The story, the songs made the movie a big hit of its time. Bigger movies were expected from the stars - Ronit Roy and Farheen. Sadly, none came.
Jimmy Nirula son took Manik Bedi to his father to the audition of Jaan Tere Naam. They wanted Manik for the film but he would rather work as a production assistant. Manik was not sure about a career as a actor at that point .
Mamta Kulkarni was signed for the film, but later was dropped.
Director Deepak Balraj Vij asked Ronit Roy to lose weight for the film. The director felt Ronit's weight was making him look too mature.
