The stars are stepping out to support the Russo brothers on their big day!

Chris Pratt, Alison Brie, and Yvette Nicole Brown attended filmmakers Joe and Anthony Russo‘s Hand and Footprint in Cement Ceremony on Friday (February 21) held outside of the Tcl Chinese Theater in Hollywood, Calif.

Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, was also at the ceremony along with Yvette‘s husband Anthony Davis.

If you didn’t know, the Russo brothers directed four Marvel movies: Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, and Avengers: Endgame. They also served as executive producers, directors, and writers on Yvette and Alison‘s comedy series Community.

Chris will next be starring alongside Millie Bobby Brown and Anthony Mackie in the Russo brothers’ new movie The Electric Slide, which hits Netflix on March 14. Watch the trailer here!

Millie Bobby Brown might not be Adam Sandler, per se—he, the comedian who almost exclusively makes movies for Netflix these days— barring an indie or two, but ever since the “Stranger Things” star took off in that series, she’s stayed very close to the streamer. So far, she’s made two “Enola Holmes” movies for Netflix, has the “Electric Slide” coming later his year with the Russo Brothers and the streaming giant, but before that, she’ll star in “Damsel,” a new fantasy film premiering March 8.

Normally, a film distributor would be overjoyed to be releasing an actress' first film after she wins an Academy Award, but Osiris Entertainment is demanding a big discount on the amount it agreed to pay for the new Patricia Arquette film, Electric Slide, currently due out in U.S. theaters in April. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Osiris Entertainment has submitted a claim against Electric Slide producer Myriad Pictures at the arbitration unit of the Independent Film & Television Alliance. The distributor has acquired all North American rights from Myriad Pictures to the crime drama starring Jim Sturgess and Isabel Lucas. Separately, Kino Lorber has acquired The Wanted 18 and Starz will release Every Secret Thing.

Electric Slide (pictured) premiered at Tribeca earlier in the year and tells of a broke 1980’s Los Angeles furniture store owner who embarks on a string of bank robberies with his lover.

Tristan Patterson directed from his own screenplay based on an article by Timothy Ford.

Rounding out the key cast are Chloe Sevigny, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Lambert and Vinessa Shaw.

Media House Capital and Myriad Pictures co-financed the film and Myriad handles world sales.

Paragon Releasing has acquired all U.S. and Canadian rights to writer-director Tristan Patterson's heist film “Electric Slide” from Myriad Pictures, the companies announced Monday. Jim Sturgess, Isabel Lucas, Chloe Sevigny, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Lambert and Vinessa Shaw star in the film, which will be released theatrically in the U.S. in April 2015. Sturgess and Lucas play star-crossed lovers who pull a Bonnie and Clyde-style series of bank robberies in 1980's Los Angeles. James Moll is attached to direct the project, based on the book A Trial of Generals, scheduled to begin principal photography in August. Jonathan Sanger is producing, and exec producer is Ellen Wander, whose Film Bridge International is overseeing financing and worldwide distribution. There's something about the Killer Films logo, that has me rooting for the film that follows every time. Christine Vachon's company has shepherded so many confrontational and interesting indie films and voices into the arthouse over the years that it has both a nostalgic pull And an edge, and those things rarely come conjoined. 

Electric Slide, about a bank robbing loser in 80s Los Angeles, definitely has the confrontational edge part though it's not what you might call "interesting". The only likeable characters are way on the periphery (Vinessa Shaw is engaging despite very little to do as a furniture store employee) like the pretty bank tellers who really sell their brief moments of victimization and carnal attraction to Eddie. But as a film it's intensely narcissistic, less concerned with what you think of it, than what pose it's...

Anton Yelchin and Megalyn Echikunwoke will star in Vincent & Roxxy, a crime thriller being produced by Keith Kjarval and his Unified Pictures. Gary Michael Schultz wrote the script and is directing the indie, which tells of a young woman, Roxxy (Echikunwoke), on a run in Chicago who is saved by Vincent, a young man also on the run. The two then fall in love while going on a crime spree. A July start in Austin is being eyed. Echikunwoke has appeared on shows such as 90210 and House of Lies and will be seen in the indie Electric Slide.

By the looks of it, the Tribeca Film Festival might finally be growing out of their awkward teenage phase and moving into a new era where the nab more than just Sundance and SXSW festival rejects. The 13th Tribeca Film Festival has announced half its slate for next month’s New York celebration, which runs April 16-27. Tribeca Film Festival top brass have announced (4) the World Narrative and Documentary Competition film selections and Viewpoints titles, comprising 47 of the 89 features that will screen at the festival over April 16-27.

The World Narrative Feature Competition will open with the world premiere of Lou Howe’s Gabriel starring Rory Culkin, while the corresponding documentary category kicks off with the world premiere of Frédéric Tcheng’s Dior And I (pictured).

Viewpoints opens with the world premiere of Onur Tukel’s Summer Of Blood and the section includes the North American premiere of Diao Yinan’s Berlin Golden Bear winner Black Coal, Thin Ice as well as the Us premiere of David Mackenzie’s Starred Up.

Theresa Won has been promoted to manager, productions and acquisitions at Santa Monica-based Myriad Pictures, it was announced today by Myriad CEO Kirk D’Amico.

Won will report to svp of production Jason Weiss and svp of marketing and acquisitions Audrey Delaney.

She joined Myriad Pictures last year as assistant to CEO and president Kirk D’Amico and has worked on films such as The Disappearance Of Eleanor Rigby (pictured) and Electric Slide.

“We are thrilled to have Theresa take this step and become a key member of our creative team,” said D’Amico. “She will be instrumental in our growing development and production activities, as well with our ongoing acquisitions activities.”

The first project, entitled The Robber, is a remake of a German film and based on a true story which will see Garfield playing a marathon runner who robs banks for the sheer sport of it. The second project, the dubiously titled Electric Slide, is also based on a true story and would see McGregor playing a “Gentleman thief” who robbed banks all over Southern California back in the 80s. There are currently two new heist films gaining momentum in Hollywood that plant to get back to the basics of bank robbery. Sony is considering making a film called The Robber, which is a remake of a well-regarded German movie about a marathon runner who robs banks for sport. According to a source close to the project, Andrew Garfield has seen the original film and is interested in playing the lead part. 

The original film was directed by Benjamin Heisenberg and was  based on the true story of the German bank robber Johann Rettenberger. Writers are currently being sought for the new project to add a degree of backstory to make the film more palatable to  a mainstream American audience.

Thievery seems to be in vogue again as word emerged today about two features dealing with famous bank robbers currently in the works according to The Los Angeles Times.

First up is "The Robber," a remake of Benjamin Heisenberg's German film about a marathon runner who robs banks for sport. "The Amazing Spider-Man" star Andrew Garfield has expressed interest in the leading role, an interest that will be helped by Laura Ziskin who produces both aforementioned films.

The project's development has picked up speed at Sony Pictures where it's expected the film will add more backstory to the characters.

The other is "Electric Slide" which "Blue Valentine" producer Jamie Patricof is having a go at.

Ewan McGregor is attached to play Eddie Dodson, a gentlemen thief who robbed banks all over Southern California to support his trendy Melrose Avenue shop as well as a growing drug habit.

In the wake of the American Film Market, Myriad Pictures has racked up sales in multiple territories for Cheryl Hines' "Serious Moonlight" and Sebastian Gutierrez's "Women in Trouble" as well as presales for the Ewan McGregor starrer "The Electric Slide."

"Moonlight," a romantic comedy, stars Meg Ryan, Timothy Hutton, Kristen Bell and Justin Long and was written by the late Adrianne Shelly. Magnolia will release the film, which debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival, theatrically in December in the U.S.

The flick is based on Timothy Ford's article "The Yankee Bandit: The Life and Times of Eddie Dodson, World's Great Bank Robber." Tristan Patterson wrote the screenplay and will direct.

McGregor will star as Dodson, who robbed more than 70 banks in the 1980s before the FBI caught him.

McGregor was last seen in "Deception." He has tons of projects coming up, including "I Love You Philip Morris," "Angels & Demons" and "The Ghost."

As for Mulligan, her credits include "Pride & Prejudice" and "And When Did You Last See Your Father?" She will also be seen in Michael Mann's "Public Enemies" and "Brothers."

"Slide" marks Patterson's directorial debut.
