Gal Gadot's 'Wonder Woman' success has been "life-changing".The 39-year-old actress played the central character in the 2017 superhero movie, and Gal admits that it's changed the course of her career.Gal - who reprised the role in 'Justice League' and 'Wonder Woman 1984' - told Variety: "To do the solo 'Wonder Woman' movie with a partner like Patty Jenkins was life-changing."I think we both felt like we were just a vessel to tell a story that is much bigger than us, that the world was ready for - a complete, empowered woman who is strong and at the same time vulnerable."Patty, 53, directed the 2017 film, and she relished the experience of working with Gal, describing the actress as a "top-tier, classic movie star".The filmmaker shared: "My favourite moments with Gal have been when she donned the Wonder Woman costume to greet children in need.

The first time Gal Gadot visited the Hollywood Walk of Fame almost two decades ago, she had a premonition of her future in entertainment. “Between Madame Tussauds and the Hollywood stars, I remember walking there for the first time when I was 23 and seeing people dressed like superheroes,” she remembers. “And they had Wonder Woman there!”
On March 18, Gadot will be there again, and this time she’ll receive her own star. But even after donning Wonder Woman’s red, black and gold costume multiple times on film — amid delivering a dozen other movie-star turns — the Israeli-born actress seems no less gobsmacked at the prospect of being immortalized by the honor. “I think that it’s going to take me time before I even realize that it’s real,” she tells Variety. “I don’t think that ever in my life I would dream to be able to go through...

It is very unusual for an actor at an audition to promote the candidacy of another at his own expense, but believe it or not, this is exactly what Michael Fassbenderreveals he did during his auditions for James Bond. At the said auditions, held to name a replacement for Pierce Brosnan, Fassbender found himself advocating for Daniel Craig, a move that, in hindsight, played a pivotal role in shaping the franchise's future. Craig ultimately beat out several other contenders to succeed Brosnan, and went on to appear in five Bond films, including Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012), Spectre (2015), and No Time to Die (2021).

Ever since Sean Connery brought James Bond to life in Dr. No (1992), the name became synonymous with Hollywood’s quintessential spy. Over time, actor after actor took over the mantle, and the last time we saw the 007 agent, he had Daniel Craig’s face. With a powerful and deeply personal take on the character, the actor gave us a brooding and grounded James Bond, considered as one of the best in franchise history. But even the best of the best have a point where they stumble and fall.

While many would say that the ultimate film of his 007 career, No Time to Die (2021), wasn’t up to the mark, we will have to disagree. There is at least one film that deserves the last spot more than No Time to Die – Quantum of Solace.

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced,” said James Baldwin. And maybe that’s where we find ourselves today, staring down a big, bold, and undoubtedly complicated change in the iconic James Bond franchise. You see, when Amazon swooped in and purchased MGM for a staggering $8.5 billion, it snagged an impressive array of properties.
However, the spy franchise remained the crown jewel of the deal and it wasn’t just Henry Cavill’s Bond dreams that hung in the balance. No, something bigger was at stake—something far more fundamental to the legacy of 007.

James Bond fans are waiting on tenterhooks for the next movie in the franchise following Amazon MGM Studios' groundbreaking purchase of the IP. Many have taken to social media to share their divisive reactions to Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson's departure from the franchise, and joking about the commercial direction Amazon will take the franchise. While many fans' opinions come from outside the Hollywood system, even insiders are skeptical of the purchase, with William Boyd, an author and screenwriter who has worked on the James Bond franchise, being the latest to share their disgruntled reactions.
During an interview with The Guardian, William Boyd revealed his skepticism towards Amazon MGM Studios' purchase of the James Bond franchise. Before Daniel Craig became the detective with the weirdest accent ever in the Knives Out franchise, he played James Bond for fifteen years. While his debut as Agent 007 revolutionized the franchise and brought it to a whole new generation, his series of films were filled with both hits and misses.
Craig’s sophomore film Quantum of Solace faced several hurdles before making it to production. Plagued with a writer’s strike shortly before production began, Craig called the filming process a nightmare as the studio went ahead without a proper script. It shows as it is considered one of the weakest Bond films in the franchise.

"Quantum of Solace" may be the most baffling entry in the entire "James Bond" franchise. Sure, you have to throw other oddities into contention, like "A View to a Kill" or "Octopussy" ... but enough about the end of Roger Moore's "Bond" run (it can't hurt us anymore). For all the "grounded" grittiness of the Daniel Craig era, this last chapter of 007 history brought a couple of duds in the form of "Quantum of Solace" and "Spectre." The former, however, is far more of a mess, starting with the title itself, which still confounds many a casual viewer.
The name "Quantum of Solace" actually comes from an Ian Fleming short story. Far from the tales of espionage that normally make up the "James Bond" film universe, the story takes place at an aristocratic dinner party attended by 007. The main subject of conversation is domestic drama, with the title being connected...

As far as iconic film franchises go, few do it better than the British super-spy James Bond. For over 60 years, the espionage series has followed the exploits of Bond, the ultimate gentleman spy, with a keen taste for sophistication. That stylish detail carries over to Bond's choice in automobiles, both used practically to get around his globe-hopping destinations and often fully stocked with lethal extras installed. Just like the many memorable women that Bond has romantic dalliances with, Agent 007 is rarely seen with the same car in more than one movie.
From the fully submersible to the reliable set of wheels to get through windy roads in the middle of a high-speed chase, Bond has an extensive array of cars. Though many of the makes and models gradually change over time, that classic sense of distinction never diminishes.

James Bond is heading into a new era with Amazon MGM Studios taking over creative control of the 60-year-old franchise, and following the departure of Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, another veteran of the industry has shared their views on the change in leadership after making their own decision to step away from the franchise. Long-term casting director Debbie McWilliams had already made her decision to retire from the world of Bond before the recent bombshell announcement, but as per Screen Daily, was more than happy to share her own unenthusiastic view on the future of the saga.

After six decades under the creative guidance of Cubby Broccoli and then Barbara Broccoli, the news that the franchise was handing over creative control to Amazon MGM Studios was not received well by many fans, who have decried the move as the death of the franchise, and the beginning of a huge wave of cash-grab spinoffs that will water down the franchise to a pointless husk. Very similar comments to those made about Disney taking over the Alien and Predator franchises…just saying.

Acclaimed director Christopher Nolan might be lined up to helm the next James Bondfilm thanks to Amazon MGM Studios.
Per a new report from Puck (via ScreenRant), the recent change of hands that the James Bond franchise went through has greatly increased Nolan's chances of directing the next entry in the series. 63 years later, James Bond still remains one of the most entertaining and iconic characters in cinema history. Very early on in Bond's history, the format became established that various iterations of the character and his adventures could be portrayed on screen. After Sean Connery's legendary run as the character, many other actors have embodied the role and brought something new to Ian Fleming's material. However, given that the films are based on novels, there are a lot of opportunities for the lore of James Bond's world to overlap from generation to generation. Such was the case when Casino Royale in 2006 touched on material that had already been adapted. That aspect of the films has been a lot of fun and keeps Fleming's original creation intact.

The shocking announcement was made yesterday that Amazon MGM Studios was taking complete creative control of the James Bond franchise, and to say fans are concerned would be an understatement. After all, Bond is one of the few remaining series left that hasn’t been tainted by spin-offs or things of that ilk, as longtime producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson have always worked hard to keep its integrity intact. With them now stepping aside, however, there's a very real possibility that the Bond franchise could go from feeling like event cinema to just another IP.

The iconic and intrepid action hero James Bond has faced all manner of danger over the years...but his biggest challenge yet could play out in the courts. The beloved spy is now facing a bizarre claim against one of his most famous assets, his name, after a Dubai-based property developer filed claims in the UK and Europe that the owners of “James Bond” are “not using the trademark across a range of goods and services.” Which could mean that the company wins the rights to use 007’s famous name.
According to a report by The Guardian, the trademark on “James Bond” is owned by US-based company Danjaq, controlling the rights to merchandising alongside Eon. Now, they are in a fight to keep the name safe after Austrian businessman Josef Kleindienst “filed a slew of what are known officially as 'cancellation actions based on non-use' targeting the James Bond name.

After "Casino Royale," the very best Bond movie ever made, debuted in 2006, Sony Pictures and longtime Bond custodians Eon Productions delivered what is still seen as a historic blunder of a follow-up. "Quantum of Solace" was, in fact, one of the biggest disasters in 007 history, but not for the reasons claimed at the time. Despite making $591 million worldwide, claims that the film was, as Joe Morgenstern of the Wall Street Journal surmised, "a model of mediocrity," became the dominant view, and Eon got spooked.
The company went back to the drawing board, bringing on "American Beauty" and "Revolutionary Road" director Sam Mendes to helm Bond's next outing. Then came another blow: In 2010, MGM, which had distributed all of the Eon Bond films, went bankrupt.

Did Angelina Jolie refuse to be a Bond Girl? ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Alas, Angelina Jolie turned down the opportunity. Why? Well, she wasn’t looking to be the Bond Girl. She wanted to be Bond herself.
It all started when Sony Pictures’ Amy Pascal made the first move, reaching out to Jolie with the classic offer: play a Bond Girl. But Jolie wasn’t feeling it. “I said, ‘No, I’m not comfortable with that, but I would like to play Bond,'” she admitted. Sure, it was a bold request, but Jolie was a force of nature in Hollywood.
The idea of being a glamorous sidekick wasn’t appealing to her. The joke went something like this: “We laughed,” she recalled, but the idea stuck with her.

Daniel Craig's new A24 movie is now available to watch at home following his Golden Globe nomination. The English actor is widely known to audiences for his portrayal of the impossibly suave secret agent in five James Bond movies – Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die. Since his final portrayal in 2021, the 007 franchise has been conducting an exhaustive search for a new James Bond actor, allowing Craig to branch out and experiment with other roles.
Other than Bond, Craig is best known for his portrayal of the Southern sleuth, Benoit Blanc, in Rian Johnson's Knives Out movies, including the original 2019 film, its 2022 sequel Glass Onion, with a third, Wake Up Dead Man, on the way in 2025. For the first two films, Craig received Golden Globe nominations for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. In 2024, Craig starred in an A24 movie,...

Adele is one of the most accomplished singers of her generation. In addition to being one of the world's best-selling musicians, she's won 16 Grammys, 18 Billboard Music Awards, 12 Brit Awards, five American Music Awards, and among her other accolades, her "Skyfall" theme got James Bond an Oscar.
James Bond movies have followed a winning formula that's kept 007 on movie screens for 60+ plus years, and that formula follows a few trademarks: Beautiful women, super-villain lairs with death traps, lots of guns, terrible puns, etc. Before the adventure truly kicks off, though, Bond films must have a lavish title sequence with a custom-composed song.
The first two Bond films, "Dr. No" and "From Russia With Love," actually used instrumental openings. Then for the third (and some say best) Bond film, "Goldfinger," the theme song had lyrics -- written by Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse, and sung by Shirley Bassey. "Goldfinger" the song is...

Shōgun star Cosmo Jarvis is one of a handful of names rumored to be in the running to play the next James Bond. Jarvis has heard the rumors, and he took a moment to comment on them at the Golden Globes on Sunday night, where Shõgun was nominated for multiple awards.

Stuttering, Jarvis answered, “Uh, uh, I don’t know how to construct a….”
He then settled on, “I wish them all the best in their search.”

Quick Links The Story Behind 'The Trench' What Daniel Craig Brings to 'The Trench' The Cinematic Value of 'The Trench'
English actor Daniel Craig has been making waves in the Hollywood media industry for many years, portraying various lead roles, such as Detective Benoit Blanc in the Knives Out films and Lee in the recently released Queer. However, Craig is arguably most well known for his recurring role as the legendary Agent 007 in the most recent James Bond franchise films. Daniel Craig's reign as James Bond has lasted over 15 years, spanning five films, including Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, and No Time to Die. Given his incredible and persevering performance as the talented MI6 agent, it is not surprising to see his other characters and films begin to slip into lesser-known territory.
One such film is The Trench, a 1999 war film written and directed by William Boyd.

On paper, the James Bond formula seems easy to replicate. All you need is a dapper, suave British man who can sport a suit while shooting down enemy spies and romantically courting women. As surface-level as the 007 concept appears, both the books and movies require an elegant touch that is lost upon its imitators. For 60 years, James Bond has been the rare franchise that relies on tradition while being unafraid to take risks and pivot the series into unforeseen directions. Tonally, the Roger Moore and Daniel Craig eras diverge widely, but you can always count on classical Hollywood entertainment with just the precise level of sophistication. Harry Palmer, the short-lived Michael Caine-led spy series that emphasized the gritty realism of international espionage, had the makings of a rival Bond, but audiences never caught on.

James Bond fans are a finicky lot. Nowadays, the majority of them were introduced to the character via the movies, which invariably drove them to breeze through Ian Fleming's eminently readable novels. When they come out on the other side of that experience, they're either more nit-picky about the films or more open to the multitudes this licensed-to-kill MI6 agent can contain depending on who's writing him and, of course, who's brandishing the trusty Walther Ppk.

When Skyfall hit theaters, it was a cinematic juggernaut. But behind the scenes, director Sam Mendes faced a mission as intense as 007’s: convincing 16-time Oscar-nominated legend to join the project. Mendes knew the cinematographer’s signature touch could elevate Skyfall, and he went all in to seal the deal.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson has quickly become a notable name in Hollywood, having appeared in a handful of memorable films over the last decade. He will still be best known to many audiences for his starring role in Kick-Ass (2010) and the 2013 sequel, but he also played the lead in 2014's Godzilla, which remains a highlight of Legendary's MonsterVerse.
More recently, Taylor-Johnson has appeared in movies like Tenet (2020), The King's Man (2021), Bullet Train (2022), The Fall Guy (2024), and the critically-acclaimed Nosferatu (2024). These days, Taylor-Johnson is mentioned most commonly as the actor who is seemingly a front-runner to be the next James Bond. One of his most important roles, however, couldn't be further away from 007, with Taylor-Johnson having played an unhinged serial killer back in 2016.
James Bond 26 could still be quite a ways off, as a new report recently revealed tension between producer Barbara Broccoli and Amazon, the new owner of MGM.

James Bond (Roger Moore) remembered his dead wife in 1977's The Spy Who Loved Me, 8 years after she died. Tracy Bond (Diana Rigg) is the only woman James Bond ever married, which happened at the end of 1969's On Her Majesty's Secret Service. James Bond (George Lazenby) met and fell in love with Contessa Tracy Divincenzo, the troubled daughter of international crime lord Marc-Ange Draco (Gabriele Ferzetti). Draco and 007 teamed up to take down the diabolical former leader of Spectre, Ernst Stavro Blofeld (Telly Savalas).
Tracy and James Bond marry at the conclusion of On Her Majesty's Secret Service, but their union would be tragically brief. Driving to their honeymoon, the couple was ambushed by Blofeld and his henchwoman, Irma Bunt (Isle Steppat). Blofeld and Bunt gunned down Tracy. In the next 007 movie, 1971's Diamonds Are Forever, James Bond (Sean Connery) went on a worldwide manhunt for Blofeld, but he never mentioned Tracy.

James Bond might sound like one of the least likely franchises to be adapted into a children's TV show, but the 1990s TV show James Bond Jr. attempted, unsuccessfully, to do it. The 007 franchise has 25 official James Bond movies, and video games based on the James Bond movies, but no official TV shows yet. Skyfall established that James Bond had no living family, which is now considered canon for the franchise. However, James Bond Jr. was released in 1994 and its plot followed the daring adventures of a spy relative of James Bond.
Like the Bond movies, James Bond Jr. was developed by Eon Productions, but it was so poorly received that the company quickly tried to distance itself from the show. The least-rated 007 movie, A View To A Kill, received just 36% on Rotten Tomatoes, and James Bond Jr. is widely considered even more of a failure. Many reasons...

A villain can make or break a movie, and some highly anticipated antagonists have dragged down their movies. When big franchises bring back popular villains, it inevitably places extra pressure on the actor and the writers to do the character justice. Some villains simply mean more to fans, like Blofeld in the James Bond franchise and the Joker in Batman movies. Unfortunately, reintroducing these characters doesn't always go to plan.
Another reason that a villain can attract a lot of hype before the release of a movie is if a popular actor has been cast to portray them. For example, fans of the Indiana Jones franchise were excited to see Mads Mikkelsen starring in The Dial of Destiny, given the fact that he has played some outstanding villain roles over the years. High expectations can hamper a villain, and this can affect the entire legacy of a movie.

For months now, Kick-Ass and Bullet Train star Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been rumored for the role of James Bond, with the Kraven the Hunter the favorite to take over from Daniel Craig following 2021’s No Time to Die. But, has the critical and financial failure of his Sony and Marvel outing hurt his chances? Maybe, as a new favorite has now emerged...and he could be fantastic.
According to the betting site Coral, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald star Callum Turner has seen his odds halved from 4-1 to 2-1, meaning there’s now far more chance that he could be the next actor chosen to sport the iconic tuxedo. Best known for roles in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise, as well as Green Room, Assassin’s Creed, and the acclaimed television series Masters of the Air, Turner certainly fits the criteria as laid out by longtime 007 producers Barabara Broccoli and Michael G. When the best James Bond movie of all time, "Casino Royale," debuted in 2006, the franchise was immediately reinvigorated with Daniel Craig's 007 representing a truly fresh take on the character. Director Martin Campbell, who a decade prior had kicked off Pierce Brosnan's tenure in the tux in similarly spectacular fashion with "GoldenEye," reintroduced audiences to a modern Bond, taking cues from 2001's "The Bourne Identity" and its 2004 sequel to give England's greatest spy a more grounded and — yes, I'm going to use the word — gritty treatment.
But then, things sort of fell apart. 2008's "Quantum of Solace" was the biggest disaster in Bond history, but not for the reasons you may have heard. The film was decent but didn't fare well with critics and fans, prompting custodians of the Bond franchise, Eon Productions, to change tack. The film was decent but didn't fare well with critics and fans, prompting custodians of the Bond franchise, Eon Productions, to change tack. When it comes to the world of cinema, few roles carry as much weight as the iconic fictional spy, James Bond. Having been portrayed by some of the finest actors in the film industry, the franchise has been struggling to find the new Bond, after the end of Daniel Craig’s tenure with No Time to Die. However, till now no actor has been cast since and the position has been lying vacant since 2021.

James Bond romanced dozens of Bond Girls in the 25 James Bond movies, but some Bond Girls were villainous henchwomen out to kill 007. Evil Bond Girls are as much a staple of the 007 franchise as vodka martinis, Bond's Aston Martin DB5, and the many women who were James Bond's lovers in his various films. In some cases, evil Bond Girls tried to execute James after they slept with him.
Interestingly, two versions of James Bond didn't face outright homicidal Bond Girls. Timothy Dalton's two Bond movies, The Living Daylights (1987) and License to Kill (1989), lacked Bond Girls who were dedicated to murdering 007. Daniel Craig's James Bond movies introduced several Bond Girls, including the iconic Vesper Lynd (Eva Green) in Casino Royale (2006) and the underrated Dr. Madeleine Swann (Lea Seydoux) in Spectre (2015) and No Time To Die (2021), but Craig's 007 also didn't battle malevolent Bond Girls out to end his life.

Sean Connery holds the honor of being the first big screen 007. Connery made his James Bond debut in 1962 with the Terrence Young-directed film Dr. No. Connery went on to star in five more James Bond films — From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice and Diamonds Are Forever — even returning to the franchise after a brief interruption by George Lazenby's one-off Bond film and the non-Eon Bond movie Never Say Never Again. Little did he know at the time that the Bond movies would become one of the biggest action franchises to date.
Bond took up the better part of a decade of Connery's career, beginning in 1962 and ending with Diamonds Are Forever in 1971 in the traditional series. Prior to his death in 2020, Connery went on to have a long acting career after ending his Bond tenure. His first 007 follow-up was The Offence...
