Despite winning over critics and cinephiles with an 86% Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score, a 91% audience score, and a solid 7.3/10 IMDb rating, The Fantastic Four: First Steps hasn’t quite become the mega-blockbuster Marvel fans expected. Still, with a worldwide haul of nearly $469 million, the reboot currently ranks among the top ten highest-grossing movies of 2025 globally.

As it inches closer to the $500 million mark, First Steps has already crossed a major milestone, overtaking the lifetime earnings of Steven Soderbergh’s 83%-rated star-studded 2001 heist classic Ocean’s Eleven, featuring George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts. Here’s how the two films compare at the global box office.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps vs. Ocean’s Eleven – Box Office Comparison

Ocean's 11 Prequel Finally Moving Forward As It Hires Director Of $372M Hit Legacy Sequel
Image
The Ocean's Eleven prequel film is finally moving forward, as it hires a director. Ocean's Eleven was originally a 1960 movie starring Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, but the most well-known version is the 2001 remake. The remake was helmed by Steven Soderbergh and featured a leading cast including George Clooney, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon.

The main cast returned for the sequel films Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen. After an eleven-year gap, the franchise returned with the female-led reboot movie Ocean's Eight. Since then, an Ocean's Eleven prequel film was announced, though development has been slow.

As per Deadline, the Ocean's Eleven prequel film will be directed by Lee Isaac Chung. While the story is still under wraps, the screenplay will be penned by Carrie Solomon. Casting details are also under wraps.

‘The Naked Gun’ reboot is coming -- stream these crime comedies first
Image
From clueless detectives to wild heists, these picks bring the laughs and the crime.

I’ve got tickets later this week to see the reboot of “The Naked Gun” and yeah… in my mind, there’s no one like Leslie Nielsen. But Liam Neeson (same initials — love that) is stepping up as Frank Drebin Jr., and I’m honestly curious to see what he does with it. It’s a direct sequel to “Naked Gun 33 1/3,” with Neeson playing the son of Frank Drebin, as he stumbles his way through investigations, much like his dad. The best part? The trailer is actually hilarious, and it got me in the mood for more crime comedies. So, here’s my list of the best crime comedy movies on streaming right now.

Top 7 crime-comedy movies on streaming right now

No. 6: ‘The Nice Guys’

No. 5: ‘Ocean’s Eleven’

Image
F1 Worldwide Box Office: Enters WB’s Top 100 Highest-Grossing Films List (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Brad Pitt starrer F1 is being lauded for its unreal cinematic experience, and it has achieved a significant feat with its latest worldwide total. The movie gained ground soon after its release and entertained the viewers with its thrilling content and impressive performances. However, like Mission: Impossible 8, Pitt’s film was also made on a massive budget; thus, it must make almost twice its global total to be a box office success. Keep scrolling for the deets.

It is one of Brad Pitt’s top 20 highest-grossing films. But to become the highest-grossing film in Pitt’s career, it will have to surpass the $540.45 million global haul of World War Z. It does not seem like a challenging target for the film, but it will not come easily with Jurassic World Rebirth and Superman‘s strong presence.

Brad Pitt’s ‘Hit vs Flop’ Ratio: 12 Years Ago, Brad Pitt Delivered the Highest-Grossing Movie of His Acting Career
Image
Brad Pitt’s got that timeless spark — smooth charm, real emotion, and just the right bit of cool. He’s done it all, from serious dramas to wild thrill rides. His latest? A flashy Formula 1 flick, F1, that zoomed into theatres on June 27, 2025. It’s fast and fun, but die-hard F1 fans might spot a few bumps. Still, Pitt owns the screen like always.

That said, it’s no small feat — the film goes big, and Pitt once again brings that weighty, grounded energy to the screen. It’s not his first time making noise with a bold, action-packed project either.

Funny thing is, his biggest hit ever? A globe-hopping zombie thriller from 12 years ago that absolutely devoured the box office. Travel back 12 years, and you’ll land on the movie that still holds the crown as his biggest box office hit. And yes, it totally ate up the box office.

Brad Pitt's 'F1' Takes Just Four Days to Overtake His 'Ocean's Thirteen' Castmate’s Oscar-Winning Drama
Image
Joseph Kosinski's F1 has sped ahead of the competition as its box office race begins, earning a huge $57 million in the US alone on its opening weekend. This has helped F1 take pole position in the current box office rankings during a time of stiff competition, including from the likes of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, Universal’s How to Train Your Dragon remake, Danny Boyle and Alex Garland's 28 Years Later, Disney's long-awaited live-action Lilo & Stitch remake, and much more.

Currently, after just four days, F1 has earned a global haul of $153.2 million, split between a domestic total of $63.9 million and a further $89.3 million from overseas markets. This has already placed the movie as the 13th highest-grossing film of the year so far, and helped Brad Pitt, who stars alongside Damson Idris and Javier Bardem, take his all-time global total past the $9 billion mark. Netflix's 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame' Movie Finds Its Quasimodo
Image
Netflix has lined up its next movie inspired by a Disney classic, and this one will have people ringing the bells! The bells! The streaming company has greenlit a feature retelling of Victor Hugo's French gothic novel The Hunchback of Notre-Dame, which was loosely adapted into the 1996 animated musical of the same name from the House of Mouse. The new project, aptly titled Quasimodo after the book's protagonist, has cast Vincent Cassel, star of Ocean's Twelve and Ocean's Thirteen, to play the role of the kind-hearted Notre Dame bell-ringer.

According to Deadline, Jean-François Richet, the filmmaker behind the 2023 action thriller Plane that recently landed on Netflix, is onboard to direct Quasimodo from a script written by Eric Besnard. The logline for the Netflix project (shared below) suggests that the film will offer a bold new take on the classic story, focused around the life of the man who inspired it,...

July Will Be a Sad Month for ‘Overlord’ Fans
Image
In typical Netflix fashion, the streaming giant is already gearing up for the removal of several favorites, including some high-profile movies, series, and a couple of Netflix Originals, ahead of next month. Among these works of art is the beloved isekai anime series, Overlord, as confirmed by What’s on Netflix. All four seasons of Overlord depart Netflix on July 1, about three weeks away, which may not be enough time for fans to revisit the 52-episode series.

While this may be saddening, several other options are available to stream Overlord. Crunchyroll currently streams all four seasons but may not be as easily accessible as Netflix. Hulu offers Overlord, too, but unfortunately, only Season 1 is available on the streamer. Meanwhile, for physical media collectors, retailers list each collection for around $30-40, depending on the format.

Overlord is based on Kugane Maruyama’s eponymous light novel series and was produced by Madhouse...

"That's More Than a Whisper": Andy Garcia Confirms 'Ocean's 14' Is In The Works [Exclusive]
Image
Andy Garcia just dropped the smoothest confirmation at the Newport Beach TV Festival: Ocean’s 14 is happening — and it’s more than just the usual Hollywood rumour mill. In an exclusive conversation with Collider’s Aidan Kelley, the Landman and Ocean’s franchise star didn’t hesitate when asked if he’d return to the role of Terry Benedict, the Vegas mogul-turned-reluctant ally of Danny Ocean (George Clooney) and Rusty Ryan (Brad Pitt).

“That seems to be — that’s more than a whisper, I think. I think they’re just finding the time where everybody can do it, I think. Or specifically, I guess, Brad and George. But yeah, it’s out there.”

While Garcia doesn't outright confirm he'll be reprising his sly franchise villain for another film, the casual confirmation comes hot on the heels of recent reports that Bullet Train and Deadpool 2 director David Leitch is in...

Al Pacino Cashed In on this $311M Film, While Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones Snubbed It
Image
Al Pacino is easily the epitome of a legendary actor, having received eight Academy Award nominations. The actor rose to prominence as a leading man in the 1970s and remained a bankable name well into the 21st century. As a result, it isn’t a surprise that when the opportunity arose, the actor cashed in on a $311 million hit.

On the other hand, the same movie was expected to feature Julia Roberts and Catherine Zeta-Jones. However, the actresses opted not to return for this third installment of the franchise. Here is why Al Pacino decided to join the cast of this 2007 movie while Roberts and Zeta-Jones opted to sit out from the blockbuster.

George Clooney Doesn’t Want to ‘Compete with 25-Year-Old Leading Men’ for Rom-Com Roles: ‘That’s Not My Job’
Image
George Clooney is stepping away from one genre of film for good: rom-coms.

The actor said during CBS‘ “60 Minutes” that he will no longer be leading “romantic films” and instead is just fine with younger stars taking on lead roles. “Look, I’m 63 years old,” the Oscar winner said. “I’m not trying to compete with 25-year-old leading men. That’s not my job. I’m not doing romantic films anymore.”

Clooney instead is focusing on his Broadway debut with the “Good Night, and Good Luck” stage adaptation. Clooney co-wrote and directed the film in 2005 based on the true story of Edward R. Murrow battling the McCarthyism blacklists. Clooney admitted, though, that starring on Broadway is “trickier the older you get,” despite taking years for him to believe he was ready for the stage.

“I didn’t do the work required to get there,” he said. “There isn’t...

George Clooney Says New ‘Ocean’s’ Film Is About the Gang Being ‘Too Old to Do the Jobs’
Image
Time may have passed, but George Clooney is still up to his old shenanigans. Or at least back to playing career criminal Danny Ocean again.

Speaking in an interview with The New York Times, the Academy Award-winning actor teased the latest installment in the long-running franchise, which would serve as a follow-up to “Ocean’s Thirteen.”

“It’s like we’re all too old to do the jobs we used to be able to do,” Clooney said.

Clooney previously spoke of the project in an interview with Uproxx back in December 2023, where he compared the script to the 1979 comedy “Going in Style,” starring George Burns, Art Carney, and Lee Strasberg. At the Los Angeles premiere of “Wolfs” back in September 2024, he also told E! News that he’d gotten the rest of the old team on board to return.

“We have a really good script,” said Clooney. “Everyone’s read it and ready to do it.

Garth Ennis, the celebrated comic book creator behind The Boys and Marvel’s Fury, has cast doubt on the long-standing rumor that George Clooney turned down the role of Nick Fury due to Ennis’ controversial 2001 miniseries. In an interview with Comic Book Herald, Ennis expressed skepticism about whether Clooney had ever read Fury and questioned whether Marvel would have adapted his R-rated take on the character had a film materialized.

Every Ocean's Movie, Ranked From Worst To Best
Image
If you're only familiar with director Steven Soderbergh's take on Danny Ocean's (George Clooney) story in his "Ocean's" trilogy — which kicked off in 2001 — you might not know that the actual first movie centering around a guy named Ocean and a big Las Vegas heist actually came out in 1960. So which ones in this series are the best, and which are the worst?

I feel pretty comfortable saying that I'm going to ruffle some feathers with this ranking, and I'm fine with that. I love picking hyper-specific hills and then dying upon them; it's one of my absolute favorite hobbies. Still, with just five "Ocean's" movies to choose from — putting aside the rumored prequel with Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie as Danny's parents — it's a fairly close ranking, but there's still a definitive answer. Here are the "Ocean's" movies ranked from worst to best, and I guarantee people...

Sci-Fi Movie History Was Made 43 Years Ago Thanks to a Feat That May Never Be Repeated
Image
Audiences are probably pretty accustomed to hearing something like "they just don't make 'em like they used to anymore" in regard to movies. It is definitely a different era of cinema where the big-budget blockbusters get all the attention while the independent and grounded genre films fall under the radar of larger audiences. What's interesting is that the blockbuster trend started some time ago in the late '70s and early '80s when directors like Lucas, Scott and Cameron changed the face of genre filmmaking. One of the genres most affected was science fiction, and it seems like most contemporary big blockbusters exist in this genre. However, popcorn movies are losing more and more substance as the years go by. The remakes and reboots are oversaturating the market, along with the newer interconnected universes.

Back when studios took chances on all kinds of movies, hidden gems and unexpected hits would delightfully find an audience.

The Fall Guy director David Leitch is the latest filmmaker to be linked with Warner Bros’ heist sequel, Ocean’s 14.

Warner Bros has explored ways to spin out films from its Ocean’s series in the 18 years since Ocean’s 13 released, talk about another entry in the mainline series has slowly been picking up pace. George Clooney and Brad Pitt are said to be keen to reunite, having recently done so for Jon Watts’ Wolfs. Clooney stated a few months ago that a “great script” was in place, and now it seems the search for a director is gathering momentum.

Steven Soderbergh, director of the first three Ocean’s films, has indicated in the past that he isn’t interested in returning to make another. According to The Insneider, David Leitch is now in the frame to pick up the reins. Leitch’s recent filmography focuses on big action set pieces in a comic style,...

Director David Leitch in Talks to Direct 'Ocean's 14'
Image
David Leitch could soon be sailing into the Ocean's franchise waters; the fan-favorite action director is reportedly in early talks to helm Ocean's 14. The upcoming feature will mark the first of the franchise films starring Brad Pitt and George Clooney that Steven Soderbergh will not direct. Clooney will also be involved in Ocean's 14, reprising his role as Danny Ocean and serving as a producer.

It's an exciting development for fans of Leitch's work and the series itself, given his previous work directing mega-action flicks like John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Fall Guy, starring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt. That last one was a particularly personal one for the director, given his time working as a stuntman (often with Pitt) before becoming a director. He also directed the raucous Bullet Train, which starred Pitt as the unlucky assassin Ladybug. Pitt, though not officially confirmed, is expected...

“We have a really good script for another ‘Ocean’s’ now, so we may end up doing another one. It’s actually a great script,” Clooney previosuly said. While he was reluctant to call it “Ocean’s Fourteen,” he did say, “The idea is kind of like ‘Going In Style,’” referencing the 1979 film written and directed by Martin Brest, starring George Burns, Art Carney and Lee Strasberg, about three elderly friends who decide to break the monotony of their lives by pulling off a heist.

“The Fall Guy” and filmmaker David Leitch is in talks to direct “Ocean’s 14” for Warner Bros.

George Clooney’s Smokehouse banner is behind the fourth film in the “Ocean’s Eleven” franchise, so it’s expected the star will return alongside Brad Pitt, who collaborated with Leitch on “Bullet Train.”

The original “Ocean’s” trilogy, directed by Steven Soderbergh, featured Clooney and Pitt alongside Matt Damon, Don Cheadle, Casey Affleck and more. The heist trilogy launched in 2001 with “Ocean’s Eleven,” a critical favorite and a commercial hit with just over $450 million at the worldwide box office, and continued with 2004’s “Ocean’s Twelve” ($362 million) and 2007’s “Ocean’s Thirteen” ($311 million).

A female-centered spinoff, 2018’s “Ocean’s 8,” starred Sandra Bullock as the sister of George Clooney’s Danny Ocean with Cate Blanchett, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Awkwafina, Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway. The movie hit the $297 million mark worldwide.

TheInSneider was the first to report the news.

The latest film in the heist movie franchise is expected to see the return of George Clooney as Danny Ocean, with Clooney’s Smokehouse banner behind the Warner Bros. project. When Johnny Depp & Mark Wahlberg Told Ocean’s Eleven Producers To ‘F**k Off’
Image
Did Johnny Depp and Mark Wahlberg ask Ocean Eleven’s producers to get lost? (Photo Credit – Instagram)

When George Clooney and director Steven Soderbergh pitched them Ocean’s Eleven, the two A-listers didn’t just say no; they delivered a full-on Hollywood “f**k off.” Fast forward two decades, and Clooney claims they’re kicking themselves over that choice.

Speaking at the 2023 TCM Classic Film Festival, Clooney didn’t hold back: “Some very famous people told us to f**k right off. Mark Wahlberg, Johnny Depp. There were others.” That’s right, Ocean’s Eleven was apparently too slick for some egos back then.

And oh, what a mistake. The movie went on to gross over $450M globally, spawning two sequels and the spin-off Ocean’s Eight. With a cast headlined by Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, and Julia Roberts, it oozed style, wit, and swagger. Meanwhile, Depp and Wahlberg opted out of...
