Carnival Row (2019)

Trivia

Carnival Row

Edit
The fae homeland is called Tirnanoc. In Celtic mythology, the land of Tír na nÓg (lit. "land of the young") is a magical land of eternal youth.
In an interview with Mailonline, Orlando Bloom, who is 42, admitted that it was awkward filming the racy nude sex scenes, which leave little to the imagination, with his 27-year-old co-star Cara Delevingne. Orlando said "I don't think it's intentionally gratuitous, it leads into the fantasy genre of the show, it's good." Then he admitted "It's quite punchy. It's always a little awkward, honestly, there's a lot of people standing around watching you pretending to have sex."
During an interview with Collider, Cara Delevingne admitted she loved her prosthetic pixie wings so much that she took several pictures of herself naked with them.
This was originally the subject of a fierce bidding war, ultimately won by Legendary Studios. During the early stages of pre-production, Guillermo del Toro, Neil Jordan and Tarsem Singh were being courted to direct, but in the end, the decision was made to develop it as a TV project.
There are several name references to Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. Philostrate and Flute come directly from minor characters in the play. The fauns' derogatory title, Puck, is another name for the trickster fairy, Robin Goodfellow. In the flashback, the fairies pray to St. Titania, queen of the fairies. Other names are similar to characters in the play. Egreus is Egeus with an added R. Quill is similar to Quince. Several surnames are compound words like the names of some fairies from the play. Shakespeare: Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mustardseed. Carnival Row: Stonemoss, Millworthy, Spurnrose, Breakspeare, Longerbane.
