Actually, "Radhe" was Salman's screen name in his earlier hit "Tere Naam", and later used in his comeback film "Wanted" (2009), which was a remake of the Telugu film "Pokiri", directed by Puri Jagannadh. The Hindi remake was directed by Prabhu Deva.

Hyderabad, March 25 (Ians) Telugu actor Adivi Sesh took to social media on Thursday to announce that the teaser launch of his film 'Major' has been postponed.

The launch was earlier scheduled to take place on March 28 in Mumbai. No revised date has been shared by the makers as yet.

"Due to sudden tragedy in the director's family and rising Covid cases across India, the teaser launch event in Mumbai, which was earlier scheduled for March 28, stands postponed. The new date for the launch of the teaser in all languages will be announced shortly," he posted on Instagram.

The 2009 thriller, which heralded Salman's golden run of annual Eid blockbusters, is also widely considered the film that cemented the actor's position as an action superstar.

Importantly, the film came at a time when several of Salman's releases had fared below expectation. "Wanted", a mass entertainer, helped him turned the box office tide in his favour.

Directed by Prabhudeva, "Wanted" was a remake of Puri Jagannadh's 2006 Telugu blockbuster "Pokiri", starring Mahesh Babu and Ileana D'Cruz.

"Wanted" featured Vinod Khanna, Prakash Raj, Mahesh Manjrekar, and Ayesha Takia in pivotal roles along with Salman. The film's dialogue "Ek baar jo maine commitment kar di, toh main apne aap ki bhi nahi sunta" continues to be a rage with Salman fans till date.

Mumbai, June 12: "Phata Poster Nikhla Hero" will see Ileana D'Cruz teaming up with Shahid Kapoor for the first time on the big screen and she seems to be satisfied with the final product.

"The film that I have done with Shahid has come out beautifully. I am extremely excited. It is something, which is very different. I am hoping that everyone loves it," Ileana, who moved to Bollywood after making a name in the southern film industry with hits like "Devadasu" and "Pokiri", told Ians in a telephonic interview.

The 12th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival has organised a special section “Hindi Mood for Marrakech” this year to mark the centenary year of Indian cinema. Some of the Hindi films to be screened are Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Barfi!, English Vinglish, Don and Don 2.

An outdoor screening of selected films from Bollywood will be organised at the Jemaa el Fna square, each evening of the festival.

A delegation of Indian actors, directors and producers, lead by Amitabh Bachchan has been invited to attend a tribute ceremony on Saturday, December 1, 2012.

The festival will run from 30th November – 8th December, 2012.

Mumbai, Sep 5: Ileana D'Cruz refused to work in "Wanted", the Hindi version of Telugu hit "Pokiri" and thus lost the opportunity to romance Salman Khan on the big screen. Now she hopes to get another chance to team up with the Bollywood star.

"Yes, I was approached for the remake of 'Pokiri' in Tamil and Hindi. I did 'Pokiri' in Telugu, which did a huge business. I didn't take the offer of 'Pokiri'.

The influence of South Indian cinema on Hindi over the years had gradually increased to a whole new level today. In the 90s you simply got accustomed to faces like Nagarjuna and Rajnikanth whose films without fail got dubbed in Hindi. However, come the millennium and the selling of your remake rights and the subsequent acquiring of it by a maker in Hindi cinema has become one of the most prominent business transactions in Indian cinema. We are no longer satisfied with dubbed versions of their films nor are many of the Si makers looking to release such versions of their films.
