Sometimes Dick doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut. When George tells of a recurring dream where he is pushed off a cliff, Dick tells him if he hits the ground he will die. Of course, George wants to live and decides to never sleep again. There are a series of funny bits. He enlists friends and associates to come in on a schedule to keep him awake. The first are Larry and the boys who are pretty much worthless but really hilarious. Then in comes the librarian and the shoe guy (who reminds me of Mr. Carlin--Jack Riley, from the old Bob Newhart Show) and they dance the Bunny Hop. Eventually George begins to act in destructive ways. Dick gets him to see the shrink played by Melanie Chartoff (who is really beautiful) and eventually Peggy Fleming appears. Meanwhile, Michael and Stephanie are playing Donald Trump's "The Art of the Deal" to their unborn baby.
George refuses to go to sleep when he keeps having a dream about falling from a cliff.
A funny episode for George. He tries to keep from sleeping by having people from the town keep him awake. Larry and the Darryls show up with knitting needles to jab him if he dozes off. Miss Goddard and Mr Rusnak have him doing the Bunny Hop all night. Dr Kaiser (Melanie Chartoff's last appearance) helps George complete the dream.

Every "Newhart" with Melanie Chartoff as Doctor Kaiser is worth a peek, and this is no exception.
George (Tom Poston) is suffering so badly from recurring nightmares he tries to keep from going to sleep at all.
Any further description takes us onto spoiler territory. Let's just say, like the best episodes of this classic 1980s show, it twists wackiest and wackier until the final revelation with a bizarre special guest star.
I won't reveal the guest star but the internet movie data base cast list can spoil it, so don't look there. I can only say I still have a vivid memory of when this episide was first broadcast and I had some of the biggest laughs any TV show ever gave me. A lovely episode that never stops.
