Former Nickelodeon star Allie Dimeco recently posted a TikTok video in which she claimed she was once forced to kiss an older male on the set of “The Naked Brothers Band,” in which she starred as Rosalina. The series, created by Polly Draper, used the mockumentary format and starred Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff as fictionalized members of a family rock band. Rosalina was Nat’s love interest on the show, but their relationship hit a speed bump in Season 3 when she had a quick fling with a French man (Jake Hertzog).

At the turn of the 20th century, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon were the top two cable networks marketing toward toddlers, preteens, and teens. Both channels had a variety of shows dedicated to entertaining their audience with musical performances and comedy skits. The biggest shows on the networks combined angst and real-world drama with amusing lines from lovable characters. Due to their similar target audience as well as their hand in producing some of the most iconic series on television, competition between the two networks and their fans would surely ensue.

In the '90s, Nickelodeon premiered live-action sitcoms such as All That, Kenan and Kel, and The Amanda Show alongside legendary cartoons such as SpongeBob Squarepants. While Disney aired sitcoms, they also began a successful run of Disney Channel Original Movies (or DCOMs). Both channels own universally recognizable trademarks and have evolved to encompass television series, merchandise, films, and music.

Nat Wolff has been really famous a couple of times. The first was in 2007, when his show The Naked Brothers Band (based on his real-life musical group) became Nickelodeon’s most popular kids’ series — that was the kind of fame that got him bullied at his New York City middle school. Then, in 2015, he led Paper Towns, the big-screen adaptation of John Green’s blockbuster YA novel — that was the screaming-teen-girls-following-you-on-a-global-press-tour variety.

Deadline reports that Wolff is joining 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn – better known as Eddie Munson from the most recent season of Stranger Things – in the cast of the film.

Exclusive: Alex Wolff has signed on to star opposite the previously announced Kiersey Clemons in Sophie Kargman’s thriller, Susie Searches.

Kargman’s feature directorial debut is based on her 2020 short of the same name, in which she starred alongside Delon de Metz, Sam Lerner, Gabriel Notarangelo and Alison Rich. The darkly comic thriller follows Susie (Clemons), an awkward college student who seizes the opportunity to bolster her popularity—and her overlooked true-crime podcast—by solving the disappearance of a classmate. But as her investigation proceeds, we realize that the truth and Susie aren’t at all what they seem.

Wolff will play Jesse, the charismatic college kid whose disappearance sparks Susie’s investigation. While Jesse has become a campus celebrity thanks to his positivity-themed social media platform, it turns out his private life is much more complicated than his online persona suggests.

Alex Wolff has never been unacquainted with fame. After starring in Nickelodeon’s “The Naked Brothers Band” movie and series when he was a kid alongside his older brother Nat, he quickly rose to stardom as a young actor and musician.

More than 15 years later, Wolff has appeared in a wide array of feature films, from Ad Aster’s unsettling horror film “Hereditary” to the hit “Jumanji” sequels. He now stars alongside Nicolas Cage in “Pig” as a young man named Amir who runs a truffle resale business in Portland. While preparing for the movie, Wolff came to realize how much he had in common with the character he was playing.

“For this role, I rediscovered this part of myself that maybe I was embarrassed about,” Wolff told Variety.

Amir buys truffles from Rob (Cage), a melancholic truffle hunter who lives alone in a cabin in the Oregon wilderness with his beloved pig.

The “Joe Exotic” series at Peacock continues to build out its cast with the addition of Nat Wolff as Travis Maldonado.

Wolff joins previously announced series leads Kate McKinnon, who will play Carole Baskin, and John Cameron Mitchell, who will play Joe Exotic. It was also recently announced that Brian Van Holt would play John Reinke. Maldonado was one of Joe Exotic’s husbands and was prominently featured in the Netflix docuseries “Tiger King.”

Wolff most recently starred in the CBS All Access (now Paramount Plus) limited series adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Stand.” He is also known for his roles in films such as “Palo Alto,” “Paper Towns,” “The Fault in Our Stars,” and “The Kill Team” as well as for starring in the Nickelodeon series “The Naked Brothers Band.” Wolff is also an accomplished stage actor and musician. Onstage, he previously starred in the revival of Sam Shepard’s “Buried Child.

Working on “Human Capital” was a reunion for Alex Wolff and Maya Hawke.

The two play love interests in the indie thriller about a horrific accident that causes two families to fracture as secrets are uncovered and threatened to be exposed.

It turns out that Wolff and Hawke went to pre-school together in New York City. They even dressed as Power Rangers together for Halloween, Wolff, 22, tells me on this week’s episode of “The Big Ticket,” Variety and iHeart’s weekly podcast. “I feel like Maya’s going to deny that she dressed as a Power Ranger for Halloween, and I just want to go on record, she’s lying,” Wolff cracked.

Having enjoyed early success by the time he was 10 with his brother Nat on the 2007-09 Nickelodeon mockumentary series The Naked Brothers Band, which revolved around them and their band and was created by their mom, Thirtysomething actress Polly Draper, Alex since has blossomed into a nuanced actor, sublimely disappearing into gritty parts. Take your pick: There’s Ari Aster’s Hereditary, in which he plays 16-year-old Peter, who, well, has something to do with his sister’s decapitation. Cameron Crowe has reportedly set his sights on Bradley Cooper to star with Emma Stone in his next feature, formerly titled "Deep Tiki", at Sony Pictures.

Madame Bovary

Rhys Ifans ("The Amazing Spider-Man") has joined Sophie Barthes' new adaptation of Gustave Flaubert's classic "Madame Bovary" for Occupant Entertainment. Ifans plays Monsieur Lheureuse, a manipulative merchant.

Mia Wasikowska stars as a married woman who tries to climb the social ladder by engaging in extramarital affairs. Ezra Miller and Paul Giamatti also star. Shooting kicks off next Spring in Europe. [Source: Variety]

Palo Alto

Nat Wolff ("The Naked Brothers Band") has scored a leading role in the dark indie "Palo Alto" based on a collection of short stories by James Franco. The story follows a group of teenagers who have little to do except get into trouble.

• Hugh Jackman is attached to star in Orders to Kill for director Lee Daniels, playing real-life lawyer William Pepper, who has spent his life contending that Martin Luther King, Jr. was not assassinated by James Earl Ray, but by interests keen to silence his opposition to the Vietnam War. The film is based on Pepper’s book of the same name. The historic civil rights leader is a significant figure for both men: Daniels just cast True Blood’s Nelsan Ellis to play King in The Butler, his biopic about Eugene Allen, who worked in the White House for four decades.

There are moments during certain romantic comedies when you might find yourself throwing up your hands and growling, “come on!” under your breath. And with good reason: the improbability of plotlines and inconsistencies of characters are enough to drive even the sappiest of us screaming from the theaters, scouring the streets for the realism and even cynicism that seems to have deserted us over the course of the film. “Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding,” from director Bruce Beresford (“Driving Miss Daisy,” “Tender Mercies”), is not one of these kinds of rom-coms. At least, not entirely. Though wildly predictable from the outset, and undoubtedly sentimental in its bits of hippie-dippie, lovey-dovey wisdom, the movie doesn’t stray too far from the real world, and ultimately drives home an honest and applicable moral about accepting your family, warts and all.

The film wastes no time getting its story off the ground. Dialogue filters in over a black screen.

Kyle Maclachlan (Twin Peaks) and Rosanna Arquette (Pulp Fiction) have now signed on to star in Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding. The cast continues to expand for Bruce Beresford's "Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding" with the additions of Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Nat Wolff. Written by Joseph Muszynski and Christina Mengert, the story focuses on a New York lawyer (Catherine Keener) who decides to take a trip with her two children (Wolff and Elizabeth Olsen) to go and visit her estranged hippie mother (Jane Fonda).Olsen and Marissa O'Donnell are also the newest pieces to the cast for this Bcdf Pictures project. Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato are placed in competition against each other at the upcoming 31st Annual Young Artist Awards. As the Young Artist Foundation unveiled this year's nominees, it is revealed that the two Disney stars and best friends are vying for Leading or Supporting Young Actress title in a category for TV movie, mini-series or special.

Both Selena and Demi received the nomination for their performance as Carter Mason and Rosalinda respectively in "Princess Protection Program". Beside each other, they are also up against two other hopefuls, Tori Barban of "The Christmas Hope" and Patricia Raven of "Dear Harvard".

It's two days before 2009 Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve is kicked off. As a sneak peek to the upcoming star-studded concert, E! News brought forward a video featuring two of the musical guests Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber's rehearsal sessions.

Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve will be started at 10:00 P.M. Et and is going to be broadcast live on ABC. In addition to Selena and Justin, there will also be Black Eyed Peas, Orianthi, Colbie Caillat, Keri Hilson and Robin Thicke rocking the gig.
