Big Fish in Middlesex

Living not too far from Middlesex, in a similar small town, this movie was very memorable for me. The general hopelessness and lack of ambition displayed by most of the characters is eerily reminiscent of many of my own friends growing up in a small southern town. This movie shows viewers, with humour, crudeness, and surprising honesty - how easy it is to slip into a dark, dangerous world, even when you live in a "safe place." Big Fish in Middlesex is not necessarily the sort of film you will watch again and again. Rather, it is a film that you will watch once and never forget. If you live in a small town, you may see a glimpse of yourself in the movie. Hopefully, however, you'll see what might have been if you hadn't escaped that vicious cycle.

Hi. This was an excellent movie and i think that the actor Michael Wingfield, who played "Turtle" in this movie, did a great acting job and i hope to see him in bigger movies! I think that all of the other actors and actresses also performed well but i honestly believe that t was Michael who stood out of the crowd! I also think that the shooting was very well and it made the movie seem extremely professional. Also i thought that the script was written very well and the storyline was thought out very nicely. I think that all of the actors and actresses who won B movie awards for this movie deserved it! I know that MIchael Wingfield won a few awards for this and those were good decisions. i would also like to point out that the movie itself won quit a few awards and you can look those up on the B movie award website if you want to. I am really looking forward to seeing these actors and actresses, especially Michael Wingfeild, progress to become extremely well known! Good Luck.

I rented this because of the synopsis and 8.1 rating. The opening in the liquor store was good, showing potential for a good story. The second vignette where there is confrontaion and the boys stay out all night was fine. Then they ran the credits as the adult boys were coming home well after the sunrise. For me it fell apart in 5 minuted and I turned it off. My wife liked it less than I did.

This independent film has an outstanding story line, well written, superb cinematography, amazing music and the directing is professional. Actors exhibit much talent and believability, this is a director to put on your A list and watch! A TEN ALL The Way. An early film by this director/writer but you can see and feel the overwhelming talent even if you haven't seen his more recent films. A special mention needs to be made about the editing which as any independent film maker knows is the heart of the film. Straiton is an expert at editing - this is one gifted film maker. After viewing you can see why this movie took all the best awards at the B Movie Festival.
