Alexandra Daddario has been a part of the film industry for many years now. While many have heard of her after she starred in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, she has been in several notable works since then.

While some of her works have done quite well in the eyes of the public, some have been outright horrendous for her career, causing her to gain somewhat of a reputation as a bad actress. Recently, Daddario spoke about this and addressed the rumors about her being untalented, calling them outrageous and bringing up her Emmy nomination.
On this note, here are three of her films that she should not have starred in and three that help showcase her talent.
Good: The White Lotus
One cannot praise Alexandra Daddario’s talents as an actress without talking about The White Lotus.

Rick Riordan's first Percy Jackson novel, "The Lightning Thief," was first published in 2005, riding on a wave of ultra-popular young adult fantasy literature that persists to this day. One can easily see that the "Percy Jackson & the Olympians" books lift a lot of ideas from J.K. Rowling's blockbuster Harry Potter novels and follow a lot of the same story beats. Both were about young men who, while living unhappy lives among the hoi polloi, discover they actually possess royal blood. Their previously unknown lineages allow them access to worlds of magic and/or deities, which they are able to explore through either a wizards' boarding school (in Harry Potter) or a demigod summer camp (in Percy Jackson).

Now that the Percy Jackson book series is being adapted to television, it's time for old and new fans to brush up on their knowledge of the novels. Thankfully, the order to read all seven of them is straightforward since their chronological order lines up with their release order. However, Riordan has written other book series set in the Percy Jackson universe, and that is when the timeline gets a bit tricky.
Riordan created the character of Percy Jackson when the author used to tell his son stories about Greek mythology. He turned his bedtime stories into a novel The Lightning Thief and the rest is history. Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which premiered in 2023, gives each book its own season. Hopefully, the Disney+ series continues to be successful enough to warrant more seasons, so that the entire series can come to life on-screen. Following the disaster that was the...

The Percy Jackson movies altered the characters' ages and story tone from the source material. The movies changed Percy's quest, removed key elements, and inaccurately portrayed characters' motives. The adaptations lost the books' humor and simplified the gods, and were therefore less engaging and faithful.
It is no secret that the Percy Jackson movie adaptations got a lot wrong about the source material. Everyone, including Rick Riordan himself, has criticized the movies for their complete failure to understand the books and their most vital components. The Percy Jackson movie franchise only made it through two movies before buckling under the weight of its mistakes; the second movie awkwardly tries to correct some of the things from the first, to little avail.
These two movies changed so many things about the Percy Jackson story that none of the original tone or messages came through, and many of the characters were unrecognizable.

Logan Lerman, best known for the Percy Jackson film series, began acting in commercials when he was young and made his film debut in 2000 with the movie The Patriot. After starring in several movies, he decided he needed a break in the early 2000s and would return to the industry when he was 12. In 2004, he was cast in one of the two titular roles in the TV series Jack & Bobby.

For fans of World War II period dramas and the original "Percy Jackson" films, I have incredible news. The limited series "We Were the Lucky Ones" is coming to Disney's newly-purchased Hulu very soon, and it looks like it's going to be worth the wait.
The show is "inspired by the incredible true story of one Jewish family separated at the start of World War II, determined to survive and reunite," according to the official synopsis. "The series demonstrates how in the face of the 20th century's darkest moment, the human spirit can endure and even thrive. The series is a tribute to the triumph of hope and love against all odds."
It is adapted from a New York Times best-selling novel of the same name by Georgia Hunter, a 46-year-old Jewish-American author. Her book is based on the true story of her family's survival in the Holocaust. Although the...

Warning! This article contains spoilers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians episode 5.
The inclusion of Ares in Percy Jackson and the Olympians episode 5 rectifies a major error in the 2010 movie's portrayal of Percy and Annabeth's relationship. The Waterland sequence in the episode is an iconic chapter from the book that allows Percy and Annabeth to transition from acquaintances to friends. The Tunnel of Love scene in the episode focuses on Percy and Annabeth's friendship rather than romantic love, making it a standout moment in the series.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 1 Episode 5, “A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers.”] Ahead of the release of Percy Jackson and the Olympians Episode 5, author and series co-creator Rick Riordan said on Instagram that this is the episode “where things Really get cooking.” He wasn’t kidding. “A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers” features the debut of not just one god, but two: Aew star Adam “Edge” Copeland as Ares, and Psych alum Timothy Omundson as Hephaestus, the god of artisans, blacksmiths, carpenters, craftsmen, and more. Hephaestus’ presence in the episode is actually a departure from the source material. In Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (the book on which Season 1 is based), Hephaestus doesn’t actually show up and meet the questing demigods. In the Disney+ adaptation, he does, bringing another exciting element to the fan-favorite Tunnel of Love scene — another pivotal book moment that the movies left out. (Ares isn’t ...

Percy Jackson and the Olympians has received overwhelmingly positive reviews and high audience scores, surpassing the low ratings of the previous movies. The first episode of the series garnered record-setting viewership, becoming the most watched premiere of any Disney Branded Television offering and one of the top five season premieres of 2023. The strong performance of the series suggests that it has the potential to expand and continue for multiple seasons, potentially surpassing the limitations faced by other fantasy shows like Willow.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Percy Jackson & the Olympians episodes 1 and 2.
The Disney+ series adaptation of Percy Jackson & the Olympians is more faithful to the books compared to the movies. Walker Scobell's portrayal of Percy is closer to the character's age in the books, unlike Logan Lerman's slightly older version in the movies. The Disney+ show delves deeper into Percy's school life, including his time at Yancy Academy, while also presenting a less troubled home life for the character.
Percy Jackson & the Olympians is giving Rick Riordan's books a second chance at life on-screen, and the Disney+ series is already proving a much different adaptation than the movies; even Walker Scobell's Percy offers a distinct version of the character compared to Logan Lerman's. It's been less than 15 years since 20th Century Fox tried to leverage the "Percy Jackson" series of books by Rick Riordan into their own version of a "Harry Potter" franchise, replete with well-known adult actors, a group of less familiar child actors, a fantastical setting, and even the director of the first two "Potter" films. But while "Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief" did well enough to merit a sequel, there must have been some sense of a story that wasn't told as effectively as possible. Now, as we wrap up 2023, and as Disney+ embarks on its fifth year of existence, Percy is back and this time in TV form. "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" (please note the lack of an ampersand in this show's title) goes through the basic story that made up the 2010 film subtitled "The Lightning Thief," but has the benefit and imprimatur of Riordan as...

20th Century Fox wanted Chris Columbus‘ 2010 film “Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief” to kick off a franchise that could contend with “Harry Potter.” Alas, that didn’t happen. Critics had a mixed reception about the feature, and it didn’t do well at the box office either. But the original “Percy Jackson” books remain popular, so it only makes sense for Disney to take a swing at it, this time as streaming series on Disney+.

In an interview with Variety, Burke expressed the studio’s eagerness to potentially adapt Rick Riordan’s entire Camp Half-Blood Chronicles book series, which includes stories centering around other demigods besides Percy Jackson. "We want them all," Burke said. "In spite of the movie experience that he had before, he’s an expansive thinker about his work. He doesn’t have a rigid interpretation of it. The other series that he’s created that live in this world are all part of our universe that we can adapt."

Rick Riordan "wrote off Hollywood" after being left frustrated by the 'Percy Jackson' films. The 59-year-old author has never watched either of the movie adaptations of his work – 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief' and 'Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters' – and refused to consider other takes on the books as the flicks had deviated from the source material so much.In an interview with Variety, Rick said: "After the movie experience, I basically wrote off Hollywood for a long, long time. I really didn't want to have anything to do with the film industry."There were many years of me saying, 'I don't want to engage. I don't want to think about other adaptations. I'm done.'"'Percy Jackson' is now returning to the screen in a Disney+ TV series that will premiere in December and Rick ultimately relented on his anti-adaptation stance. He explained: "But...

It’s no secret that Rick Riordan, who wrote the Percy Jackson book series and executive-produces the upcoming Disney+ live-action series, took major issue with the 2010 film Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and its sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
In his notes to movie producers in 2009, he called the Lightning Thief script “terrible” as a whole and maligned the age-inappropriate swearing as a “lazy attempt to make the script seem hip to teens.” Responding to a fan in 2020 who said he hated the films more than they did, Riordan shared that it was “my life’s...

Rick Riordan was not exactly impressed with the Percy Jackson movies, and the author is looking back on some of the issues with the two feature films.
Based on Riordan's Percy Jackson novel series, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief was released in 2010. It was followed by a sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, in 2013. The films respectively made $227 million and $202 at the box office, falling short of the studio's hopes that the franchise could be the new Harry Potter in terms of theatrical revenue. Reflecting on the films in a newly-published interview with Variety, Riordan speaks about what went wrong with the original live-action adaptations.

The next big thing in Hollywood was created by a middle school teacher from Texas. To his fans, he’s Uncle Rick.
In the crowd of a Los Angeles theater, where Uncle Rick has stopped on his most recent book tour, two teenage sisters gush that they drove for nearly two hours to make it here tonight — longer, when you account for parking — but it was worth it. Like Percy Jackson, the character that made Uncle Rick famous, the older sister has Adhd, while the younger sister never liked reading. And Percy also landed in Los Angeles on his very first quest. So by the logic set out in Uncle Rick’s books, these girls were born to be heroes.

He wasn’t on the speakers’ list, but Percy Jackson & The Olympians creator Rick Riordan staged a surprise last-minute walk-on Sunday at New York Comic Con with his wife, Becky Riordan.
The couple closed out a jam-packed panel for the upcoming Disney+ adaptation of author Riordan’s beloved, modern-day-mythological fantasy novels about a boy who learns he is the half-human son of the sea god Poseidon.
“Let’s go to Camp Half-Blood and play capture the flag,” a smiling Riordan said from the stage, introducing the last of three exclusive sneak-peak clips from the series, which premieres December 20.
A capacity Comic Con audience — many already in orange and black Camp Half-Blood t-shirts handed out at the door — cheered inside the mammoth exhibition hall at Manhattan’s Javits Center. Then came a five-minute reel showing Percy, played by Walker Scobell, in a crucial early test of his fighting skills at the sleep-away camp for young demigods-in-training.

The Percy Jackson series was one of the most successful book series of the 2000s. Author Rick Riordan's fantasy novels follow young Percy Jackson, who learns he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon. From there, Percy has to use his newfound powers to stop the Titans from destroying the world.
Set to premiere later this year on Disney+, the upcoming series adaptation is the second time that the novels have made the jump to the screen. The movie Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief adapted the first novel and was released in 2010. Despite lukewarm reviews, it enjoyed box office success. A sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, was released in 2013. More sequels were planned but never materialized, with the aging of the cast as one possible factor.

In 2010, 20th Century Fox brought to life the first film in the Percy Jackson series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief starring Logan Lerman. Fox would bring over the director of the early Harry Potter films, Chris Columbus, to helm the start of this new franchise. The Lightning Thief would go on to become a hit as it grossed $226.4 million worldwide with a production budget of $95 million. The sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, also became a modest hit and a third film, The Titan’s Curse, was set to be the next installment, but it never manifested.

Prime Video has released its “Red White & Royal Blue” film, based on Casey McQuiston’s novel, and viewers are in store for some great twists on romantic comedy tropes and foreign relations.
McQuiston’s novel follows Alex Claremont Diaz (Taylor Zakhar Perez), son of the first woman to become president of the United States (Uma Thurman) as he butts heads with Prince Henry (Nicholas Galitzine) constantly, which gets them both into trouble. The president sent her son to the royal wedding with only one operative: Do not cause a scene. But apparently, he caused a big enough commotion to take the cake — literally a large wedding cake toppled onto Alex and Henry after an altercation on the dance floor. Smoothing things over, at least in a famous fake friendship kind of way, the boys strike up an actual relationship, romantic and all.

The second spinoff in the wildly popular CSI franchise, CSI: New York told grittier stories and featured a cast of recognizable names in nearly every role. Debuting in 2004, the show follows detectives in New York City who use sophisticated science to crack some of the most high-profile cases in the Big Apple. Unlike the sun-drenched locations of the first two CSI series, New York's urban environment immediately gave the show a different tone, and a slew of violent and disturbing cases accentuated its procedural elements. Rick Riordan, the creator of Percy Jackson & The Olympians, details the damage the film adaptations had on his family. Riordan's first Percy Jackson book was initially adapted into a feature film in 2010, entitled Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief. The Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has potentially already been renewed for season 2 if its lead star is to be believed. The series, which is set to premiere on the streaming platform in early 2024, is the latest live-action adaptation to be based on the children's book series of the same name by Rick Riordan, which follows a young man named Percy Jackson who discovers that he is the son of Poseidon and is whisked off to Camp Half-Blood, a training ground for demigods. The property was originally adapted into a pair of films - 2010's Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief and 2013's Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters - starring Logan Lerman in the title role.

Rick Riordan, writer of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, has responded to rumors that cast members from the film adaptations will be appearing in the upcoming Disney+ series. Percy Jackson is a series of five books written by Riordan, which have sold over 180 million copies worldwide, making it one of the best-selling book series in history. In 2010, a film adaptation of the first book in the series was made, titled Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. In 2013, the sequel Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters was released. Now that "His Dark Materials" is ending, the search for the next title to carry the young adult (YA) fantasy torch is raging on. While we wait for more news about "The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes," Disney+ wants to become the home for second chances at adapting beloved YA books. It recently announced a new "Eragon" adaptation, and there's the highly anticipated "Percy Jackson & The Olympians."

Author Rick Riordan managed to introduce Greek...

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is now in production and book readers have been very vocal about the casting of the main characters, but there are more important castings to consider. The Percy Jackson books written by Rick Riordan follow its titular main character Percy as he discovers he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon, trains with other demigods, and embarks on a series of adventures with his friends Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, and Grover, a satyr. The book series has been adapted for the screen before with two films, Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief (2010) and Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters (2013). The Percy Jackson movies had various issues and were met with mixed reviews and skepticism by both fans of the books and the book's author.
