The Incredibly Strange Film Show (1988) "Jackie Chan"
This British television show was hosted by Jonathan Ross and featured interviews with various "B" movie makers. When viewed today this series is all the more important because so many of the filmmakers are no longer with us.
At the time this episode originally aired, very few people were aware of who Jackie Chan was. Yes, he was a hit in certain places but the likes of the United States still hadn't seen him. This was years before RUMBLE IN THE BRONX and of course the RUSH HOUR series so it's fascinating to see how he was being sold here. The interview with Chan is a lot of fun but this episode goes with a lot more movie clips than normal. This is certainly understandable because the viewer might have heard about Chan but getting to see what he's all about is where the entertainment comes from. There's certainly nothing ground-breaking here but it's a fun look at the man and his films up to that point.
