Connections

The scene where Don Megowan is chasing a bank robber and jumps onto the robber's horse, and the white horse carrying the two men runs off the end of a damaged bridge and falls head first into a river was actually a scene from the WB film San Antonio (1945). In San Antonio it's Errol Flynn chasing Paul Kelly, and Flynn jumps onto Kelly's horse before the two men and white horse fall off the end of the damaged bridge into the river. In both Cheyenne's "Star in the Dust" and San Antonio the white horse is shown wading out of the river unharmed. Although San Antonio was filmed in Technicolor while the Cheyenne episode was B&W, the scene is easily recognizable as a one filmed 10 years previous.
