Your browser does not support the video tag. Reality shows are often accused of being fake, but some, like "Survivorman" and "The Last Alaskans," offer authentic portrayals of life. While shows like "The Great British Bake Off" aim for honesty, others like "Bridezillas" have faced criticism for misleading participants. Even though beloved reality TV shows like "Queer Eye" and "The Voice" have faced accusations of being partially staged, they still draw in viewers with their heartwarming content.
For the last 20 years, reality shows have progressively taken up more space on small screens, including The Real Housewives franchise, but some of them seem fake. Since there are so many willing participants and relatively low production costs, networks embraced the new format. Reality television is also shaping the way that viewers perceive the world, influencing politics and popular opinions.

Relationships are a mixture of moments of bliss, happiness, tears, and fights. Sometimes couples go all the way, and other times they end in divorce. What happens when divorce looms? Where do the couples turn to?
“Marriage Boot Camp” is one of the places couples turn to for help. WeTV calls it “the most extreme relationship therapy boot camp,” and you better believe it. The show brings together couples having troubles in their relationship — under the same roof — and makes them go through some exercises with help and guidance from in-house experts, Judge Lynn Toler, Dr. Ish Major, and Dr. Venus Nicolino. In the end, some of these relationships are salvageable, and others are not.
The reality TV show, which recently concluded its 19th season, is quite popular among Millennials, Gen X, and Baby Boomers and ranks 481 among the most popular contemporary TV shows, according to a rating by YouGovAmerica.

Marc Juris is stepping down as President and General Manager of We tv. He will leave the AMC network at the end of the year after seven years in the job. There is no immediate replacement.
“We first worked with Marc many years ago, when he was running original programming for an early version of AMC and then became the general manager who took the network from ad-free to ad-supported, a move that fueled much of the growth and distinction that was to follow,” said Josh Sapan, president and chief executive officer of AMC Networks. “His keen eye for brands and for compelling content have been demonstrated here and elsewhere. “The Walking Dead” franchise is getting another free outlet: AMC Networks inked a deal with Amazon’s IMDb TV to add six channels to its “live” lineup on the free, ad-supported streaming service.
Two AMC channels already have launched on IMDb TV: The Walking Dead Universe Experience — which includes select past episodes of the original zombie show and its spinoffs — and AMC: Presents. In the next few months, IMDb TV will add four additional channels from the basic cabler to the “watch live” linear selection: Absolute Reality by We tv, Rush by AMC, IFC Films Picks, and Slightly Off by IFC.
The Walking Dead Universe Experience channel is exclusive to IMDb TV (with some content not available anywhere else), but the others are not. Earlier this year, the programmer signed a similar deal for “The Walking Dead” and other shows with ViacomCBS’s Pluto TV free-streaming linear service.

Watch an exclusive clip from this week’s Bridezillas on We tv — as ‘vain’ bride Kat can’t find a dress she likes no matter what it looks like! The 31-year-old is starting to panic over the fact she doesn’t have a dress for her big day, but despite trying on all sorts of different styles nothing quite meets the mark…in her eyes at least. She initially tries on a dress with a big, full skirt but says it’s too “puffy” and doesn’t show off her boobs enough. Her mom is left beside herself as Kat then tries on a closer-fitting […]

We tv's Bridezillas has introduced us to many a worrisome wife-to-be over the past 10-plus seasons… but no one quite like Veronica. As we saw when Season 11 returned on June 1, this 32-year-old is set to marry a 25-year-old man named Jesse. But this so-called "Runaway Zilla" has left multiple fiancés at the altar, so to speak. Her and Jesse's story continues on Bridezillas' June 8 episode, so we don't yet know if they made it down the aisle. And honestly, we'd be surprised if we learned they're still together! "Him proposing to me was an absolute shock, and I called him crazy and stupid for doing it," Veronica said on the show, as Jesse nervously listened on. "Like, I wouldn't want to marry me … As soon as that music cues for me to walk out, I see myself like, 'No, no, no, no,' and then turn around. I've run away from multiple engagements before.

A bride's worst nightmare came true for Kat on Bridezillas after her wedding dress got lost just three days before she was supposed to walk down the aisle. Kat found herself on the hunt for a perfect gown (again) with her mom, and the blonde beauty unsurprisingly reached her breaking point at the bridal shop. "I have so many other things I'm supposed to be doing right now and I'm in a dress shop because my dress is lost," she tells her mom in an exclusive clip obtained by Life & Style. "I can't even look in the mirror and feel good in a dress right now because I have so many things I need to do." Kat also refused to wear the dress intended for her reception at the ceremony, because, you know, fashion. "Can everyone just leave me alone?" the 31-year-old asks before breaking down in tears in the fitting room.

With the shocking reality of breastfeeding into childhood becoming a more common practice, a new reality show investigates attachment parenting and other bizarre parental behaviors that are strongly-debated among families and professionals. After Jamie Lynne Grumet stunned the nation with her Time magazine cover, which featured her four-year-old son latched to her breast, the controversial practices of extreme parenting have been launched into the forefront of family and psychological discussions. A new reality show investigates these parents, and shines a light on why more moms and celebrities are embracing the trend. Extreme Parenting will look at arguments for and against over-protective practices such as attachment parenting, and why some parents choose to not embrace the idea of independence for their children. The show, which is created by the team behind Bridezillas and Dance Moms, will follow American families as they defend their decision to engage in over-the-top behaviors when it comes to child rearing.

Now the network is looking to pull back the veil on the inner workings of reality series. Shainberg, director of the 2002 feature Secretary, is also attached to direct the potential pilot. American Dream is described as a bitingly funny, risque and sophisticated melodrama about the symbiotic relationship between network executives and the “talent” in a reality television series. Kolsby, a playwright and screenwriter, had a lot of personal experience to draw on in writing the American Dream — he has worked as a producer on a number of reality series, including Jersey Shore and Bridezillas. Former September Films executive Jeff Collins is starting a production company with London-based Contentfilm.
Collins made a five-year partnership agreement with Contentfilm's television distribution arm Fireworks International. Under the agreement, Contentfilm will invest in Collins' production house, Collins Avenue, in exchange for an equity stake and acting as international distributor.
For the past few years, Collins oversaw the U.S. office of September Films and has served as showrunner on We's "BrideZillas," VH1's " I Know My Kid's a Star" and Lifetime's "How Clean Is Your House?"
"After a decade of running shows and companies for other people, it's time I take the reins," Collins said. "U.S. reality programming is getting stronger as the demand for great reality ideas increases in the domestic market alongside a growing appetite in international markets."
Collins is repped by Apa.
