As February dwindles and March nears, more of the biggest companies in media will begin reporting their quarterly earnings. That trend continued on Wednesday, when Paramount Global revealed its earnings report for the fourth quarter of 2024. As part of the report, Paramount informed analysts that its streaming service Paramount+ had grown to 77.5 million customers, a jump of 5.6 million over the 72 million subscribers it claimed at the end of the third quarter.

Paramount’s direct-to-consumer (Dtc) operations — which include both Paramount+ and Pluto TV — grew by $204 million year-over-year and Paramount+’s average revenue per user (Arpu) was up 1% year-over-year. Over the course of six seasons, The Sopranos introduced dozens of compelling characters and wove them into countless dramatic storylines. While Tony Soprano was undoubtedly the main focus throughout the series, in showing both his criminal and family life, the writers introduced audiences to a host of gangsters and Soprano family members with their own motivations and quirks. For many viewers, the mobsters that worked with or against Tony were probably the most interesting but, in terms of the show's themes, it was actually his children that were the more important characters.

A.J. and Meadow certainly aren't the most exciting members of the Soprano family. Indeed, some fans have expressed frustration and disappointment at A.J.'s character arc in particular, finding him alternatively boring and annoying. However, this becomes difficult with Ruby’s active sex life and high body count. To keep track of everyone involved, Aj creates a “sex timeline” that outlines everyone Ruby slept with, their background, when they had sex, what specific acts they did, and any identifying details about their genitalia.

Although many Baldur's Gate 3 players thought that Patch 7 would be the final update, Larian Studios has confirmed an eighth major update to be coming to the game in 2025. This update will include cross-play support for people to play together who use different devices, a new photo mode, and brand-new animations, abilities, and cantrips. The developers have also stated that they have more planned when it comes to creating tools for mods.

Undeniably, the biggest part of the new update is how 12 new subclasses are being added to the game - one for each available class. Executives at Comcast confirmed Wednesday morning that the company is advancing with its spin-off of cable networks and other media assets.

The spin-off will involve CNBC, MSNBC, USA Network, SyFy, E!, Golf Channel and Oxygen True Crime, executives confirmed in a memo sent to employees. The company will also divest digital assets like Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, Sports Engine and Golf Now into the newly-formed company.

The process could take about a year to complete, Comcast President Mike Cavanagh wrote in the memo. Last month, Cavanagh told investors on a conference call that Comcast was weighing the spin-off of cable networks into a “well-capitalized company owned by our shareholders.”

Screenager Productions, the team behind 2021’s Satan’s Servant, is back later this month with the brand new indie horror movie Welcome Week: A College Horror Anthology.

The CW, continuing a live sports push under new majority owner Nexstar, is bringing back a storied college football tradition: the Snoop Dogg Arizona Bowl Presented By Gin & Juice By Dre and Snoop.

The game, which is entering its 10th year, will feature two bowl-eligible teams from the Mountain West Conference and Mid-American Conference. The CW will air it live from Arizona Stadium in Tucson on the afternoon of Saturday, December 28.

Last year’s edition of the game was sponsored by Barstool Sports. In college football, it is routine for bowl games to rotate through various sponsorships even if the game stays in a given location, though the new branding is certainly a mouthful.

After years without a college football video game, EA Sports College Football 25 is set to release in July 2024 for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Cover stars for the game include Donovan Edwards, Quinn Ewers, and Travis Hunter, representing teams from Michigan, Texas, and Colorado.
