The Ayithey team has done it again. Nice plot, sane direction and good music, all rare in Thelugu movies, make this movie a must-see for a Tollywood fan. Jagapathi Babu, Charmie and the Ayithey guy have done a good job in front of the camera while the director and his team did an equally laudable job behind. KeeravaNi came up some fresh music that works in tandem with the story.
A starking feature of this team's movies seems to be the earthly manner of portraying characters. Also the dialogues are so colloquial that a normal person can very well feel the intensity and tone. Some scenes like the Jagapathi Babu's jostling scene near the end were captured with a very real touch, like in a documentary.
Dealing with issues of drugs and bigotry, the movie stands apart from typical run of the mill Thelugu movies that don't qualify even to appear on websites like IMDb. Go watch it IN A THEATRE... please encourage at least the good film makers!

My words were WOW!!, after I watched this movie. Excellent movie in recent times!!! It seems like there is hope left that even Tollywood can produce a masterpiece like this. The movie provides everything - stupendous direction, each and every character very well crafted, timely songs, and mainly the suspense thats not let out till the end of movie. You are made to think about various things about the climax of the movie, and at the end entirely a very different outcome is shown. Honestly, I never thought Jagapathi Babu had such talent in him. He was quite amazing in the movie. The same thought about Charmi. I personally like her cute face. I have to agree that the guy from "AIYTHE" was just perfect for the cab driver role. The movie left me with a good feeling, and thanks to all those who made the movie a great success. So if you haven't watched the movie, its about time to do so!!
This movie starts off slow, but picks up the pace and engrosses the viewers soon enough. You cannot piece the puzzle together until almost the last 20 minutes, and some scenes seem disconnected until the time of the realization. But, yet, the realization is not an "aha" moment, but a "oh. .is that so".. So, some parts of the plot seem contrived. But compared to the run of the mill telugu movies, this is a lot .. i mean a lot, better.
Narrative, screenplay and direction are good. Like another user mentioned earlier here, there is a documentary touch to some shots. Narrative seems a bit slow at times, but it could be because the pieces seem disconnected.
Charmy did a good job, both as the free spirit initially, the terrified/worried one later.. She also did a good job as the drugged one, but there she seemed to imitate the terrific portrayal of sridevi in "vasantha kokila"..
Jagapathi babu and the hero did a good job too. The "school master" character was funny and had us in splits. Good pun in the over-enthusiastic English was well written - like "u want to come inside from outside", "u dance , i glance"..
All in all - a movie that is definitely recommended.

I accidentally came across this movie and thought of giving it a try since I am not from South had not seen any movie of the actors so far. The hero of the movie is the story and the director, the story is something different and presented very well the viewers don't loose the interest. Even though I have not completed the movie twenty minutes is still left but i recommend it.
Anukokunda Oka Roju is a more unique thriller in Telugu films which came in a time where the mass masala films were dominating. The film didn't perform up to the mark at the time, but clearly it has stood as a cult classic today. The cult classic status is definitely well deserved for this film which creates a thrilling film that keeps you asking questions. Chandrasekhar Yeleti has created a masterclass thriller for the Telugu audience.
Charmee is apt for the role as Sahasra and she plays the strong, soft role quite effortlessly and makes us worry about what happened the night she doesn't remember. Jagapthi Babu is hilarious in his role, he makes the movie a fun watch and puts all his egos aside to play the part wholeheartedly. Shashank is another breath of fresh air. Harshavardhan, Sivannarayana, and other actors generate good laughs to keep up invested in the movie and help develop the main characters. All the reveals and obstacles faced by the characters make us tense and worry.
This is the kind of output I expect and wanted to see more from Chandrasekhar Yeleti, hope he can bounce back to those days and deliver offbeat films which aren't worried about commercializing. He delves into some touching topics like drugs and cults in this film.
Overall a must watch movie for all Telugu movie lovers, especially if you like thrillers.
