FAQ

The Money

Tropfest is the world's largest short film festival. It began in 1993 as a screening at a cafe in Sydney, Australia, and has since become the largest platform for short films in the world.

The festival has expanded to international locations, including Abu Dhabi, Africa, Bangkok, Berlin, Japan, London, New York, Toronto and Turkey.

Past judges have included Cate Blanchett, Rose Byrne, Toni Collette, Russell Crowe, Samuel L. Jackson, Nicole Kidman, Ewan McGregor, Keanu Reeves, Geoffrey Rush, Naomi Watts and John Woo. The festival director is John Polson.

It is the biggest premiere a short film can receive anywhere in the world.

Any filmmaker can enter. To be eligible, the film must be seven minutes or less, cannot have screened prior to the festival and must include the Tropfest Signature Item, to prove the film was made specifically for the festival.

Further information can be found at www.tropfest.com
