Legendary composer Ilayaraja, who bagged the National Award for the best background score for Malayalam film Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja, says he never thinks about awards while composing music. When asked whether he expected the award, he said: "I don't think about awards and such diversions. I think only about music." Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 15 – Mammootty missed out on the best actor award but the Malayalam superstar says he his happy that two films he acted in – ‘Kutty Srank’ and ‘Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja’ – had bagged eight national awards between them. ‘Kutty Srank’ director Shaji N. Karun too said he was overjoyed.

‘Honestly, I feel proud that the films I acted in have won eight awards. I feel really happy. You see my job is to act and I will keep on acting and try my best,’ Mammootty told Ians over the phone from Shimoga in Karnataka,.

Charmme About to be Charmed by Mammootty
Charmme is about to team up in another Malayalam film with Megastar Mammootty, who is currently basking in the success of his megahit Pazhassi Raja. She will star with him in Dronar. She is already working in another Mollywood film – with Dileep in Aagathan.

Charmme, winner of a Best Actress Award for Mantra, is having an excellent year, having already taken the lead role in Laadam, a Tamil remake of the British gangster movie Media:Lucky Number Slevin. In addition, she has starred in Manorama, a serious film about terrorism with Ajay - and Kavya’s Diary, in which she plays a negative role in a movie similar to The Hand That Rocked the Cradle. She also presented a stunning item number in Mahatma.

Shahrukh Khan in Mammootty Movie
The most expensive Mollywood movie ever made, the historical epic Pazhassi Raja has been the big Diwali hit in Kerala and elsewhere this weekend, with over 500 prints produced. Starring Mammootty in the title role, the film tells the tragic tale of the epic rebellion of Pazhassi Raja, an early king of Kerala at the end of the 18th century, who led an army of Nairs and Kurichiyas, armed with little more than swords and bows and arrows, who fought the British to a standstill for more than ten years in the forests of the south. The movie has been compared to recent Chinese-made epics such as Hero or Red Cliff. The film opens with a narration from Shahrukh Khan in the Hindi version, which the great man provided for free as he comes from a family of freedom fighters and wanted to support the project.

Shah Rukh Khan introduces Mammootty in Pazhassi Raja, no fee taken!!
Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of bollywood who is famous for his generous acts for friendly producers (recall Sushmita Sen starrer Vivek Vaswani.s .Dulha Mill Gaya.) and directors, has introduced southern super star Mammootty in the Hindi version of upcoming flick .Pazhassi Raja.. Shah Rukh has already dubbed the prologue gratis for the flick that will bring Mammootty as Pazhassi Raja on the screen. Sources say that King Khan not only did it on the request of director T Hariharan, who had gone to meet him during a shoot in Film City, but also refused to charge any money for his obliging act. The buzz doing the rounds in the industry is that Shah Rukh Khan was very impressed with the subject of the film, which is based on a freedom fighter during the British era and so decided to forgo his remuneration for the friendly gesture.

The Oscar winning sound designer Resool Pukkuty, who won hearts of millions for his work in the Oscar winning movie ‘Slumdog Millionaire’, is now back with his first Indian movie after Slumdog’s Success. The movie titled ‘Pazhassi Raja’ will be released in 5 different languages including Hindi and English. The movie features stalwarts like Mammoothy, Sarath Kumar and many others.
