Canadian actor and comedian Andre Arruda died Saturday after a lifelong bout with Morquio syndrome, a rare birth defect associated with dwarfism. He was 33.

"As an actor, stand-up comedian and writer, Andre will always be remembered as the little man who gave us some big laughs," Arruda's agent, Jana Abrams, said on her Facebook page. She confirmed his passing due to complications from the genetic disorder at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto.

Breaking Bad has a history of starting its season out rather slowly. Take for instance Season 4, which many hailed as weak until around Episode 5, where things really started to kick off. It's a delicate process—things start off with a slow burn, and then amp up to crazy and ridiculous levels of awesome. Then it goes down again, mostly because the show has to "reset" itself back to normalcy after such an intense high.

Last week's season premiere seemed to buck that trend, kicking things off with an energetic and fun heist episode. But now that the immediate danger of Gus' laptop has been taken care of, Breaking Bad slowed down slightly with a more calm, place setting type of episode. TORONTO -- Monday's announcement that Universal/Marvel Entertainment's The Incredible Hulk will shoot in Toronto this summer came as welcome news for a city whose production cupboard has been bare recently.

Homegrown pic Hank & Mike, starring Wes Bently and Joe Mantegna, is the only movie currently shooting in the city as planned studio projects were put on hold for the duration of the ACTRA strike.

The Hulk shoot marks the first major signing of a U.S. movie shoot here since North American producers and striking Canadian actors reached a new labor deal last week (HR 2/21).

There was no word on casting for film, which will be directed by Louis Leterrier ("Transporter 1 & 2"), and produced by Avi Arad, Kevin Feige and Gale Anne Hurd.

Other projects headed to Toronto are Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate's Saw 4, which begins shooting in mid-April, and Rogue Pictures' and Universal's American Pie 6. And Toronto-based producer Don Carmody (Chicago) said Monday that he's planning to move ahead with shooting in Winnipeg and Montreal for White Out, an action thriller from Silver Pictures and Warner Bros. about a U.S. marshal who pursues a serial killer to Antarctica.

The return of Los Angeles producers to local sound stages comes amid a major offensive by the Canadian film and TV production industry to woo back displaced or disgruntled U.S. studios and independent producers after settlement of the country's first-ever actors strike.

Richard Perotto, the Toronto-based business representative for IATSE local 667 in Toronto, cautioned that it was still early but said he saw encouragement from the phone calls fielded from Los Angeles since the settlement.

"They want to use Toronto. It's a big empty cavern now," Perotto said, pointing to vacant studio space looking for tenants.

Even during the six-week ACTRA strike, Universal and Marvel were scouting in Toronto for the second installment of the Hulk franchise, according to city officials.

Wes Bentley and Joe Mantegna have been the cast in Hank and Mike, a dark comedy about two Easter bunnies being produced by Canada-based Darius Films and Shoreline Entertainment. Matthiew Klinck is directing the film.

Thomas Michael and writing partner Paolo Mancini wrote the script and play the title roles of two foul-mouthed Easter bunnies who get fired and try their hand at an assortment of odd jobs, their lives unraveling until they realize that without their jobs they are nothing.

Bentley will play an efficiency consultant, and Mantegna is the owner of Easter Enterprises.

Michael and Mancini have been performing and honing the characters of Hank and Mike on television and stage in Canada since they created the rabbit buddies nearly 10 years ago.

Producing are Darius' Nicholas Tabarrok and Shoreline's Morris Ruskin along with Michael, who is producing via his Peeping Tom Films. Pierre Even (C.R.A.Z.Y.) also is producing.

Shoreline Entertainment is representing the film in the U.S.
