This is the first Crash Bandicoot game not to be created by Naughty Dog. This game was created by Eurocom.
On some demo disks of the game, you could actually access the full game using simple cheat codes. It wasn't discovered until 2009.
On January 2001, Cartoon Network set up a sweepstakes where 15 PlayStation 1s and 300 copies of this game were given away. The toll free number was 1-800-368-4000.
