Veteran motion picture and television executive Frank Price, who had more than one go-round at both McA/Universal and Columbia Pictures, died Monday in Santa Monica. He was 95.
His son Roy Price, former president of Amazon Studios, reported his death, posting on X, “My father, Frank Price, passed away peacefully in his sleep this morning at 95. He lived a full life and we will miss him deeply.”
One of the few journeymen writer-producers to rise through the ranks to head both television and film production divisions, Price headed McA’s TV division in the 1970s, a period of great prosperity for the company, with such series as “Kojak,” “Baretta” and “The Rockford Files.” He moved on to become president of Columbia Pictures in 1978 and then chairman and CEO before he left in 1983; such films as “Kramer vs. Kramer,” “The Big Chill,” “Tootsie,” “Gandhi,” “Ghostbusters” and “The Karate Kid” were released...

We're coming up on two decades of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Depending on your relationship to the franchise, that will either feel wild or leave you baffled that the property hasn't already passed that mark. Sometimes, it feels like we've always been living in this post-"Iron Man" world -- that the age of the cinematic universe is all there ever was. But even within the MCU itself, there have been various eras, with lots of experiments you may have forgotten Marvel Studios ever attempted.
Remember "The Incredible Hulk?" Remember when the MCU tried to ship Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo)? And then there was...

The cause of death for Loni Anderson is now known. The twice Emmy-nominated star of Wkrp in Cincinnati passed away from metastatic uterine leiomyosarcoma, an aggressive and rare cancer that often starts in the uterus and can spread to other parts of the body, according to a death certificate obtained by TMZ. There were no other contributing factors listed.
Anderson died Aug. 3 in Los Angeles, just days before her 80th birthday.
Her longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, told Deadline at the time that Anderson died as the result of “an acute prolonged illness.”
Anderson was best known for her portrayal of Jennifer Marlowe, the clever receptionist on sitcom Wkrp In Cincinnati, about the eccentric staff of a struggling Top 40 rock radio station in Ohio, which aired from 1978-to 1982 on CBS. She received two Emmy nominations and three Golden Globe noms for the role.

James Gunnhas just articulated his approach to shaping the burgeoning DC Universe–and it’s the exact opposite of how Marvel Studios has been telling their stories. The Guardians of the Galaxy filmmaker has spent plenty of time bringing Marvel characters to life, but was put in charge of creatively guiding the rebooted DC cinematic universe in 2022.

Mark Ruffalo’s Role in ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’: Horrible News For ‘World War Hulk’ Fans (Report)
Mark Ruffalo, the MCU’s most famous Hulk, is set to reprise the role of Bruce Banner for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, according to a news report from The Cosmic Circus, published August 19. This is in direct conflict with the events that transpire in the World War Hulk series, as it appears that Hulk will be on Earth for the next Spider-Man film.
The movie is currently scheduled to release in 2026, with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as The Punisher and Michael Mando as Scorpion. According to The Cosmic Circus, Alex Perez said:
Banner is at his wits’ end. With the events of She-Hulk and Brave New World, he realizes now that his worst fear has become real. People can become the Hulk, and it really puts a stress on his behavior. That’s the starting point for him on Brand New Day.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Worldwide Box Office: Set To Beat This Ant-Man Movie (Photo Credit – Instagram/Prime Video)
Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Steps has dropped below $1 million in North America in less than a month of its release. The film is also on track to beat this Ant-Man installment at the worldwide box office. This Paul Rudd-starrer is the lowest-grossing film in the franchise. Ahead of crossing the $500 million milestone, it will beat this MCU flick worldwide. Keep scrolling for more.
The Ant-Man movies are among the weak earners at the box office, but they still played a big role in the MCU. Paul Rudd‘s Ant-Man played an essential role in Avengers: Endgame, which introduced the quantum realm to the Avengers. The Fantastic Four film also had a weak run at the box office and has seen a slight improvement in performance in North America.

Never judge a book by its cover -- unless it's a comic book, then please judge away. When you pick up a title from Marvel or DC Comics, the cover makes all the difference. It holds the ability to sell you the book in an instant, or it could be the equivalent of garlic to a vampire if it looks about as boring as two tree branches locked in a staring contest. The cover needs to convince you that what you're about to page through is both a must-read and must-buy experience.
Publishers understand the importance of covers, hence using different approaches like wraparound covers, foil variants, and embossed designs. While these add a visual impact and collector's appeal, it only works if the cover asserts itself as iconic. Now, the question is, how does one determine that? That's easy -- you look at its influence on pop culture and...

Phillip Kennedy Johnson and Nic Klein's Incredible Hulk has reawakened monsters and reignited horror storytelling across the Marvel Universe. This November, they'll launch Infernal Hulk, a monstrous new chapter following their bold run that debuts the most terrifying Hulk in comic book history.
Infernal Hulk picks up after Hulk's epic rematch with the Eldest, the powerful firstborn of the Mother of Horrors, in October's Incredible Hulk #30.
The Eldest's long-seeded plan comes to fruition as it uses the power of the "Strongest There Is" to usher in a new Age of Monsters, unleashing a dark destiny for the entire Marvel Universe and declaring war for its very soul.
Here's the official description for Infernal Hulk #1:

Chicago – The recent passing of Loni Anderson on August 3rd, 2025, brought back memories of the many times she encountered HollywoodChicago.com, either for the reprinted interview below or the many times she sat for Exclusive Photos with Photographer Joe Arce. She was 79 years old.
Loni Anderson is much like her character on Wkrp – luminous, intelligent and with a unique perspective. She climbed the show business ladder herself, after having a first marriage and a child in her teens. After that marriage ended before her 21st birthday, she finished college at the University of Minnesota and started an acting career, taking roles on stage and in local and national commercials. After moving to Los Angeles in 1975, she dyed her jet black hair to blonde, and began a series of high profile appearances on familiar dramas and comedies of the era, including “The Bob Newhart Show” and “Police Woman.”

What happens when the World's Greatest Detective meets the Merc with a Mouth? Reality folds in on itself. Archetypes collide. Darkseid is. And, somewhere between Apokolips and Earth-TRN666, a sentient street named Danny hums show tunes about a crusading cape.
DC Comics has revealed that Batman/Deadpool #1, a 64-page one-shot crossover comic book featuring cover art by Dan Mora, arrives in comic book stores on Wednesday, November 19.
Batman/Deadpool #1 isn't just a comic book crossover between iconic publishers; it's a metaphysical car crash between two storytelling philosophies. One character broods in the shadows of trauma and justice.
The other cartwheels through chaos, breaking the fourth wall and occasionally the laws of physics. Together, they're forced to confront a threat that doesn't just endanger their worlds—it questions their very existence as fictional constructs.

Writer Grant Morrison has famously done a number of past stories that have involved metafictional elements, including the hit crossover event, Multiversity, and that continues again in this issue, which DC describes as "a reality-bending saga that’s equal parts cosmic horror, slapstick noir, and metafictional therapy session. The superhero industrial complex has tapped virtually every working actor in Hollywood with many signed to years and years of superhero movies in starring roles and cameo appearances. Others have been tapped for cameos that promise some grand role in the future, but will probably never come to fruition. Another genre of fiction that is also tossing a wide net when it comes to casting? Westerns, particularly Taylor Sheridan's "Yellowstone" cinematic universe.
Everyone from Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren to Josh Holloway and Rita Wilson have found themselves in the most popular cinematic universe on TV in the last few years. All this being said, there's not a lot of crossover between the two massive industries. Still, the few actors who have found success in both the "Yellowstone" universe and in superhero roles boast not only impressive resumes, but extremely wide audiences. Case in point: Neal McDonough.

As we reach the final weeks of the 2025 summer movie season, let's take a look at the current state of the comic book movie genre. What was once the most reliable cash cow for Hollywood throughout the 2010s has since cratered in box office returns. Sure, Marvel Studios had at least two $1 billion hits this decade, with "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and "Deadpool and Wolverine," and DC's "The Batman" was a critical and commercial success. But otherwise, the genre has fallen considerably from its peak.
That said, 2025 has arguably been the best summer of comic book films in several years. Marvel Studios kicked off the summer with "Thunderbolts," which proved to be one of its better post-Phase 3 Marvel Cinematic Universe. "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" finally gave us a quality film adaptation featuring Marvel's First Family. The Marvel Cinematic Universe didn’t just change superhero movies—it changed the entire entertainment business. From Iron Man‘s humble beginnings in 2008 to the multiverse madness of recent years, Marvel Studios has created a massive, interconnected story spanning across dozens of films and Disney+ shows.
But here’s the thing: not every chapter of this saga has hit the same financial high. Sure, there are billion-dollar projects like Avengers: Endgame and Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, there are also quieter MCU phases, ones without a Thanos-level villain or a major crossover event.
So, while fans often debate favorite heroes or storylines, let’s take a look at which phase actually made Marvel the most money. With five phases and 36 films in the bag, it’s the perfect time to dig deep into the numbers and find out which phase brought in the biggest bucks, and which one barely broke even.

Earlier this week, the brand new Spider-Man film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, began filming. The fourth of the Tom Holland-starring Marvel Cinematic Universe films is looking to bring the iconic character back to theaters after several years away and live up to the massive expectations that have been looming over the franchise ever since the prior installment, Spider-Man: No Way Home, became a billion-dollar zeitgeist-seizing bonanza. While that film was a multiversally-indebted legacy sequel of sorts, bringing together three generations of Spider-Man franchises under one roof, the new film is set to be something decidedly different. Both Holland and Marvel head Kevin Feige have reiterated in interviews that the fourquel is to be a “street level” film, which focuses solely on this Spider-Man, rather than another big multiverse-shattering behemoth.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps opened with strong numbers at the box office but had a steep fall on its second weekend. The MCU movie is now aiming to escape the 5 least-earning MCU films list next. To achieve that, it will have to cross a major global milestone soon. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby’s movie will achieve that, but it will still have an underwhelming run at the box office. Keep scrolling for the deets.
However, it has witnessed a drastic drop in the second weekend, maintaining its top spot among weekly domestic rankings. The film will also hold on to the IMAX screens now, and it will help it earn more money, helping it prevent being a box office failure. The MCU movie features a retro-futurist world that the F4 team must protect from Galactus.

Marvel Studios has produced the most expansive, successful, and beloved franchise in Hollywood history. It's true; the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been a force since its introduction with Iron Man in 2008 and it has proceeded to tell some of the most compelling long-form stories across the years that have come since, ensuring that fans just can't get enough of the MCU.
It's incredible, and what makes this particular franchise all the more impressive is that storylines and plot threads can be followed up in just about any installments; they don't even have to be direct sequels. That's the beauty of the MCU in that it is a shared universe that can tell multiple stories across many films. Look no further than this year's Captain America: Brave New World, which carried on storylines that hadn't been explored since 2008's The Incredible Hulk.

But that doesn't negate the need for direct sequels,...

In the dimension-hopping "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," the mild-mannered Miles Morales (Shameik Moore) once again finds himself skipping between parallel universes. His inter-dimensional would-be girlfriend Gwen Stacy (Hailee Steinfeld), a.k.a. Spider-Woman, has alerted Miles to the existence of the Spider-Society, a massive cadre of hundreds of Spider-People, all gathered together from their respective parallel universes. Like in "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," Miles meets unusual variants of himself, including the cold-hearted Spider-Man 2099 (Oscar Isaac), the broody Scarlet Spider (Andy Samberg), the excitable Spider-Man India (Karan Soni), and Jessica Drew, another Spider-Woman (Issa Rae).
Miles also meets the ultra-cool Spider-Punk, a black-vest-and-mohawk-sporting Spider-Man who is animated to look like a moving crumpled-up punk band flier. Spider-Punk is played by Daniel Kaluuya, and he beats people up with his electric guitar. Miles thinks that Spider-Punk is one of the coolest people he's ever met ... and he's not wrong. The character is pretty badass.

Loni Anderson died on August 3, a few days before her 80th birthday on August 5.
Anderson’s longtime publicist, Cheryl J. Kagan, said that Anderson had been battling a “prolonged” illness and died at a Los Angeles hospital. Anderson’s family also released a statement, “We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother.”
Anderson was born to environmental chemist Klaydon Anderson and model Maxine Hazel in 1954. Starting her four-decade musical theater career at the age of 10, Anderson’s first Hollywood role saw her in the 1966 western, Nevada Smith. The movie did not succeed in attracting her attention as an actress, and her career struggled in the following years. In a 2007 interview, Anderson told Ability magazine, “Look up the definition of rejection in the dictionary… get really comfortable with it, and then maybe you can go into acting.”

Loni Anderson, who played the highly capable receptionist Jennifer Marlowe on four seasons of Wkrp in Cincinnati, died on Sunday at the age of 79, just two days shy of her 80th birthday.
She passed in a Los Angeles hospital after a prolonged illness. "We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear wife, mother and grandmother," Anderson's family said in a statement.
Anderson came up in the business with bit parts on television in the late '70s on series like S.W.A.T., The Bob Newhart Show, and The Incredible Hulk, before landing the role that would define her career.
As Jennifer Marlowe, Anderson defied stereotypes as the most skilled worker at the offices of Wkrp, able to do just about anything and very unwilling to type or get coffee. For the role, she earned two Emmy nominations for Best Supporting Comedy Actress in 1980 and 1981. With her first nomination,...

The Fantastic Four: First Steps has hit a major milestone worldwide even though it has stumbled at the domestic box office. The new movie is the 37th feature-length installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and stars Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as the titular group of superheroes, who must protect Earth from Galactus (Ralph Ineson).
The Fantastic Four: First Steps reviews have earned it a Certified Fresh Rotten Tomatoes score of 86% with a Verified Hot audience score of 92%. However, this did not prevent the movie from stumbling hard at the box office during its sophomore weekend, falling 66% from its debut weekend in one of the McU's worst-ever week 2 drops.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Worldwide Box Office: Beats The Incredible Hulk ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Marvel Studios’ latest film, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, raises concerns with its drastic slump on the second Friday. However, it has surpassed the worldwide haul of The Incredible Hulk, one of the least-grossing MCU movies ever. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby’s film will remain #1 on the domestic box office chart since there have been no major releases in recent weeks. This will help the MCU movie stay afloat at the box office. Keep scrolling for more.
The MCU movie’s box office is not looking so bright either. It seems the MCU will continue its faulty ride, which began after Avengers: Endgame. This movie also received strong reviews from critics and fans alike, but somehow, the box office is disconnected as it is failing to perform commercially.

Between movies, TV shows, and animated series, there have been over 50 Marvel Studios projects since Iron Man blasted onto our screens in 2008.
Ranking them is no easy feat, but Variety has taken a crack at it, and the results have proven hugely divisive. Moon Knight was worse than Echo and Captain America: Brave New World? The Fantastic Four: First Steps is beneath The Marvels and Ironheart? And wait, Avengers: Endgame is the best MCU movie over Black Panther?!
Some of you might agree with those decisions, but you can still probably see why this list has split opinions.
Looking back at these movies and TV shows, it's wild to see how far Marvel Studios has come since Phase 1 culminated with what was then the biggest superhero movie of all-time: The Avengers.
Ultimately, everyone's ranking is going to differ, and one person's favourite movie or TV show could be someone...

It doesn't look like Marvel Studios' plans for the Marvel Cinematic Universe include the Red Hulk. Unlike other MCU alums, Captain America: Brave New World actor Harrison Ford didn't mince his words when recently talking about his future with the franchise.
In an interview with Variety, Ford was asked if Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had convinced him to appear as the Red Hulk again in a future movie, to which the actor simply responded, "Nope." Ford's one-word answer will likely disappoint a portion of the fandom who waited years to see the Red Hulk on the big screen, only for him to show up in the final act of Brave New World, get defeated by Captain America instead of the Hulk, and then get locked away, now seemingly to never be seen again. However, at least Ford can be commended for not giving fans false hope, as most actors...

Neal McDonough Net Worth ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Neal McDonough is a popular actor who has featured in several movies and TV series and made his mark in the film industry. From starring in his breakout film, Darkman, to appearing in multiple Marvel movies as Timothy ‘Dum Dum’ Dugan, he has an impressive filmography. Despite having such a resume, there was a time when he didn’t get a job just because of one of his contract clauses.
He never wanted to have an onscreen kiss scene, not because of his wife, but because he was not comfortable doing it. And for that, there was a time when Hollywood had turned its back on him, and he lost many years without a job. McDonough is widely appreciated and respected. Here’s how much net worth he holds.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps will hold on to its #1 spot in the domestic box office chart on its second weekend, despite The Naked Gun’s release. It is eyeing a strong second weekend at the North American box office. Keep scrolling for the deets.
The film is trailing behind Superman at the same point in time. However, things might change in the upcoming weeks. There is a clash between the two movies despite releasing days apart, since one is a Marvel movie and the other is a DC movie. Robert Downey Jr. is back in the Marvel world, but this time he’s not Iron Man. He’s taking on the role of one of Marvel’s most famous villains, Doctor Doom, in Avengers: Doomsday. And Marvel is paying him big for it.
People close to the deal say Downey will get $95 million for playing Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
This comes after years of making huge money as Iron Man. Over four Avengers movies, three Iron Man films, and cameos in The Incredible Hulk, Captain America: Civil War, and Spider-Man: Homecoming, he’s already earned somewhere between $500 million and $600 million.
The talks for his return didn’t just happen recently. Variety says Downey began negotiating at least a year ago.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe's glory days are over. Insiders recently explained why the superhero franchise is unlikely to ever achieve the box office heights of The Infinity Saga again.
Superhero movies used to be all the rage a decade ago, with many finding box office success whether they were a hit with critics or not. Unfortunately, that box office era is in the rearview mirror, as many insiders noted to Variety for its article on the future of Marvel Studios. "There’s a reset of what a hit is, and I don’t see them consistently hitting $1 billion as before — without China, with Disney+ exposure, post-covid, without megastars," said one top agent who represents several clients in the MCU. "China used Marvel, Disney and the U.S. film industry to seed their own."

Harrison Ford responds to his potential return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Captain America: Brave New World. Ross first appeared in the MCU in The Incredible Hulk in 2008, with the late William Hurt taking on the character.
Hurt reprised his role for a handful of subsequent MCU movies, but Ford took up the mantle after Hurt's death in 2022. Ford made his debut as Ross in Captain America: Brave New World, which marked the first MCU movie to feature the character's alter ego, Red Hulk. There's been no word on Ross' future in the franchise.

It began with 2008’s “Iron Man,” a film that introduced the world to Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark with the hint that he could be part of something greater. Over 30 films later, the story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is still being told, albeit with various tributaries and detours that introduce new characters and new worlds that may or may not cross paths one day. Each film in the MCU stands on its own to some degree, but like building blocks, they all connect as part of one interconnected universe. And in that way, watching the Marvel movies in order tells one grand story.

Most of Marvel Studios’s films are the cinematic equivalent of breadcrumbs, which have been dropped into theaters strategically so as to keep one looking for the next sequel or crossover, when the endless televisual exposition will eventually, theoretically yield an event of actual consequence. Occasionally, however, a Marvel film transcends this impersonality and justifies one’s patience. Weird, stylish, and surprisingly lyrical, Ant-Man, Iron Man 3, and Doctor Strange attest to the benefits of the old Hollywood-style studio system that Marvel has resurrected: Under the umbrella of structure and quota is security, which can bequeath qualified freedom. Not everyone would have seen the 2008 Marvel film that was hailed as one of the worst Marvel movies, The Incredible Hulk. If you do watch it, though, you’ll notice Robert Downey Jr. in a post-credit scene in the film (Posted by TK503/Reddit)!
Considering the timeline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the post-credit scene seems to be very confusing for viewers because Tony Stark doesn’t meet Edward Norton’s Hulk at a bar. Marvel Studios has once again made its larger-than-life presence felt on the Hollywood landscape. The legendary Marvel Cinematic Universe has returned to silver screens all over the world to unveil its 37th film to audiences. The Fantastic Four: First Steps arrives after much anticipation and it's already making great impressions on moviegoers; that's including critics, as the film has an extremely good 89% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Yep, F4 is fresh.

That being said, if you were hoping that Marvel would get the chance to entertain us on the big screen again,...

Hulk Hogan, the blond and boisterous body-slammer who brought pro wrestling into the mainstream in the 1980s while becoming one of the most recognizable celebrities of his generation, died Thursday. He was 71.
Hogan’s death was confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter by promoter Eric Bischoff, his partner in the recently launched Real America Freestyle amateur wrestling league. TMZ reported that medical personnel were sent to his home in Clearwater, Florida, with operators stating it regarded a “cardiac arrest.”
“The Hulkster” headlined WrestleMania eight times, with perhaps his most memorable bout in the WWE’s signature event coming in 1987 against the 520-pound Andre the Giant — his mentor — in the Pontiac Silverdome before a then-record crowd of 93,173.
He won the World Wrestling Entertainment championship six times during his career.
Six-foot-7 and 320 pounds in his prime, Hogan — born Terry Bollea — would enter the ring in yellow trunks, boots and a bandana, his muscles bulging,...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is many things — sprawling, ambitious, occasionally chaotic — but closure has never been its strong suit. From dangling plot threads to surprise cameos that vanish into the multiverse ether, Phase 5 in particular has racked up its fair share of ghost characters. Remember Charlize Theron’s Clea in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness? Or Harry Styles’ Eros, who popped up in Eternals and then disappeared faster than a Ravager in a wormhole? If you’ve been waiting for those storylines to pay off… you might want to get comfortable. Speaking during a recent roundtable for Fantastic Four, attended by Collider's Steve Weintraub, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige addressed the elephant in the room — namely, the long list of character introductions that seem to go nowhere.
“There are plans for some and there are opportunities for all. It’s about finding what the right moment is.
