Airwolf brings its cynical political viewpoint to Africa. Marty Vidor is an ace pilot who works as a mercenary for South Limbawe. Its chief general plans to get rid of the puppet president and escalate the war with North Limbawe.
Vidor served in Vietnam with Hawke and might know the whereabouts of his brother, but Hawke thinks he might be able to redeem his old commanding officer. Hawke has been sent by Archangel to aid North Limbawe whose leader is sceptical of westerners who want to help out especially as both countries have oil resources.
There is plenty of sturdy acting from Jan-Michael Vincent through his helmet whereas the hills of California makes for an unconvincing African country.
