The yacht in the scene where the VIP's are picked up is owned in real life by Marien Zagarella who plays the character of "Jevito VIP" in the movie.
The scene where the yacht picks up the VIP's is the only scene in where the cast is actually in open water inside the boat. That scene was the last one scheduled to film, and could not be shot correctly because some of the cast member where puking and were too dizzy to go on.
The open sea scenes were filmed in an Olympic-size swimming pool with the use of green screen.
