Dolph Lundgren, Sylvester Stallone, Andy Garcia, Jason Statham, Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Randy Couture, Tony Jaa, and Iko Uwais in Expendables 4 (2023)
You can thank China for this one! The Expendables 4 is officially happening. It will shoot in 2016, and arrive in theaters in 2017. At this time, no cast members have been confirmed, aside from franchise creator Sylvester Stallone. No director is in place yet.

Nu Image / Millennium have struck a deal with China that also includes the thriller Security. This follows deals made between China and Steven Paul's Sp International Pictures on behalf of Ssxh Beijing, as well as Max Screen Film Distribution. The deal between the country and Nu Image / Millennium covers equity investments in both movies. And it will provide Chinese distribution rights.

Both Security and The Expendables 4 will likely use China for on-location shooting, with scenes taking place in the country. But China is not expected to be such a big part of either movie's narrative that that they can be outright called Chinese co-productions. The...

Alain DesRochers Tackles Vampires with The Rising
Vampires in jungles. Those three words together have us smiling from ear-to-ear. THR reports that Alain DesRochers has come aboard to direct The Rising, a jungle action vampire movie being made by Millennium/Nu Image.

The company picked up the project as a spec from Paul Sloan last year.

The script is described as having been inspired by pulp heroes Doc Savage and Tarzan and “centers on a team of mercenaries whose search for a missing person in the jungles of Cambodia becomes a descent into the heart of darkness as they confront the dark force of a vampire.”

DesRocher is as French director who may be best known for helming and co-writing a 2007 French-Canadian action movie called Nitro. The movie had the distinction of beating out, in Quebec, such studio fare as Live Free or Die Hard and Ratatouille.

More as it comes.

Unlike what we believe, the Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois isn't just a film festival. It's also an opportunity to see the pilot of upcoming TV series before everybody. In fact, on Friday, February 26, the pilot of Musée Eden will be presented in the auditorium of the Grande bibliothèque at 7 Pm.

This upcoming TV series from Radio-Canada opens with the brutal murder of a man, Félix Courval, in the Montreal of the 1910s. He has two nieces - played by Laurence Leboeuf (Durham County) and Mariloup Wolfe (Ramdam) - who lives in St-Boniface, Manitoba. After Courval's death, the two women come to Montreal, the city where he lived, in order to know the content of his will. The oldest of the two women will inherit from a few buildings and above all, a museum where crime scenes are reproduced (even with the real blood of the victims).
