When I found season 1 and 2 of Young Dracula at the Library I said: "wow! this is going to be so cool!" So I got it straight away! And when I was in the car I was determined to see it.So I got home very quickly!!!When I was watching season 1 I found it very interesting! And I always say: Never judge a DVD/book by its cover!(Even though I loved the cover)! And then I watched season 2 and "the chosen one"(Vlad)Makes it very interesting! And from then on it was my favorite movie! I was so determined to find season 3 in the Library! And after 2 weeks I found it!It was SO interesting!I request you should watch it !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sophie (7 years old)
started watching this program because my 10 year old daughter put it on,now its me that watches it and she just ignores it,they are showing repeats on BBC,the new series 4 should start in the autumn.Keith lee castle who plays the count is a really good actor and a dish/eye candy for the mums, and the children in it are excellent,a very good cast and story line.we have been past the locations were it was filmed in series 3 unfortunately not while they were there.hoping they will be showing more locations in series 4 as indicated on you tube.really hoping they will be putting the other 3 series on DVD really soon.i think the show would appeal to a mixed age group.
The first three seasons are a campy and fun family-friendly comedy similar to American TV series' The Munsters and The Addams Family. The show is enjoyable if it is not taken seriously. There are silly plots and odd camera angles.
After a short hiatus, the show returned in season four with a much darker and serious approach. The cast of supporting characters got much more intriguing in the final two seasons. Which approach is better depends on one's personal preference, but both are well done.
One thing all five seasons have in common is the unfortunate sexist approach to female characters, especially Clare Thomas's Ingrid. She is constantly denigrated specifically for being "a girl." This might have started off as a running joke, but it became a primary theme of the show.

This is on of the only shows I watched as a child which I still rewatch to this day. It's funny, gothic, and campy in a similar way to the Addams family.
One of my early alternative style influences, I'm now 23 and it's one of my favourite vampire shows/films. I have bonded with so many people over the nostalgia of this series.
Great to show to a young alternative/ gothic person. Also a great introduction to the many versions of Dracula as it is so child friendly yet uses characters and names from the bram stokers Dracula .
Highly recommend to anyone young and old. It will be a great show to one day watch with my future children.
