Image
Before her untimely death on Feb. 26, Michelle Trachtenberg was primarily known for her work in front of the camera on such beloved hits as Harriet the Spy, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Gossip Girl. However, according to producer Casey Tebo, she was so much more than just an accomplished actress. She was, in fact, "an incredible writer," and now he's making it his mission to bring a screenplay she wrote to life.

Speaking with People recently, Tebo said he was presented with Trachtenberg's script, Toy Monster, by her boyfriend, Jay Cohen. "I don't remember when, but my dear friend Jay Cohen sent me a script she had written called Toy Monster," he told the outlet, adding:

"The only scripts I remember staying with me like that in recent memory were two. Here Comes the Flood by Simon Kinberg and Toy Monster around 2019. Because they were the two best, by a landslide.

Check Out Jeremy Allen White's Chilling Horror Movie Directed By Dave Franco Before It Leaves Netflix Later This Month
Image
With The Bear currently in between seasons, those who miss seeing Jeremy Allen White on-screen should check out his 2020 horror movie, The Rental, especially since it's leaving Netflix at the end of the month. White's acting career began in the early 2000s, but he did not truly capture the limelight until he took on the role of Lip in the comedy drama series, Shameless. More recently, White has earned significant buzz for his leading role in The Bear, wherein he plays the intense and passionate chef, Carmen Berzatto. Yet, White's other projects are just as compelling.

Some may be surprised to learn that White boasts a fairly sizable acting resume apart from Shameless and The Bear. He first took to the screen in 2006, appearing in an episode of the legal drama, Conviction, and in the film, Beautiful Ohio. In the intervening years, White earned small parts in dark indie movies,...

A Bones Guest Star Shares A Unique Distinction With David Boreanaz And Emily Deschanel
Image
It is not uncommon for TV stars to direct episodes of the series on which they appear. Alan Alda, Mike Farrell, Harry Morgan and David Ogden Stiers all directed more than one episode of "M*A*S*H;" Peter Bonerz became a prolific director of television shows and films after directing 29 episodes of "The Bob Newhart Show;" and Penny Marshall might never have brought us such big screen classics as "Big" and "A League of Their Own" had she not started out directing on "Laverne & Shirley."

For the directing curious, the set of a long-running television show is a great place to cut one's teeth, so it's no surprise that two members of the Jeffersonian Institute Medico-Legal Lab found their way behind the camera during the 12-season run of "Bones." The most frequent guest in video village was David Boreanaz, who played the hard-charging FBI Agent Seeley Booth. He...

The Bear Cast: Other Roles You've Seen the Actors Play
Image
The Bear is an FX TV show, streaming on Hulu, that centers around a young chef, Carmen, who takes over the family restaurant when his brother dies. Prior to this, he had been a successful chef at a Michelin-starred restaurant in New York City. Returning to Chicago to run the Original Beef of Chicagoland creates a stark contrast between his past and present. Despite his obvious talent as a chef, star Jeremy Allen White – speaking to W Magazine – says that Carmen is “a fish out of water” in this more casual restaurant. This is made worse by kitchen staff who are reluctant to work and family drama that threatens to boil over at any second.

The Bear cast is made up of talented actors, with many who have been on other successful shows. However, they are largely not huge-name stars, so placing these actors in a grimy kitchen setting might make them harder to recognize.

Ray Bradbury, writer who captured a generation of sci-fi fans, dies at 91
Giant of science fiction writing fueled renewed interest in futurist literature with Fahrenheit 451 among scores of other works

Share your favorite Bradbury quotes here

Despite the exhortations of Mr Electrico, a carnival sideshow act with an electrified sword who demanded that a 12-year-old Ray Bradbury "live forever!", one of the most well-loved and highly-regarded modern writers of the fantastic has died.

At 91, though, he left a body of work that might just fulfil the prophecy of that showman in Waukegan, Illinois, in 1932.

One of the most widely read authors of his generation, Bradbury published a string of titles in the early 1950s – The Martian Chronicles, The Illustrated Man and Fahrenheit 451 – that captured the political fears of a generation and fueled renewed interest in futurist literature.

His most famous work, Fahrenheit 451, named for a proposed temperature at which books combust, imagines a golden age of war and ignorance...

Ohio's New License Plate Is "Unique," "Different," Ugly
The state's once-scrapped new plate is outselling its current model 3 to 1.

You can't make this stuff up: In the summer of 2008, the Ohio Bmv unveiled the state's new license plate, a "bucolic, pastel-hued" landscape designed partly by the governor's wife (the windmill was her idea, she says). It's "Beautiful Ohio"--the sun rising in the east over a cartoon barn and the Wright Brothers' plane--can't you just smell the amber waves of grain? Then in May, they decided the plates would be too expensive (too beautiful?), at $2.50 each, to require all drivers to buy. So they put the 1.5 million plates they printed (which cost the state $2.3 million) up for sale as specialty plates that drivers can choose if they want. Well, the people have spoken: The new plates are outselling the old ones by 3 to 1. It's, somehow, a "Cinderella success story," according to the Dayton Daily News:

Like Cinderella, word...
