More Festival Dates Announced for The Last Will And Testament of Rosalind Leigh
Six more festival dates have been announced for Rodrigo Gudiño's The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh (review here) along with an appearance by the director in Mexico City! Read on for details.

Rue Morgue Cinema, Raven Banner Entertainment, and Anchor Bay Entertainment are proud to announce the Swedish, Mexican, and Canadian premieres of The Last Will And Testament Of Rosalind Leigh along with three other festival screenings this November. The premieres follow in the wake of a ten-city European festival run in October that saw premieres in Siena, Italy (where the film took the Audience Jury Prize) and the 45th Annual Sitges Fantatic Film Festival, among many others.

Confirmed November screenings with director Gudiño in attendance include:

Stockholm Film Festival, Sweden (Nov 7-18) Swedish premiere

St. Louis International Film Festival, Missouri (Nov 8-18)

The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh Gets Distro
All you fans of Rue Morgue and its founding editor Rodrigo Gudiño will be happy to hear that his feature directorial debut will soon be available as The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh has two companies teaming up to distribute the movie.

Anchor Bay Entertainment Canada and Raven Banner Entertainment are working together to release the film. Look for the picture to drop in early 2013. For more check out the official Facebook page for The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh. We also have the latest trailer for the film below.

Rodrigo Gudino's Feature Debut The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh to Screen at Cannes 2012
Rue Morgue fans, the wait is almost over. Written and directed by the Morgue's Rodrigo Gudino, The Last Will and Testament of Rosalind Leigh has a premiere screening date.

The Cannes Film Festival 2012 will be the place for the screening, with one show on May 19 and another on May 23. The film stars Aaron Poole (Small Town Murder Songs, Gangster Exchange), with Academy Award winner Vanessa Redgrave, Julian Richings (X-Men 3: The Last Stand, Wrong Turn, Cube), Stephen Eric McIntyre (High Life, Fear X, The Lookout), Genie award winner Charlotte Sullivan (Population 436, Defendor, Edwin Boyd: Citizen Gangster) and cult television icon Mitch Markowitz ("The Hilarious House of Frightenstein") rounding out the cast.

Gwyneth Horder-Payton is second of two women directing TV's 'The Walking Dead'
With two women on board as directors for the first season, The Walking Dead could herald a more progressive horror series in more ways than one.

We've been super excited about The Walking Dead here at Fgt, mostly because it means I don't have to go out on Halloween this year because I'm a lazy bitch, and also because the TV horror series will have input from female directors like Michelle Maxwell MacLaren (who also directed the horror film Population 436.) It's been released that MacLaren's episode is the second in the first season.

What's even better news is that episode 3 is directed by another woman - Gwyneth Horder-Payton. Horder-Payton has directed genre TV like Battlestar Galactica (episode "No Exit") and Fringe ("The Equation"). Her episode of Walking Dead is titled "Fresh Meat", while MacLaren's is "Dead Man's Identity".

The Weekly Wrap-Up: March 22-28, 2009
Looking over the news from the week of March 22-28, 2009, quite frankly, not much of it sparked a lot of enthusiasm. But there were a few items that made me go hmmmm, especially compared to the rest. First up is a low, but in an effort to keep things moving in a productive direction, the rest of the list are (cross your fingers) highs.

A chill came to my heart when I saw the chat with screenwriters Stiles White and Juliet Snowden. These people were at least partially responsible for the train wreck known as Knowing (they share credit with Ryne Douglas Pearson and Stuart Hazeldine), and I cannot imagine entrusting such classics as Poltergeist and The Birds to them. On the other hand, if by chance they were involved with scripting the few enjoyable parts of Knowing (i.e., before all parties involved lost control of themselves), then maybe...
