Summaries

  • An heiress doubles as a maid and a janitor is determined to look like a gentleman. A grand ball takes place and the rich girl refuses to wed the aristocrat until she discovers that he is really the porter.
  • Love and romance in a fashionable hotel from the heiress down to the janitor are the themes of Hal Roach's latest. "Sunshine Sammy" and "Paul Parrott" play the leading comedy parts. The heiress pretends to be the maid and the janitor makes believe that he is a gentleman. At the grand ball the heiress refuses to marry the gentleman, but later when she discovers that he is the hotel porter her love for him is awakened. Quite a few laughs are recorded during the ball. The janitor's patent leather shoes pinch so hard that electric sparks shoot out from his feet. He takes them off and places them beside him not realizing that they rested on the end of a lady's train. When she walks across the room the shoes ride after her. In rescuing the shoes the train and dress are torn away, but the sight is quickly covered with a cloak taken from a man. This time the man is left in his B.V.D.'s.—The Film Daily - February 12, 1922
