A mind blowing not a really mind blowing

Saturday, 2 AM, Brasil.

Can't sleep and I just start browsing TV. Suddenly a nude scene plus a awful band, in a row, catch my attention. Matheus Nachtergaele shows up on the telly and I stare (about more 20 painful minutes).

That's it.

The review "An Intense and Daring Joke!" from "rotildao" (UK) says it all about this movie with a single line: 'The script and editing are the downfalls of the movie, like a band without a bass player (or like the one-day-band in the movie)'

And, sure, Rosanne Mulholland is really something absolutely amazing.

life becomes mechanical and stressful under the weight of expectations

In the first 10 minutes, the movie addresses numerous political issues, which is surprisingly deep. After that, it explores modern generational psychological problems, self-destruction, drug use, sexual dissatisfaction, and cult culture... Their life becomes mechanical and stressful under the weight of expectations.

This film could have been great, but its focus on excessive nudity and sexual dissatisfaction detracts from its potential. Some scenes depict straight male characters engaging in gay sex and straight female characters in lesbian sex, which feels forced and undermines the film's quality.

Rosanne Mulholland said it was a bit difficult for her to shoot the nude scenes in this movie. "I confess that when 'A Concepção' premiered, at the Brasília Festival, I couldn't get up from my chair because I was nervous. I was very nervous, but I think it's part of the actor's job, if it's within the proposal of the film, it's important for the story that is being told. In the case of 'A Concepção', you couldn't do it under the blanket, there was no point in talking about identity, talking about breaking the rules, drugs, sexual freedom and all, it would be hypocritical and the film was not supposed to be a hypocrite. There are some films that ask for, I don't know, I was willing to challenge myself and do. But it is not easy," Mulholland said.
