The film follows Wallace (Radcliffe), a young man who is burned out from a string of failing relationships, when he forms a bond with his long-time girlfriend's roommate's friend, Chantry (Karzan). Together, they try to decipher what it means if your best friend is also the love of your life. In addition to Radcliffe, Driver, Karzan, and Spall, What If also stars Megan Park, Mackenzie Davis, and Lucius Hoyos, and currently sits at solid scores of 74% from critics and 69% from general audiences on the aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes.

Fox is hungry for a different kind of advertising dollar.

The Fox Corp.-owned broadcast network has thrived for years on outlays from movie studios and fast-food chains, but in 2023, it’s looking to expand its relationship with something that might be more hearty. Armed with its recent launch of the Studio Ramsay Global with celebrity chef and entrepreneur Gordon Ramsay, Fox is eager to court more food advertisers and marketers who are eager to woo consumers who like food experiences.

“We are really the only broadcast network with any food-related programming, over 80 hours a year,” says Suzanne Sullivan, executive vice president of ad sales for Fox Entertainment, in an interview. Fox hopes the combination of Ramsay’s shows on its broadcast network; a new spate of short-form content that will be available on YouTube; and the launch of a Fast channel that makes use of Ramsay’s many shows...

The restaurant makeover show from the Emmy-nominated host, chef, producer and hospitality expert is TV’s No. 1 cooking show for the 2018/2019 season among adults 18-49 and total viewers.

The series, produced by Studio Ramsay, features Ramsay traveling to struggling restaurants around the country in his state-of-the-art mobile kitchen and command center, Hell on Wheels, as he goes undercover to see their problems first-hand. After that, Ramsay and his team redesign the interior, menu and kitchen – all in just 24 hours.

Ramsay received his first Emmy nomination for the network’s hit kids cooking competition series MasterChef Junior. He has served up three big franchises for Fox — Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares and MasterChef — in addition to other series, including The F Word.

Viacom is adding a trio of channels from its recently-acquired Pluto TV to My5, the on-demand service of Channel 5, the U.K. free-to-air broadcaster it also owns.

Ad-supported Ott service Pluto TV is already available in the U.K., but the My5 deal widens its distribution. It also bulks up My5 at a time when traditional broadcasters are keen to bulk up their on-demand offerings in the face of fierce competition from the streamers. The first season of “The F Word: A Foster-to-Adopt Story” was all about preparing to foster a child, the countless considerations that go into such a big decision, and the challenges of navigating the system as a queer couple. The short form series, released in 2017 and subsequently nominated for a Gotham Award, was uncommonly personal, exceedingly charming, and somehow turned a complicated topic into a contemporary family comedy. Paul Schrader’s “First Reformed,” Yorgos Lanthimos’ “The Favourite,” Barry Jenkins’ “If Beale Street Could Talk,” Joseph Decker’s “Madeline’s Madeline” and Chloe Zhao’s “The Rider” have been nominated for the top award at the Ifp Gotham Awards, the Independent Filmmaker Project announced on Thursday.

In nominations that were evenly distributed among 19 independent movies, “First Reformed” led all films with three nominations – one for the film, one for lead actor Ethan Hawke and one for Schrader’s screenplay about a pastor tortured by the death of his son in Iraq.

“The Favourite,” a twisted period piece set in early 18th century England, received nominations for film and screenplay, as well as a special Gotham Awards voted to its three leading actresses: Olivia Colman, Emma Stone and Rachel Weisz.

The 2018-19 awards season has officially begun with the nominations announcement for the 2018 Gotham Awards. The awards ceremony, presented by the Independent Filmmaker Project (Ifp), consists of 10 awards given to independent features and series.

Nominees for the 2018 Gotham Awards were selected by committees made up of film critics, journalists, festival programmers, and film curators. This year’s nomination jury included IndieWire’s own Eric Kohn, David Ehrlich, Liz Shannon Miller, and Jude Dry. The Gotham winners are decided by a separate jury of filmmakers, writers, producers, and other crew members directly involved in making films. The Audience Award is selected by Ifp members through online voting.

The nominees for the 2018 Gotham Awards are led by Yorgos Lanthimos’ “The Favourite” and Paul Schrader’s “First Reformed,” which both picked up three nominations a piece. The films will compete for best feature opposite “Madeline’s Madeline,” “The Rider,” and “If Beale Street Could Talk.

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is gearing up to go into uncharted territory with his upcoming Nat Geo travel series — or parts that are unknown, as some critics have been quick to point out.

Ramsay’s new show, “Uncharted” — which was announced earlier this month — sounds strikingly similar to the late Anthony Bourdain’s CNN docuseries “Parts Unknown.” And Ramsay has felt the swift backlash from fans who cried “too soon!” at what they believe to be a ripoff of Bourdain’s — who died in June — Emmy-nominated program.

But that doesn’t mean he agrees with it or thinks “Uncharted” is a copycat production of his “great mate”s program.

NBC had a seamless transition on Wednesday, with the debut of spinoff alternative series Little Big Shots: Forever Young picking up where the Season 2 finale of mothership series Forever Young left off last week. NBC’s The Carmichael Show opened Season 3 on Wednesday with 4.3 million total viewers and a 0.9 demo rating, matching its Season 2 average and sharply improving on the final four episodes of that run; TVLine readers gave the episode an average grade of “B+.” A second episode ticked down to 3.5 mil and a 0.8.

Opening the Peacock’s night, the relocated Little Big Shots (7.6 mil/1.2) added eyeballs but dipped a tenth versus its most recent Sunday airing, and led the night in both measures.

Gordon Ramsay is currently gearing up for the premiere of his new show, The F Word, but if this teaser of him and Kevin Spacey's swear-off was all we got, it would be more than enough. While Gordon is known for never mincing his words, even he looks a bit taken aback by Kevin's liberal use of the word "f*ck." In a now-viral video, Kevin starts by discussing his upcoming one-man play, Clarence Darrow, but things quickly take a turn when they go head to head in a swear-off contest. Gordon Ramsay is holding nothing back—and we don’t mean during one of his many temper tantrums.

In a clip posted to his YouTube channel on Tuesday, the shouty chef wakes up in a beaten down hotel room for his Fox show Hotel Hell and strips down to take a shower. What you’d expect to see next is some blurred out body parts or above-the-waist camera work, but, nope. Instead, Ramsay bears his bare bum for all to see.

“This f—— shower is hideous, water is freezing, this place stinks,” he says before pushing his toned derrière against the clear shower door.

Fox has its summer plans all set: The network announced premiere dates for eight of its summer shows on Wednesday, including Season 14 of the dance competition So You Think You Can Dance and the reboot of ’80s game show Love Connection, with Bravo’s Andy Cohen hosting.

Sharpen those knives, chefs: Bravo’s Top Chef has set a return date for Season 14 — and a few familiar faces are getting back into the kitchen.

The hit cooking competition will return for an all-new season on Dec. 1 at 10/9c, the network announced Thursday. Fox has ordered a new series from its biggest reality star, Gordon Ramsay. The network has picked up live food variety show The F Word from the popular chef, TV personality for premiere in 2017. This marks the first series for Studio Ramsay, the independent production company Ramsay launched earlier this year, and hails from the company’s joint venture with All3Media.

Like other Ramsay shows on Fox, The F Word is based on his hit UK series of the same name. The F Word is described as a cooking competition meets variety show. Each hourlong live episode will feature Ramsay as he chats with surprise guests and VIPs in the dining room, hosts live remotes with people from across the country, and appears weekly in unique field segments with fans, foodies and culinary experts.

The UK series launched in 2005 and aired for five seasons, wrapping in 2010.
