FAQ

Futurama: Bender's Big Score

Co-creator Matt Groening originally approached 20th Century Fox with the idea to bring back the show in the form of a direct-to-DVD movie. This later expanded to four movies, of which Bender's Big Score is the first, which will later be chopped up and broadcast as separate episodes with additional scenes.

While the movie does generally stand on its own, and the main characters are introduced again, many of the in-jokes and cameo appearances are much more enjoyable and rewarding to the viewer if they are familiar with the series and its background.

The show is a lot like The Simpsons in the ways that both have always been intended for an older audience with its content and humor. This movie, however, seems to be a little more risque than the series, with adult themes and some relatively violent scenes. There is no actual nudity in the film.

See the Parent's Guide for more information.

The Beast with a Billion Backs is already available on DVD. Bender's Game is coming out November 4th. According to the DVD leaflet, The Green Wild Yonder is due April 2009.
