Richard Dreyfuss and Nia Vardalos in Vacances à la grecque (2009)

Trivia

Vacances à la grecque

Edit
The first Hollywood movie to be given permission to film at the Acropolis since Ombres sous la mer (1957). The Greek government had previously refused all requests for fear that a film crew would disrupt this archaeologically sensitive site, but according to an article in Britain's Guardian newspaper, made an exception for this film because they thought that it would help to promote Greek culture.
Irv's dead wife Elinor is played by Rita Wilson, who is also one of the executive producers, along with her husband Tom Hanks.
Ian Gomez, who appears as the creepy Hotel Clerk, was the real life husband of Nia Vardalos.
Although this film is not a sequel to Mariage à la grecque (2002), the Italian title was changed into "Le mie grosse grasse vacanze greche" ("My Big Fat Greek Holidays") thus adding confusion on this being a completely new film.
Rachel Dratch and Nia Vardelos were in Second City improvisers together.
