Alex Wolff slides into a plush chair at the Mandarin Oriental in New York’s Columbus Circle and orders a massive breakfast. By his own admission, he’s hungover, but he looks perfectly put together in that East Village kind of way. The Nickelodeon star-turned-“Pig” breakout is wearing a hoodie with the words “San Francisco” emblazoned across the front, the type a tourist might pick up at Fisherman’s Wharf, paired with Alex Crane pants. The previous night, he hit the premiere for “A Quiet Place: Day One”; the latest entry in the Paramount horror franchise finds Wolff playing a hospice nurse who convinces a terminal Lupita Nyong’o to trek into the city just as an alien invasion unfolds.
“I never really let loose at a premiere. I just get nervous,” he explains. “And then afterwards, I’ll go to some pub and get wasted.”

Former Nickelodeon star Allie Dimeco recently posted a TikTok video in which she claimed she was once forced to kiss an older male on the set of “The Naked Brothers Band,” in which she starred as Rosalina. The series, created by Polly Draper, used the mockumentary format and starred Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff as fictionalized members of a family rock band. Rosalina was Nat’s love interest on the show, but their relationship hit a speed bump in Season 3 when she had a quick fling with a French man (Jake Hertzog).
Dimeco told her followers that she had been “stressed” while watching “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV,” the buzzy ID Discovery documentary about abuse allegations at Nickelodeon, and said “I went through trauma” of her own during her time at Nickelodeon.

At the turn of the 20th century, Disney Channel and Nickelodeon were the top two cable networks marketing toward toddlers, preteens, and teens. Both channels had a variety of shows dedicated to entertaining their audience with musical performances and comedy skits. The biggest shows on the networks combined angst and real-world drama with amusing lines from lovable characters. Due to their similar target audience as well as their hand in producing some of the most iconic series on television, competition between the two networks and their fans would surely ensue.
In the '90s, Nickelodeon premiered live-action sitcoms such as All That, Kenan and Kel, and The Amanda Show alongside legendary cartoons such as SpongeBob Squarepants. While Disney aired sitcoms, they also began a successful run of Disney Channel Original Movies (or DCOMs). Both channels own universally recognizable trademarks and have evolved to encompass television series, merchandise, films, and music.

Nat Wolff has been really famous a couple of times. The first was in 2007, when his show The Naked Brothers Band (based on his real-life musical group) became Nickelodeon’s most popular kids’ series — that was the kind of fame that got him bullied at his New York City middle school. Then, in 2015, he led Paper Towns, the big-screen adaptation of John Green’s blockbuster YA novel — that was the screaming-teen-girls-following-you-on-a-global-press-tour variety.
Now he’s preparing for the release of a series that features his first starring TV role — and a run alongside Parker Posey and Hari Nef in an off-Broadway adaptation of The Seagull/Woodstock, NY — and feeling further from those days than ever. “A couple of girls followed me home from rehearsals the other day, and it made me realize I barely think about being a child star,” says the 28-year-old over late-morning shrimp tacos in Times Square.

Prime Video has become one of the more underrated streamers when compared to Netflix, HBO Max, Hulu, and its other competitors. While Amazon’s streamer boasts big titles like The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and The Boys, it does, however, lack the abundance of content that the other major players in the streaming game possess. Prime Video isn’t lacking in originality, though. When it does release a new series, you can expect it will typically be able to carve out a niche in its genre of choice.
Enter the much-anticipated Christoph Waltz vehicle, The Consultant. Based on the novel by acclaimed horror writer Bentley Little, this eight-episode first season created by Tony Basgallop (Servant) has largely been marketed as a black comedy by Amazon and various media outlets in the months before release. Nat Wolff has been in the spotlight since the early years of his adolescence, starring alongside his brother Alex on Nickelodeon's hit series "The Naked Brothers Band." After the show came to an end in 2009, Wolff went on to further his career with roles in films like "The Fault in Our Stars," "Paper Towns," "Palo Alto," and more. Wolff has also continued working on music with his younger brother under their band name Nat & Alex Wolff. They recently dropped a new single titled "Head's on Loose."
While juggling his career, Wolff - who is set to star as Craig in Prime Video's new series "The Consultant" out Feb. 24 - has also been involved in his fair share of public romances. In the late 2000s, he dated fellow Nickelodeon star Miranda Cosgrove. While their teen romance fizzled out after some time, Wolff has since been linked to a handful of other celebs,...

Alex Wolff of Hereditary worked with director Michael Sarnoski on his Nicolas Cage drama Pig (watch it Here), and now Wolff and Sarnoski are set to team up again on Sarnoski’s latest directing endeavor: the A Quiet Place spin-off A Quiet Place: Day One. Deadline reports that Wolff is joining 12 Years a Slave Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o and Joseph Quinn – better known as Eddie Munson from the most recent season of Stranger Things – in the cast of the film.
Jeff Nichols (Midnight Special) was attached to write and direct A Quiet Place: Day One for a while, but when he dropped out he was replaced by Sarnoski. The story does take place in the same world established in the first two movies, but apparently doesn’t involve the Abbott family, the characters we followed through the two movies directed by John Krasinski.

Exclusive: Alex Wolff has signed on to star opposite the previously announced Kiersey Clemons in Sophie Kargman’s thriller, Susie Searches.
Kargman’s feature directorial debut is based on her 2020 short of the same name, in which she starred alongside Delon de Metz, Sam Lerner, Gabriel Notarangelo and Alison Rich. The darkly comic thriller follows Susie (Clemons), an awkward college student who seizes the opportunity to bolster her popularity—and her overlooked true-crime podcast—by solving the disappearance of a classmate. But as her investigation proceeds, we realize that the truth and Susie aren’t at all what they seem.
Wolff will play Jesse, the charismatic college kid whose disappearance sparks Susie’s investigation. While Jesse has become a campus celebrity thanks to his positivity-themed social media platform, it turns out his private life is much more complicated than his online persona suggests.
Kargman wrote the script with William Day Frank.

Alex Wolff has never been unacquainted with fame. After starring in Nickelodeon’s “The Naked Brothers Band” movie and series when he was a kid alongside his older brother Nat, he quickly rose to stardom as a young actor and musician.
More than 15 years later, Wolff has appeared in a wide array of feature films, from Ad Aster’s unsettling horror film “Hereditary” to the hit “Jumanji” sequels. He now stars alongside Nicolas Cage in “Pig” as a young man named Amir who runs a truffle resale business in Portland. While preparing for the movie, Wolff came to realize how much he had in common with the character he was playing.
“For this role, I rediscovered this part of myself that maybe I was embarrassed about,” Wolff told Variety.
Amir buys truffles from Rob (Cage), a melancholic truffle hunter who lives alone in a cabin in the Oregon wilderness with his beloved pig.

Working on “Human Capital” was a reunion for Alex Wolff and Maya Hawke.
The two play love interests in the indie thriller about a horrific accident that causes two families to fracture as secrets are uncovered and threatened to be exposed.
It turns out that Wolff and Hawke went to pre-school together in New York City. They even dressed as Power Rangers together for Halloween, Wolff, 22, tells me on this week’s episode of “The Big Ticket,” Variety and iHeart’s weekly podcast. “I feel like Maya’s going to deny that she dressed as a Power Ranger for Halloween, and I just want to go on record, she’s lying,” Wolff cracked.
In the movie, Wolff plays a loner with anger issues. He’s very similar to the high schooler he plays in “The Cat and the Moon,” which also marked his feature film writing and directing debut.

Does an actor who writes a part for himself, then directs himself in that part, become a trio of collaborators or an unruly split personality? Not that either scenario can’t make for an interesting film, but outside of a handful of rock-star examples, usually starting with that “Citizen Kane” dude, it’s the kind of ambition that rarely reveals mastery of all three disciplines.
Twenty-one-year-old Alex Wolff, an ex-Nickelodeon star who lay to rest plenty of child-actor baggage last year with his searing turn as Toni Collette’s teenage son in “Hereditary,” hasn’t always been just a performer, having written music for the kid series he headlined with brother Nat (“The Naked Brothers Band”) and even a play that his actor-director mother Polly Draper staged at a small theater in New York. Some parents pull strings to enroll their kids in their alma mater. In Hollywood, celebrity parents have been hammering together family showcases for their progeny — backyard plays elevated to the screen — and taking their own bows as writer, director, producer, or co-star. Earlier this summer was “The Year of Spectacular Men,” Lea Thompson and Howard Deutch’s salute to their daughters Madelyn and Zoey, and the most recent endowment is “Stella’s Last Weekend,” by actress-turned-filmmaker Polly Draper, which stars her sons Nat and Alex Wolff as two brothers dragged across the threshold of maturity over a dramatic weekend with one virginity loss, one fraternal betrayal, and one dying dog, the Stella of the title.
It’s inaccurate to consider “Stella’s Last Weekend” merely an expensive gift from Draper to her sons. Nat and Alex are both sought-after young actors who, since their days together on Nickelodeon’s “The Naked Brothers Band,...

To mark the release of My Friend Dahmer, out now, we’ve been given 3 copies to give away on DVD.
Jeffrey Dahmer murdered seventeen men and boys in the Midwest United States between 1978 and 1991 before being captured and incarcerated. This is the story before that story.
Jeff Dahmer is an awkward teenager who collects roadkill. It’s the end of his junior year and he’s practically invisible. His family life (Anne Heche as Joyce Dahmer) is coming undone. He fixates on a neighborhood jogger who routinely passes by his house. By the start of senior year, he acts out, throwing epileptic-like fits in the halls. His goofball antics win over a group of band-nerds who form The Dahmer Fan Club headed by Backderf. This camaraderie can’t mask his growing depravity as approaching graduation Jeff spirals further out of control.
Please note: This competition is open to UK residents...

Everyone in the thriller Hereditary is downright terrifying. As Annie, the matriarch of the Graham family, Toni Collette gave us chills. As for her little girl, Charlie? While she's adorable at first, things with her get ugly fast. And we don't even know how to start discussing the scenes featuring Annie's son, Peter, bashing his head against a desk - it's enough to give you instant nightmares.
Like us, in between screaming and being horrified at what you were seeing, you might have taken a moment to wonder where in the world you know Peter Graham from. The answer: lots of places.
You might recognize the actor, Alex Wolff, from a string of recent movies. He briefly pops up as "Young Spencer" (or the younger version of Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's character) in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, as well as John "Derf" Backderf, the good...

Alex Wolff delights in terrifying people. The star of Ari Aster’s Sundance sensation, “Hereditary,” is already collecting reactions to the horror breakout, and it’s the shortest ones that stick with him the most. “The best one is, ‘What the hell?,'” he said in an interview. “People come out [of the film] and they just go, ‘Oh my God, wow.’ They’re completely just taken aback by the movie. It’s the ideal situation.”
The film, Aster’s feature debut, premiered in the festival’s Midnight section this past January, where it instantly captivated and terrified its audience. And that terror hasn’t abated in the months leading up to the film’s wide release from indie distributor A24, which brought the film to Sundance and later signed Aster’s next film, reported to be the company’s biggest production yet. “Hereditary” follows a fractured family, including mom Annie (Toni Collette...

Life imitated art for Asa Butterfield and Alex Wolff in their new movie The House of Tomorrow.
The film tells the story of an outcast teen named Sebastian, played by Butterfield, who befriends a young, budding punk rocker named Jared, played Wolff.
Just like their onscreen counterparts, Wolff and Butterfield developed a student-teacher relationship when it came to learning to play their instruments.
“I taught Asa bass, so all the scenes with music, all of that is live. None of that is with overdubs, none of it is us doing overdubs or another musician, we’re doing it live and on the day.

Making tracks for the depths of the jungle to join Dwayne Johnson and Co., news of Jumanji rounding out its starry ensemble hailed from both Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter, after the latter confirmed that Alex Wolff, rising star behind The Naked Brothers Band, has joined the continuation as Spencer. If that name rings a bell, it should. Back when Johnson unveiled the first concept art of his hulking Dr. Smolder Bravestone, a masthead teased that Bravestone would actually be the in-game avatar for Spencer and, thanks to THR’s report, we now have confirmation that that is indeed the case.

• Hugh Jackman is attached to star in Orders to Kill for director Lee Daniels, playing real-life lawyer William Pepper, who has spent his life contending that Martin Luther King, Jr. was not assassinated by James Earl Ray, but by interests keen to silence his opposition to the Vietnam War. The film is based on Pepper’s book of the same name. The historic civil rights leader is a significant figure for both men: Daniels just cast True Blood’s Nelsan Ellis to play King in The Butler, his biopic about Eugene Allen, who worked in the White House for four decades.

There are moments during certain romantic comedies when you might find yourself throwing up your hands and growling, “come on!” under your breath. And with good reason: the improbability of plotlines and inconsistencies of characters are enough to drive even the sappiest of us screaming from the theaters, scouring the streets for the realism and even cynicism that seems to have deserted us over the course of the film. “Peace, Love, & Misunderstanding,” from director Bruce Beresford (“Driving Miss Daisy,” “Tender Mercies”), is not one of these kinds of rom-coms. At least, not entirely. Though wildly predictable from the outset, and undoubtedly sentimental in its bits of hippie-dippie, lovey-dovey wisdom, the movie doesn’t stray too far from the real world, and ultimately drives home an honest and applicable moral about accepting your family, warts and all.
The film wastes no time getting its story off the ground. Dialogue filters in over a black screen.

His mother was not enthusiastic at first, since she didn't want her children exposed to the entertainment culture at such a young age. It involved Polly pretending to interview Nat's friends in a mock documentary chronicling their life as fictional young rock stars. She took over as writer, producer, and director of this project,...
