one time, however, when everyone wasn't on the same page, which resulted in...

There was once a time when it was completely unheard of for a movie star like Harrison Ford to become a series regular on a half-hour TV comedy. The closest we ever came to a Harrison Ford sitcom in the ‘90s was the time the Full House gang briefly attended Disney World’s Indiana Jones stunt show.

The return of a reality TV monster that’s sure to dominate social media conversation; Charlie and Nick’s blossoming romance; a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the NBA courtesy of LeBron James and Anthony Edwards; the latest gem from an action auteur; Tyler Perry’s first Netflix television drama and another helping espionage and drama from Keri Russell are some of the highlights among the new films and series hitting Netflix in October.
Coming in hot on Oct. 2 is the new season of Netflix’s reality dating show Love Is Blind. The seventh go around for the main franchise — the brand has now expanded into several country-specific versions — will see a fresh batch of singles heading into the pods, hoping to find love and marry their match, all within a worryingly compressed timeline. "Seinfeld" could be an incredibly mean show. For peak cruelty, it's hard to top "The Invitations" in which George's fiancée Susan drops dead after licking too many envelopes. The finale is self-consciously nasty in the way it indicts viewers for having been emotionally invested in the lives of these relentlessly awful people for nine seasons. My favorite might be "The Yada Yada," where Jerry is called out as an "anti-dentite" for his dim view of dentists. But the series, created by Seinfeld and Larry David, knew how to go dark without alienating its audience — which is why they scrapped a Season 2 episode called "The Bet."
Unless you're a "Seinfeld" superfan, you might not know of this episode. If you are a "Seinfeld" superfan, you know "The Bet" quite well and have surely read the script that got leaked to the "Lost Media" subreddit earlier this month. It's been something of...

Larry Charles is no stranger to envelope-pushing comedy. As a writer on such subversive series as "Seinfeld" and "The Tick," as well as a director of shows like "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and the Sacha Baron Cohen films "Borat" and "Brüno," he's well-versed in the art of provocation.
Perhaps that's why he was drawn to the material which became the first musical comedy to be produced and distributed by A24, a film which features the family-friendly title of "Dicks: The Musical." The movie is a cinematic adaptation of a Upright Citizens Brigade NY show from 2014 with the even more family-friendly title of "F—ing Identical Twins," written and performed by Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp.
Under Charles' direction, "Dicks" translates the scrappy, raucous, underground theatre vibes of "F—ing Identical Twins" while adding a little bit of star power to Jackson and Sharp's lead performances; the likes of D'Arcy Carden,...

A24’s Dicks — The Musical got the 2023 Toronto Film Festival’s Midnight Madness section off to a raucous, rollicking start as the world premiere of Larry Charles’ campy comedy brought the house down.
The TIFF Midnight Madness crowd came ready to party and the mood was set early, with a swinging, softshoe number by Midnight Madness programmer Peter Kuplowsky, who danced on stage belting out a musical tribute to the festival’s beloved cult-film sidebar. “I’ll be your host for the next 10 midnights, this is only the beginning!” said Kuplowsky. “We have so many outrageous movies for you!”
Dicks — The Musical, Charles’ adaptation of the off-Broadway musical Fucking Identical Twins by Josh Sharp and Aaron Jackson, was the perfect film to kick off the section, said Kuplowsky, because it is a film “where love is love and dicks are dicks!”

You've seen A24 films about somewhat literal man-eating aliens ("Under the Skin"), people being turned into walruses ("Tusk"), farting corpses ("Swiss Army Man"), talking shells ("Marcel the Shell with Shoes On"), and the multiverse ("Everything Everywhere All at Once"). Now, the studio is trying its hand at a musical for the first time with "Dicks: The Musical," a film that, contrary to my expectations the first time I saw that title, is not about singing penises. I mean, A24 only just made a film featuring a giant penis monster, so it wasn't out of the question.
Backing up -- "Dicks: The Musical" comes from relative newcomers Aaron Jackson and Josh Sharp, who both wrote the film -- which is based on their original two-person stage musical "F***ing Identical Twins" -- and star as a pair of obnoxious business bros who find out they're literal twins and conspire to get their divorced parents back together.

“Jury Duty,” the upcoming docu-style comedy series starring James Marsden as himself, explores truths stranger than fiction when one unsuspecting juror is put in a courtroom of actors for a fake case and a faker documentary.
Marsden leads the “Truman Show”-style misadventure, playing a version of himself who tries – and fails – to get out of his civic duty when the judge fails to recognize him as a public figure. In the first trailer for the Amazon Freevee series, which dropped Tuesday, other characters are seen pushing the envelope of what’s acceptable behavior in the literal court of law – while real-life juror Ronald Gladden goes about his duty being none the wiser that everything is staged.

Female composers are shining bright at the 2023 Grammys.
Germaine Franco won best score soundtrack for visual media for composing Encanto, telling the audience she believes she’s the first woman of color to take home the honor.
That was followed by Stephanie Economou’s win for best score soundtrack for video games and other interactive media — a new award at the Grammys. Economou earned the honor for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok.
Franco and Economou were the solo female nominees in their categories.
Franco beat out Hans Zimmer (No Time to Die), Jonny Greenwood (The Power of the Dog), Nicholas Britell (Succession: Season 3) and Michael Giacchino (The Batman). Exclusive: There have been whispers for months about a top-secret courtroom docu-style comedy series filming to run on Amazon Freevee. We can reveal that the project, starring James Marsden, is now in post-production and headed to the screen.
“Freevee has confirmed the existence of the docu-style comedy series but details are under wraps amid speculation of the unique, genre-bending format centered around a jury trial,” a rep for the free, ad-supported platform told Deadline, declining further comment.
The secrecy surrounding the filming was driven by the nature of the semi-improvised series which we hear employs a device similar to the setup used in Sacha Baron Cohen’s Borat and Brüno movies and the series Who Is America? where actors, often in disguise, interact with unsuspecting regular people.

The Oscars has people talking in a way the ceremony has not been able to in years. Unfortunately, it is not so much about the moving acceptance speeches or elaborate production numbers but an ugly incident, in which Oscar nominee (and eventual winner) Will Smith slapped presenter Chris Rock after the latter had directed a not-very-tasteful joke at Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
In an interview with Deadline, Rob Mills EVP Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment at Walt Disney Television, discussed the incident, giving Deadline a behind-the-scenes look at the bombshell incident and its aftermath from his vintage point, overseeing the live ceremony from the control truck.

Lin-Manuel Miranda was not on hand to accept Oscar accolades Sunday night, but his work was certainly well-represented, as his song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” provided the Academy Awards telecast one of its splashier moments, uniting voice-cast members from “Encanto” with additional top music stars.
It’s almost unprecedented for a song that could have been nominated for the best original song Oscar but wasn’t to get a performance on the Oscars. That’s nonetheless what happened for the 2022 show, as Miranda’s more somber ballad, “Dos Oruguitas,” was what got nominated by Disney from “Encanto,” and ultimately nominated. But it’s the romp “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” that unexpectedly became a multi-week No. 1 pop hit, and it was close to a fait accompli that “Bruno” would be the tune the Academy, the “Encanto” camp and families around the world would want to see on the show.

As Deadline broke Monday, Beyoncé has now been officially confirmed to sing in one of the slots of Best Original Song contenders on the 94th Oscars on Sunday. As noted in the Deadline article, speculation is her performance of the nominated song (co-written with Dixson) called “Be Alive” from King Richard will take place via satellite from a Compton tennis court. That aspect, however, was not in the Academy’s long-awaited announcement today of plans for the Best Song presentations on the ABC Oscarcast.
As my colleague Mike Fleming noted, the formal announcement would come after voting closed Tuesday, and indeed it did — exactly at 5 p.m. Pt, which is the same moment ballots had to be in to PricewaterhouseCoopers. The campaign is over. All that is left now is the show itself.

As Oscar voting opens, the guild awards could prove a guide — or bellwether — to who will take home trophies March 27.
Last week’s Costume Designers Guild handed out prizes to “Cruella” (period film), “Dune” (fantasy/sci-fi) and “Coming 2 America” (contemporary).
The CDG has matched Oscar 11 times since 1999 (when the guild first handed out awards) for best costume design with one of their winners. “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” in 2021 was the most recent, and in 2019 it was “Black Panther.” So there’s a good chance that the category’s frontrunners, “Cruella” and “Dune,” will take home the win.
The Makeup and Hairstylist Guild Awards kicked off crafts season in February, awarding “Coming 2 America” three trophies, while “Cruella” took home best period hairstyling. “America” got a boost, as the guild favored the regal styles of the film’s fictional Zamunda over the transformations of Stellan Skarsgard in “Dune,” Jared Leto...

Completing the coveted Egot grants access to one of the most elite clubs in show business. To date, only 16 people have done it. But Lin-Manuel Miranda could soon become the 17th person — and one of the youngest — to join the group, which includes extraordinary talents like Rita Moreno, Mel Brooks, Helen Hayes and Alan Menken.
Miranda has already won three Tony Awards during his fairly young career: one for Best Original Score for the musical “In the Heights,” which opened on Broadway in 2008, and two for the critically acclaimed “Hamilton” (Best Book of a Musical and Best Original Score), which opened in 2015 and quickly became a worldwide sensation. He is also the recipient of three Grammys, winning Best Musical Theater Album for both “In the Heights” and “Hamilton,” as well as Best Song Written for Visual Media for penning “How Far I’ll Go” for Disney’s “Moana” (2016).

We need to talk about Bruno, even if “Encanto” won’t!
Chart-topping song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” is not the official 2022 Oscars submission for the Disney film, and songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda is just fine with that.
“I’m still proud of ‘Dos Oruguitas’ as the submission,” Miranda told Variety. “When those are the parameters, you have to pick the thing that best exemplifies the spirit of the movie, and it contains all of it inside this song — as opposed to a journey of a particular character. It’s the foundational story, but I’m not going to say it wasn’t hard [to choose].”
The decision to nominate “Dos Oruguitas” over “Bruno” was required by November 1, when the animated film had not yet opened in theaters. However, the soundtrack was already making waves. The “Encanto” album spent five weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard charts, with “We Don’t Talk...

Welcome to this week’s “Just for Variety.”
Reggaeton star Adassa, who made her acting debut starring as Dolores in “Encanto,” says she’s “not surprised” that Disney didn’t submit the song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” for Oscar consideration because “Dos Oruguitas,” which is up for best song, is the “heart and soul of the film.” She adds, “Did we know ‘Bruno’ was going to become what it is? No!” Even though it isn’t nominated, Adassa is hoping she will get to perform it at the Oscars: “Hand me the mic. I’m ready for the stage!”
Adassa auditioned for Dolores with a performance of Céline Dion’s “All by Myself.” But then she got Covid. “I was almost dying,” she recalls. “I told doctors I wanted to go home and die with my kids [she and husband Gabriel Candiani have seven children]. So I came home and wrote...

In 2020, Billie Eilish became the second person after Christopher Cross in 1981 and the first woman to win the four general field Grammy categories — Album of the Year, Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best New Artist — in one night. And she may not be done mimicking Cross yet. Thanks to her title track from “No Time to Die,” she could join him as the only people to have the Grammy single-night sweep and the Best Original Song Oscar on their resumes.
Cross had a banner year in 1981, first winning the Big Four Grammys that February following the massive success of his eponymous debut album and his iconic soft rock chart-topper “Sailing.” Later that year, he scored another Billboard No. 1 with “Arthur’s Theme (Best That You Can Do)”, the title song from “Arthur.” Co-written by Cross, Burt Bacharach, Carole Bayer Sager and Peter Allen, the tune won...

Lin-Manuel Miranda is ecstatic about the success of the animated feature “Encanto,” and for his second Oscar nomination for original song — this time, for the emotional number “Dos Oruguitas.” However, the performance of the movie’s soundtrack on the music charts has been getting all the headlines, specifically the hit song, “We Don’t Talk About Bruno.” Miranda doesn’t regret submitting “Dos Oruguitas” rather than “Bruno” for consideration for this year’s Academy Awards. The decision had to be done by Nov. 1, which the film had yet opened in theaters despite its performance on the charts.

HBO’s two-part documentary “The Larry David Story,” in which Larry David, the creator of “Curb Your Enthusiasm” and co-creator of “Seinfeld” looks back at his career, will debut March 1 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt, the cabler said Wednesday. It will also be available to stream on HBO Max.
The two-time Emmy winner reveals he never considered himself funny in the first trailer for the documentary, stating “I’m a total fraud.” He also says he envies the fictionalized version of himself he plays on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”: “This ‘Curb’ guy is who I wanna be. It’s still “Encanto’s” world and everyone else is just living in it. But even with that soundtrack and its song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” continuing their chokehold on the music charts, there was some fresh blood among debuting albums and singles this week, with Yo Gotti, Mitski and the teaming of Nicki Minaj and Lil Baby getting off to strong starts.
Disney’s “Encanto” soundtrack is Not. 1 on the Billboard 200 for the fourth straight week and fifth week overall. And it’s not looking to go away any time soon. This week’s total of 110,000 album-equivalent units represented just a 2% decline from the previous week. According to Billboard, “Encanto” is one of just six soundtracks to have clocked at least five weeks at No. 1 in the last three decades.

In the winnowing down of what was the most pop-star-studded shortlist for best original song in Oscar history, it was inevitable that there would be some big and beloved names left out what that field got narrowed from 15 to five. Among the music stars not making the cut: Jay-Z, U2, Ariana Grande, Kid Cudi, Brian Wilson, Jennifer Hudson, Carole King, Sparks and last year’s winner in the category, H.E.R. Making it: Beyonce, Billie Eilish, Van Morrison, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Diane Warren.

Wegner is joined in her category by Dune‘s Greig Fraser, Nightmare Alley‘s Dan Laustsen, The Tragedy of Macbeth‘s Bruno Delbonnel and West Side Story’s Janusz Kaminski.

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” the fantastically catchy breakout song from Disney’s “Encanto,” topped Billboard’s Hot 100 songs chart for a second week, but it wasn’t alone. Seven more numbers from the animated musical also charted for the week of Jan. 28-Feb. 3.
While “Bruno” reigns in first place, “Colombia, Mi Encanto,” performed by Colombian singer Carlos Vives, debuted in the very last slot, making it the eighth song from the soundtrack to hit the Hot 100, Billboard reports.
The other songs on the chart: “Surface Pressure, “The Family Madrigal, “What Else Can I Do?,” “Dos Oruguitas,” “Waiting On A Miracle,” and “All of You.”

There were no top-10 debuts on the Billboard 200 albums chart for the tracking week of January 28 through February 3. That was good news for the “Encanto” soundtrack, which remained on top for the fourth week. This comes right before the announcement of the Oscar nominations, where “Encanto” is expected to receive at least two bids and has been rising in our odds. Read more about this week’s chart at Billboard.com.
This week “Encanto” achieved 113,000 equivalent album units, which are calculated by combining album sales, individual track sales, and online streams. That’s down only 2% from last week’s units, showing impressive staying power. “Encanto” seems to be the new Adele, as far as the Billboard charts are concerned. The Disney film’s soundtrack and lead single have a lock on the top of the album and song charts for a second straight joint week, enjoying the kind of multi-week domination of both that only Adele’s “30” and “Easy on Me” had seen recently.
And while “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” made it to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 with close to no radio play whatsoever, it now appears that more stations are starting to take a chance on the ensemble song, as it makes its debut this week on two airplay charts.
The “Encanto” soundtrack is on top for its fourth non-successive and third straight week, with 113,000 album-equivalent units. This marks the first time since December that the album has not seen a rise in numbers, but with only a 2% decline from the previous week,...

What do “Frozen” (2013), “Big Hero 6” (2014) and “Zootopia” (2016) all have in common? To date, they are the only three Walt Disney Animation Studios films not co-produced by Pixar to win the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. (See the historical winners.) This year, “Encanto” is hoping to join that esteemed list by becoming Disney’s fourth overall champion. And it’s in a great position to do so, as it currently has leading 37/10 odds to prevail, according to Gold Derby predictions.

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno,” the surprise hit off the “Encanto” soundtrack, has gone where even “Let It Go” couldn’t: It’s become the first song from a Disney movie to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since “A Whole New World” from “Aladdin” did it in 1993.
It joins the “Encanto” album itself as a chart-topper, as the animated film’s soundtrack remains atop the Billboard 200 chart for the third time in the last four weeks.
Some other stats Billboard points out: “Bruno,” solely penned by Lin-Manuel Miranda, becomes the first Hot 100 chart-topper to have been written by a solo writer in more than four years, Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” having been the last. It’s the first time a Miranda tune has topped the chart. And it’s only the second time a Disney song has reached the top, since “A Whole New World” was the...

While Disney chose to submit “Dos Oruguitas” to the Oscars as its representative song from “Encanto,” it is “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” that, ironically, has everyone talking. The earworm has been heard everywhere from TikTok to YouTube covers, hitting No. 1 on the Spotify streaming chart and peaking at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100, surpassing the other ubiquitous Disney song of the past decade, “Let It Go” from 2013’s “Frozen.” It’s possible that Disney is doubting its decision to push “Dos Oruguitas” instead, but the unexpected success of “Bruno” could end up rising all tides for “Encanto” at the Oscars.
Disney could not have predicted the success of “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” — the song and film were released three weeks after the submission deadline — so it can hardly be blamed for going with the more emotional ballad, the kind of song that has won Disney multiple Oscars in the past.

“We don’t talk about ‘Encanto'” is a phrase that may be being said in the Gunna and Weeknd households this week, as both of those hit artists had to step aside to let the smash Disney soundtrack reclaim its No. 1 position atop the Billboard 200 album chart.
“Encanto” continues to grow, with 104,000 album-equivalent units — a 9% increase — pushing it back to the top. Last week’s No. 1, Gunna’s “DS4Ever,” slips a spot to second place with 96,000 units, a decline of 36% from its opening frame. The Weeknd’s “Dawn FM,” which bowed last week at No. 3, also fell a spot, with 61,000 units, representing a decline of 59%.
On the Hot 100 songs chart, meanwhile, “Encanto” also made its presence firmly known. The unlikely hit “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” moved up to No. 2 — held back from the top only by Adele’s long-running streak there — and other tune from the soundtrack,...

“We Don’t Talk About Bruno” from Disney’s “Encanto” is a global sensation. Besides trending on social media, topping the music charts, and being played on repeat in every household with kids (and unapologetic Disney adults), the music and the movie seem to be capturing the zeitgeist. So how does a sensation like “Bruno” not get submitted by Disney for best original song for the upcoming Academy Awards?
Hindsight is always 20/20 on what will strike a chord with audiences, especially for the Oscars. “Encanto” is Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 60th feature and arguably one of its best. Emmy, Grammy and Tony winner Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote eight original songs for the film, including “Dos Oruguitas,” the emotional number that reveals the truth about the Madrigal matriarch’s tragic past, among the 15 songs shortlisted for the upcoming 94th Oscars. Miranda, who received his first Oscar nomination for the song “How Far...

NBCUniversal’s international flight plan for Peacock starts this week: Starting Nov. 16, Sky TV and Now customers in the U.K. and Ireland will get access to the streaming service for no additional fee.
Comcast had announced plans this summer to launch Peacock as a free add-on for Sky’s satellite TV customers in Europe, representing a base of close to 20 million households. Sky TV customers and subscribers to the Now Entertainment package in the U.K. and Ireland will get “early access” to the new ad-supported Peacock destination, with original and library TV shows and movies from across NBCU although the content availability will differ from what’s available on Peacock in the U.

Shailene Woodley, star of “Big Little Lies,” The Secret Life of the American Teenager” and “The Spectacular Now,” has joined Showtime’s upcoming hourlong series “Three Women” as a lead. The drama is a book-to-television adaptation of the nonfiction bestseller of the same name by Lisa Taddeo, who also executive produces the series.
The Pushcart Prize two-time winner and recipient of the Florence Engel Randall Award in fiction (2017) made her nonfiction debut this past summer with “Three Women,” published by Simon & Schuster. It tells the true multigenerational story of three American women— in their 20s, 30 and 40s —who suffered backlash for their sexual desires as well as their public and private pursuits of sexual independence and justice. The novel, which took Taddeo over a decade to research, report and write, remains in the Top 5 of the New York Times bestseller list for nonfiction books. The show is set to begin production in the fall.

The rise in popularity of true crime stories has seen the line between genuine investigation and lurid exploitation become increasingly blurred. With every new Netflix docu-series, podcast episode, and beach-read paperback, content creators are having to go further afield to dig up some crime forgotten to history to recast in a light that often appears oriented for entertainment first, with any richer insights an inadvertent byproduct. Grappling with where the ethical line needs to be drawn in depicting true crime stories requires an entirely different article, but Vincent Le Port’s “Bruno Reidal, Confession of a Murderer,” for almost every minute of its running time, begs the question of what purpose was served in making the film.

The Killer Inside Me: Le Port Mines the Makings of a Murderer in Detached True Crime Sketch
Director Vincent Le Port revisits a chilling murder in 1905 Cantal, France wherein a 17-year-old seminarian decapitated a 13-year-old boy in Bruno Reidal, Confession of a Murderer. Less salacious and more clinically detached than its title otherwise suggests, Le Port weaves an early attempt at criminal psychology in this (mostly) serene recount of a shocking murder when the teenage killer is goaded into writing his memoirs at the behest of a panel of three physicians desiring to know why such a senseless and violent act was committed.…...

It’s summer, everyone! And with its relatively sparse list of new releases for July 2021, Hulu seems to be subtlety imploring its subscribers to go outside.
Don’t get us wrong: Hulu’s library offerings get a big upgrade this month. July 1 sees the arrival of great films like Galaxy Quest, Fargo, and Caddyshack. Bill and Ted Face the Music premieres on July 2 and its followed by Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar on July 9. Not bad stuff! It’s just that, outside of the library titles, there isn’t much to go off of.
Hulu’s only major original release this month is the FX on Hulu production American Horror Stories on July 15. As its name implies, the show is a spinoff of American Horror Story and will feature self-contained horror episodes rather than a season-long arc. If you’ll allow this geriatric millennial to deploy one truly ancient meme: “Yo dawg,...
