Exclusive: Lauren Gellert, who oversees original programming at WEtv, is leaving the AMC Networks’ cable station.

Deadline understands that Gellert, who was EVP of Development and Original Programming, is leaving after more than ten years at the network, which is known for series such as Bridezillas, Growing Up Hip Hop and Life After Lockup.

Gellert is leaving to pursue new opportunities.

She was responsible for the network’s reality slate, particularly its Thursday and Friday nights, where Marriage Boot Camp, Growing Up Hip Hop and Love After Lockup helped it become the number one cable network for Black women on both nights.

The network also moved into documentaries with the likes of Power, Influence and Hip-Hop, which traces the rise of Jermaine Dupri and his record label So So Def and Untold Stories of Hip Hop, hosted by radio personality Angie Martinez.

“Marriage Boot Camp” is one of the places couples turn to for help. WeTV calls it “the most extreme relationship therapy boot camp,” and you better believe it. The show brings together couples having troubles in their relationship — under the same roof — and makes them go through some exercises with help and guidance from in-house experts, Judge Lynn Toler, Dr. Ish Major, and Dr. Venus Nicolino. In the end, some of these relationships are salvageable, and others are not.

The reality TV show, which recently concluded its 19th season, is quite popular among Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers and ranks 481 among the most popular contemporary TV shows, according to a rating by YouGovAmerica.

AMC Networks plans to launch two ad-supported streaming outlets on Samsung TV Plus, the appliance-maker’s video service for smart TV sets.

One channel, AMC Presents, will let viewers look at episodes of popular AMC Networks series, including “The Walking Dead,” “Turn,” “Halt and Catch Fire,” “Rectify,” “Making of the Mob,” “Into the Badlands” and others. The other, Absolute Reality by WEtv, focuses on reality programs such as “Bridezillas,” “Kendra on Top,” “Joan & Melissa,” “LA Hair,” “Mary Mary,” “Platinum Weddings” and others.

Both new channels are available today, and the company plans to launch others for Samsung TV Plus in 2021. AMC has launched similar channels for streaming services operated by Pluto, IMDb and Dish’s Sling.

Marc Juris, president and general manager of We tv, is stepping down at the end of the year, parent company AMC Networks announced Wednesday.

Juris’ exit comes after a seven-year tenure leading the network, a period that saw the launch of several important We tv franchises including “Marriage Boot Camp” and “Love After Lockup,” the latter of which recently had its highest-rated premiere in series history.

AMC Networks has not yet named a replacement for Juris.

“My years at AMC Networks have been among the most rewarding and fulfilling of my entire career. This is a company that has always had an outsized impact by taking chances and having the confidence to make big moves and that has become part of my professional DNA,” Juris said in a statement. “I’m thankful for our talented team and very proud of the shows we’ve made and the relationships we have forged with viewers.

“The Walking Dead” franchise is getting another free outlet: AMC Networks inked a deal with Amazon’s IMDb TV to add six channels to its “live” lineup on the free, ad-supported streaming service.

Two AMC channels already have launched on IMDb TV: The Walking Dead Universe Experience — which includes select past episodes of the original zombie show and its spinoffs — and AMC: Presents. In the next few months, IMDb TV will add four additional channels from the basic cabler to the “watch live” linear selection: Absolute Reality by We tv, Rush by AMC, IFC Films Picks, and Slightly Off by IFC.

The Walking Dead Universe Experience channel is exclusive to IMDb TV (with some content not available anywhere else), but the others are not. Earlier this year, the programmer signed a similar deal for “The Walking Dead” and other shows with ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV free-streaming linear service.

BBC America‘s “Killing Eve,” has welcomed three new cast members for its sophomore season. Newcomers Nina Sosanya, Edward Bluemel, and Julian Barratt will join returning cast members Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, and Fiona Shaw for Season 2. Sosanya and Bluemel have been cast as series regulars, while Barratt will guest star.

Season 2 of the Starz drama “Vida” has added two new cast members. “Looking’s” Raul Castillo and “Superstore’s” Adrian Gonzalez will join original stars Melissa Barrera and Mishel Prada in recurring roles. Gonzalez will play Rudy, described as an L.A. city councilman who Lyn meets at a gym class, while Castillo will play Baco, the bar’s new handyman with a questionable past.

When Netflix announced last year that it would revive “Queer Eye,” the hit reality makeover show from a decade ago, the internet responded with a resounding “why?”

“The rights came back,” David Collins, co-creator and executive producer of “Queer Eye” said Tuesday night. The show, he explained, was “available for us to take out again.”

Collins appeared at a panel discussion hosted by Hrts, where he was joined by other unscripted producers and executives — as well as moderator Scott Hervey — to discuss the phenomena of rebooting successful reality franchises.

Exclusive: NBC already has a series set behind the scenes of a sketch comedy show in Emmy-winning comedy 30 Rock. Now the network is looking to pull back the veil on the inner workings of reality series. NBC has bought American Dream, an hourlong spec written by Paul Kolsby and executive produced by Law & Order: Svu star Mariska Hargitay, feature producer Andrew Lazar and Steve Shainberg. Shainberg, director of the 2002 feature Secretary, is also attached to direct the potential pilot. American Dream is described as a bitingly funny, risque and sophisticated melodrama about the symbiotic relationship between network executives and the “talent” in a reality television series. Kolsby, a playwright and screenwriter, had a lot of personal experience to draw on in writing the American Dream — he has worked as a producer on a number of reality series, including Jersey Shore and Bridezillas. Former September Films executive Jeff Collins is starting a production company with London-based Contentfilm.

Collins made a five-year partnership agreement with Contentfilm's television distribution arm Fireworks International. Under the agreement, Contentfilm will invest in Collins' production house, Collins Avenue, in exchange for an equity stake and acting as international distributor.

For the past few years, Collins oversaw the U.S. office of September Films and has served as showrunner on We's "BrideZillas," VH1's " I Know My Kid's a Star" and Lifetime's "How Clean Is Your House?"

"After a decade of running shows and companies for other people, it's time I take the reins," Collins said. "U.S. reality programming is getting stronger as the demand for great reality ideas increases in the domestic market alongside a growing appetite in international markets."
