Former Carsey-Werner senior vp and development chief Kathy Busby has joined New Line Cinema as senior vp production. During her six-year tenure at Carsey-Werner, Busby developed such television series as Whoopi, The Tracy Morgan Show, Game Over and Grounded for Life. She also wrote and directed the short film My Purple Fur Coat, which has screened in more than 10 film festivals and won a prize for best children's short at the Houston Black Film Festival. Busby recently wrapped her second short film, End of Discussion.
