Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni’s ongoing legal drama surrounding It Ends With Us has stirred up quite the storm, and it’s impossible to ignore the ripple effects on everyone involved. Adding an extra layer of intrigue, Blake’s husband, Ryan Reynolds, found himself caught up in the whirlwind.
What started as a dispute between Lively and Baldoni escalated when Reynolds became part of the conversation through Baldoni’s countersuit against The New York Times.

As the dust settles, it’s clear that all parties face personal and professional challenges. However, when it comes to comparing the financial standing of Baldoni and Reynolds, the gap is so massive it barely feels fair.

Suits is one of the most perfect shows out there, but its origins were quite different from what fans know and love today. When Aaron Korsh first conceived Suits, the initial draft focused on Wall Street drama and lacked many of the iconic elements we now associate with the series.

However, it was due to a 2000s TV show called The $treet, where, surprisingly, the Louis Litt actor, Rick Hoffman, who later became a standout in the series, was also present, that he chose a different path when pitching the show. Thus, it eventually birthed the masterpiece we know today!

In the vast landscape of ever-changing music, becoming a pop icon is a rare and prestigious achievement that many big names have failed to attain. Michael Jackson, who is often hailed as the King of Pop, was a legendary figure who secured this massive feat.

The man revolutionized the music industry with his talent, and his sense of rhythm and melody made fans groove to his music. His fame and stardom were unrivaled until another massive name came into the picture: none other than Taylor Swift.
However, the fans of the Delicate singer did not go out of their way to prove her popularity, as they respect Mj. Moreover, an old video has surfaced showcasing how Jackson could not escape his stardom even in the deep jungle of the Amazon Rainforest.

Udayraj Pj’s debut feature film, Katu Pootha Malay, is in Tulu, experiments with voice-over narration and visuals, and intertwines both of them to create a structure where logic and meanings are culturally coded. It is a film that mines deep seams of memory to create a hybrid that intrinsically combines documentary-like aesthetics with prose-like narration. How the characters act each time that they have to confront challenges or how they solve their quandaries are not the narrative necessities that the film is interested in dealing with. Instead, we get more of a slice of the on-goings here and there while following the film’s central character, which is the house itself. At times, the scenes rapidly move from one scene or location to another, trying to give us the most teasing bits and pieces to keep us engrossed in the story. The layered storylines of each of the characters...

In the '90s, the "ghost with the most" embarked on his Saturday morning adventures. Able to stand out on its own, the Beetlejuice cartoon allowed for whimsically morbid adventures. As Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice prepares to revive the pesky specter, it posits if the world is ready for an animated revival.
As Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice prepares to manifest in theaters, now's the perfect time for an animated revival of "The Ghost with the Most." After the first movie unleashed the pesky specter on audiences, Beetlejuice managed to steal the show and take it to Saturday mornings. Bridgette Wilson-Sampras, who brought Sonya Blade to life in 1995’s Mortal Kombat and proved the object of Billy Madison’s juvenile affection, has been diagnosed with ovarian cancer.
In a statement, Bridgette Wilson-Sampras’ husband, tennis legend Pete Sampras, wrote, “This past year has been an exceptionally challenging time for my family…Last December, my wife, Bridgette, was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Since then, she has had major surgery, pushed through chemotherapy and continues with targeted maintenance therapy…It is hard to watch someone you love go through a challenge like this. However, seeing our boys step up and be such strong supports of Bridgette, myself and each other has been amazing. Watching Bridgette continue to be an incredible mom and wife through it all has been inspiring.”
That Bridgette Wilson-Sampras was diagnosed nearly one year ago shows just how difficult it must be for her and her family to discuss the topic openly.

Pressman Film is a production company that was founded by Ed Pressman, a prolific producer of over 90 films, including the likes of Wall Street, American Psycho, and The Crow. Sadly, Pressman passed away earlier this year at the age of 79. Now his son Sam Pressman is the CEO of Pressman Film, which recently rebooted The Crow – and landed an eight-figure domestic distribution deal for the film with Lionsgate. Moving forward, the company is working with Antoine Fuqua on a project called The Street, which was written by Goodfellas‘ Nicholas Pileggi, and planning an adaptation of the 1975 Edward Abbey novel The Monkey Wrench Gang, which will be directed by Catfish‘s Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. They’re also trying to figure out how they can exploit titles in the Pressman Film library… and in a recent article, Deadline mentions that endeavor might involve remakes of the 1980 holiday horror film Christmas Evil...

I really loved it more as an art. I remember taking a silent film class in my freshman year of college where we watched the really tough silent documentary Man With a Movie Camera and we studied it as a cultural phenomenon – it was fascinating.”

Batman Begins changed Christopher Nolan's career, leading to him becoming the 21st century's most reliable action director with clever and epic blockbusters. Nolan almost made The Keys to the Street instead of Batman, but dropped out due to its thematic similarity to his previous movies. Directing The Keys to the Street would have established Nolan as a truly provocative director with a dark and hard-r movie, potentially changing the course of his career.
Batman Begins completely changed the course of Christopher Nolan's career, but the movie he almost made instead would have kept him from being the blockbuster action director he's known as today. The 2005 Batman movie was Nolan's first major Hollywood movie, and while the film didn't break box office records, making just $373 million worldwide (via Box Office Mojo), it was overwhelmingly positively received and led to the billion-dollar-grossing The Dark Knight.

Britbox’s flagship drama “Time” is in with a fighting chance at the Emmys this year, potentially giving the upstart streamer its first high-profile success with Emmy voters.
The three-part limited series was created and written by Jimmy McGovern (“Cracker”) and directed by Lewis Arnold (“Broadchurch”), starring Sean Bean (“Game of Thrones”) and Stephen Graham. The series follows family man Mark Cobden (Bean), who is sentenced to four years in prison after accidentally killing a man. Consumed by guilt for his crime, Mark is confronted with navigating his terrifying new life as an inmate, and soon meets Eric McNally (Graham), an upstanding prison officer, who lives to protect the inmates against the odds in an understaffed and volatile modern British penal system. Both Mark and Eric soon come up against one of the most dangerous inmates in the prison, forcing them to make life-or-death choices between principle and survival. After...

Guess who’s back reviewing WWE Raw? Nerdly that’s who! Yes, we’re getting back into regularly reviewing the WWE’s flagship show going forward. Hopefully watching and enjoying and not hate-watching though! Let’s get into the review…
Match #1: Riddle & The Street Profits def. The Usos & Sami Zayn The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
After The Usos defeated Rk-Bro to became the new Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions on SmackDown with the help of Roman Reigns, The Head of the Table and his cousins delivered a nefarious post-match attack on their defeated opponents after the bell. As a result, Riddle returned to Raw out for retribution on The Bloodline for taking an already injured Randy Orton out of action. Before he joined forces with The Street Profits in a Six-Man Tag Team Match against Jimmy & Jey and Sami Zayn, The Original Bro ignited an all-out brawl outside the ring.

Since they were given their heads, the big auteurs of modern TV have been its screenwriters. So “No Return” can be taken various ways. It’s an ITV series from Red Production Company, which has attracted huge heat producing Russell T. Davies’ “It’s a Sin” and “Years and Years.”
It’s sold by Studiocanal, Europe’s biggest film-tv production-distribution powerhouse which owns Red Production Company and is behind the “Paddington” franchise, multiple Liam Neeson hit thrillers and upcoming Western, “Django.”
In production since July, it’s billed as compelling event drama, starring BAFTA award winning actress Sheridan Smith (“Mrs Biggs”).
But it’s also the latest from Danny Brocklehurst, now one of the U.K.’s preeminent screenwriters.
Few have his range or pedigree. After learning his craft from two of the greatest TV voices of working class Britain, Paul Abbott (“Shameless”) and Jimmy McGovern, he wrote half of Harlan Coben...

A revival of MTV’s ’90s dating show classic is coming to Quibi with multihyphenate Hustlers star Keke Palmer and comedian and Sunnyside standout Joel Kim Booster as hosts. The series is set to launch on the short-form mobile video platform in Spring 2020.
Earlier this year, MTV Studios revealed that they were bringing the classic dating show as well as Punk’d to Quibi. The original Singled Out ran from 1995 to 1998 with Chris Hardwick and Jenny McCarthy as hosts. Each episode featured a group of 50 singles competing for a date with one contestant. The new iteration will hook up a new generation of singles, of all genders and sexual preferences, seeking love in 20 bite-sized episodes. Reflective of today’s dating landscape, where everyone is connected, the series will bring online dating to life with a twist — the main dater is linked to the pool of diverse singles through social media.

Filmed over four years, The Street documents the ‘hyper-gentrification’ of Hoxton Street in east London, where locals depend on soup kitchens, £2m penthouses are for sale and you can wash down pie-and-mash with a craft beer
The pie-and-mash shop proprietor gazes out of his window at the craft beer store across the road. Outside the art gallery opening, a soup kitchen serves meals to locals in need. Billboards advertise new luxury apartments with concierge and gym while an old man beds down for the night under the footbridge. The baker closes after 150 years, while a media startup suggests sitting in a bathtub full of coloured balls to improve creativity.

Trailers are an under-appreciated art form insofar that many times they’re seen as vehicles for showing footage, explaining films away, or showing their hand about what moviegoers can expect. Foreign, domestic, independent, big budget: What better way to hone your skills as a thoughtful moviegoer than by deconstructing these little pieces of advertising? This week […]

The nominations for the 2019 British Independent Film Awards have been revealed, and it was a huge morning for Armando Iannucci’s Charles Dickens adaptation “The Personal History of David Copperfield” and Tom Harper’s musical drama “Wild Rose.” “Copperfield” led all movies with 11 nominations, including Best British Indie Film, Best Actor for Dev Patel, and Best Screenplay for Iannucci and co-writer Simon Blackwell. Fox Searchlight has U.S. distribution rights to the movie and has announced a 2020 theatrical release.

Locarno, Switzerland — Originally announced as a movie re-teaming, post “Southpaw,” Antoine Fuqua and Jake Gyllenhaal’s “The Man Who Made It Snow” is now set up at Epix as a limited TV series, Fuqua said Saturday at Locarno Festival, where he will present Denzel Washington-starrer “The Equalizer 2” at the 8,000 seat Piazza Grande, one of the biggest open-air cinemas in Europe.
Inspired by the true story of Max Mermelstein, a Jewish hotel engineer who becomes embroiled unwittingly and then unwillingly in the building billion-dollar U.S. drug trade of Pablo Escobar’s Medellin Cartel, “The Man Who Made It Snow” was originally written by Michael Kingston and Brett Tabor. A new screenwriter is now being brought in to transform the movie into a drama series. Gyllenhaal may or may not be involved, according to his schedule, said Fuqua.

Netflix has released the first trailer for an upcoming new crime thriller called Safe. The series stars Michael C. Hall and he plays a widowed surgeon named Tom Delaney, whose daughter goes missing. The story follows his journey as he goes out looking for her and in the process "begins unearthing dark secrets about the people closest to him in a wealthy gated community."
The series was created by best-selling novelist Harlan Coben (the “Myron Bolitar” novel series) with a screenplay by Danny Brocklehurst. The series also stars Amanda Abbington, Audrey Fleurot, Hannah Arterton, Emmett J. Scanlan, Marc Warren, Nigel Lindsay and Laila Rouass.
I like Michael C. Hall and I've enjoyed the shows that he's made so I'll definitely be checking this new series out. Check out the trailer and let us know if you'll be giving it a shot!

When you look back on your childhood through a rainbow haze of nostalgia and Kool-Aid binges, everything looks pretty darn spectacular. Life was simpler, Saturday morning cartoons were your heaviest commitment, Twizzlers were a lot cheaper, and every movie was super awesome.
How awesome were they, though, when you finally recover from your Kool-Aid hangover? Look, it's tough to rag on kids' movies -- no one wants to be the person to call out adorable anthropomorphic animals. It's not a good look. But we're here to do the hard jobs: To save our children from suffering through some horrible sequels. To save you from watching the same terrible movie 12 times per week with tiny, obsessive humans. To cut through the crap once and for all.

BBC One will air Common, a feature-length film by Cracker creator Jimmy McGovern, on Sunday the 6th of July...
Trailer
It may not have a sci-fi, fantasy or cult bone in its body, but it's tremendous original UK drama and as such, we didn't think you'd mind us sneaking Jimmy McGovern's Common onto the site.
Due to air on BBC One on Sunday the 6th of July, the ninety-minute film tells the story of a teenager dragged into a murder investigation that threatens to upturn his entire life. The cast, as McGovern's casts tend to be, has no weak links, from Game Of Thrones' Michelle Fairley and Robert Pugh to Susan Lynch, Daniel Mays, Jodhi May and relative newcomer Nico Mirallegro.
Here's the first trailer for the feature-length drama from the creator of Cracker, The Street and the terrific Accused.

British acting legend Bob Hoskins has died of pneumonia at the age of 71. Hoskins' agent confirmed to the BBC that he died on Tuesday in hospital, surrounded by family.
With over a hundred credits to his name across film and television, Hoskins announced his retirement from acting in 2012 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. His final films were British comedy "Outside Bet" and big-budget fantasy feature "Snow White and the Huntsmen".
Hoskins will be remembered far more though for his memorable turns in films such as "Who Framed Roger Rabbit," "The Long Good Friday," "Mona Lisa," "The Honorary Consul," "Brazil," "Hook," "Nixon," "The Cotton Club," "Twenty Four Seven," "Super Mario Bros.," "Last Orders," "Mermaids," "Mrs. Henderson Presents," "Unleashed," "Hollywoodland," "Doomsday," "Enemy at the Gates," "The Wall" and TV productions like "Pennies from Heaven," "On the Move," "The Lost World" and "The Street".

I'm hugely saddened to report that Oscar-nominated British actor Bob Hoskins -- the quintessential Cockney gent of latter-day cinema -- has passed away. Aged 71, he died in hospital following a bout of pneumonia. His wife, Linda, and four children issued a statement clarifying that the Londoner "died peacefully at hospital last night surrounded by family," and thanked well-wishers for their "messages of love and support." Hoskins' health had been declining for some time: he retired from acting in 2012 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. His last screen role was in "Snow White and the Huntsman." After supporting roles in such films as "Zulu Dawn" and a BAFTA-nominated turn in Dennis Potter's TV landmark "Pennies From Heaven," Hoskins' film breakthrough came in his late thirties with the role of conflicted East End crime boss Harold Shand in the 1980 gangster classic "The Long Good Friday," which earned him another BAFTA nod.
