Disney+ has unveiled an all-star cast for its series about Jean Charles de Menezes, who was tragically mistaken for a terrorist after the London 7/7 bombings by police and shot dead.
Set to premiere in the spring, Jeff Pope’s series Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes has cast a newcomer in the role of de Menezes, Edison Alcaide, who will be joined by Conleth Hill, Russell Tovey, Max Beesley, Emily Mortimer, Daniel Mays, Laura Aikman and The Crown star Alex Jennings.
Mortimer will play Cressida Dick, who went on to become the chief of the Metropolitan Police, while Hill is Sir Ian Blair, who was police chief at the time of de Menezes’ death.
The series comes 20 years after 7/7 and a wealth of documentaries about the attack that shook Britain are also airing or have already aired, including Channel 4’s Shoot to Kill: Terror on the Tube about de Menezes.

Editor's Note: This article contains graphic details that may be triggering for some readers.Saddleworth Moor, in northwestern England, is one of the most beautiful places you'll ever see, an untouched piece of heaven with rolling hills, green grass, and pristine waters as far as the eye can see. But in the 1960s, Saddleworth Moor's green grass was used to cover up a series of crimes blacker than night, collectively known as the Moors Murders. Five children, killed in horrifying, grisly fashion, by the pair of Ian Brady and his girlfriend, Myra Hindley. It's a period of time captured in the two-part miniseries See No Evil: The Moors Murders (aka See No Evil: The Story of the Moors Murders), a 2006 series that is graceful in its depiction of true ugliness.

Venice - NBC's "The Office" rang frequent laughs from Dwight Schrute's beet farm, with glimpses of backwards Cousin Mose and his feral antics proving particularly fertile ground for comedy ("And as of this morning, we are completely wireless here at Schrute Farms, but as soon as I find out where Mose hid all the wires, we'll get all that power back on.") This kind of vaguely unsettling boys-on-the-farm vibe is played straight in "The Goob", a character piece that has atmosphere to spare, and whose minimal plot is helped along by the happily original setting; this might be the first film shot in Norfolk to premiere at Venice. Self-described as "a psychological Western" and set largely on farmland of sorts in the flat formerly marshy Fens in the East of England (think the reclaimed bits of the Everglades without the redeeming features of exotic wildlife or sunshine), The Goob is...
