Coming after The Rookie: Feds' cancellation, the project would be the next spinoff for the popular police procedural. It's currently titled The Rookie North, with franchise creator Alexi Hawley writing the pilot script.
The Rookie North is not yet picked up. After the pilot is filmed and edited, it will be shown to ABC. The network will then decide whether it wants to move forward with the series or pass on it. But in new comments, the franchise creator offered a window into filming plans.

Ross Harris is honoring his cousin Liam Payne with a new song. On Sunday, the musician released “Bones,” a track he wrote in tribute to Payne about the difficulties of dealing with grief.
“I’ve been back and forth about releasing this song a dozen times. It’s the most personal thing I’ve ever written – which made the idea of releasing it absolutely terrifying,” Harris wrote on Instagram. “After my cousin passed on October 16th, writing this song (with the extremely talented Jordan Round) gave me an outlet for my grief.

After the success of his "Lord of the Rings" movies, director Peter Jackson could do no wrong. He was beloved by the Hollywood establishment, beloved by the Academy, and beloved by fantasy nerds the world over. His "Rings" movies were phenomenal productions, telling an epic story that took a trio of three-hour movies to cover, and Jackson was rewarded with geek world canonization and permission to make whatever dream movie he wanted. So, he followed "Lord of the Rings" with a slick, expensive, and utterly self-indulgent remake of "King Kong," a $207 million, 187-minute spectacular featuring cinema's favorite giant ape.

213 Bones is a retro-styled slasher – a deliberate throwback to the golden age of late-’90s horror, evoking films like Scream and I Know What You Did Last Summer. Set in the decade itself, the story follows a group of anthropology students preparing for exams, only to find themselves hunted by a masked killer. Alongside their professor, local authorities, and a handful of side characters, the dwindling group must try to uncover the truth before they end up the next victims.

The Hart Hanson series Boneshas a very dedicated fan base. Premiering in 2005, the procedural introduced audiences to Temperance Brennan, played by Emily Deschanel. The character is an anthropologist, forensic anthropologist, and kinesiologist and...well, dedicated to bones. Get it? Her relationship with Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) captivated fans and earned the series a 12-year run, ending in 2017. Now, all these years later, fans still love hearing stories about the cast. When the cast reunited for the Bones: 20th Anniversary Retrospective panel, at the Televerse Festival, we learned a lot about on-set pranks.
During the panel, Boreanaz began to reveal some of the pranks the cast used to all do together.

Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz worked together for 12 years on "Bones," which might make you think they're absolutely sick of each other. On the contrary, the two stars of Fox's offbeat procedural, who played Temperance "Bones" Brennan and Agent Seeley Booth, respectively, remained friends throughout the show and have continued to do so in the years since. Much of that is down to Deschanel and Boreanaz adhering to one condition throughout their time on the series, whereby they essentially gave each other permission to walk away without warning if they started getting on the other one's nerves.
Luckily, that seems to have been a rare occurrence, with the pair clearly...

The title may sound rather random, but 213 bones is the total amount of bones in the adult human skeleton – some theorise it is actually anywhere between 206 – 214, but that’s a bone of contention we don’t have to worry about today.

It's been said many times before, but it bears repeating, especially for easily triggered hardcore fans: To keep a long-running series fresh for writers, cast members, and viewers, producers/showrunners need to shake things up, and this occasionally means writing out a popular character. Sometimes, they've no choice in the matter. McLean Stevenson and Wayne Rogers both left "M*A*S*H" after its fourth season because they felt they'd outgrown their characters (the former wrongly believed he was on the cusp of television stardom). Shelley Long bolted "Cheers" after the hit sitcom's fifth season to launch a semi-successful movie career.
And sometimes it's just good storytelling to take a beloved character in a wholly unexpected direction, which is exactly what Hart Hanson and the "Bones" creative team did with the Jeffersonian Institute's oddly endearing uber-nerd Zack Addy, played by Eric Millegan. Obviously, this was still fairly early in the show's 12-season run,...

David Boreanaz was celebrating the 20th anniversary of Bones at a recent event when he told a story about Betty White, who appeared as a guest star in 2015. “Emily (Deschanel) and I are waiting for her,” he remembered, per People. “And she’s like, ‘Good to see you. Oh, good to see you. You’re so nice. You’re so pretty.’ She goes up to Emily — ‘Oh, you’re so pretty.’”
Her reaction to Boreanaz had a different flavor. “She looks at me, she goes, ‘Holy shit, I want to fuck you.’”
Boreanaz burst out laughing, the usual reaction White got when she delivered a dirty line in her sweet grandma voice. Here are seven more times White broke up audiences by delivering naughty jokes…

The anime adaptation of Gachiakuta has been incredibly accurate to the manga, in terms of the plot and visuals, and Episode 6 takes it a bit too literally with the black-and-white pencil artwork for Rudo’s memories of Regto. However, as an anime, it should utilize vibrant colors more.
This isn’t the first or last time the anime adaptation has implemented this art style into its episodes. However, Gachiakuta doesn’t need to repeat what the manga has already done. As thrilling as the series is, it needs to offer something unique to the franchise.
Gachiakuta’s world and power systems are what set it apart. If the anime could make them pop with color, rather than emulating the black-and-white manga panels, it would have a distinct personality of its own.

Ah, "Buffy." Just saying the word conjures up all sorts of images for people: the glory days of the 1990s and the glory days of The WB, those lazy days being a kid sitting at home wishing you could be like those cool kids on television who save their school from monsters. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" -- the television adaptation of the ill-fated 1992 film -- premiered in 1997 and ran for seven seasons, and pop culture was never the same.
The show followed Buffy Summers, a normal teenager who learns that she is her generation's "Slayer," a once-in-a-lifetime person who can beat the encroaching hordes of evil. Sunnydale, California, was located on top of a Hellmouth, meaning there were all sorts of supernatural bad guys for Buffy Summers to slay ... or to fall in love with. Sad news today as it’s been reported that Lorna Raver, who terrified audiences as Mrs. Ganush in Sam Raimi’s Drag Me to Hell, is dead at the age of 81. Raver died on May 12, but news of her passing wasn’t revealed until it was included in the “In Memoriam” section of SAG-AFTRA’s Summer 2025 magazine edition.
In a statement to the New York Post, her representative said, “She will now fly in Heaven, not be dragged to Hell. She was an incredible lady and artist. A true chameleon, the complete opposite of this character in real life.“

Lorna Raver, who chillingly portrayed the elderly woman who plants a curse on Allison Lohman’s bank executive to set the horror in motion in the Sam Raimi-directed Drag Me to Hell, has died. She was 81.
Raver’s death on May 12 was revealed in the “In Memoriam” section of SAG-AFTRA’s Summer 2025 magazine edition.
On television, the stage-trained Raver took over for Millie Perkins to play the concentration camp survivor Rebecca Kaplan (and mother of Brad Carlton) who comes out of hiding on the CBS soap The Young and the Restless from 2006-07.
After two Evil Dead movies and three Spider-Man films, Raimi returned to horror by co-writing and directing Drag Me to Hell (2009). The Universal film premiered at Cannes and was a critical and commercial hit, grossing $90.8 million worldwide on a budget of about $30 million.

Spoiler Alert !!!Major spoilers ahead for Episode 5 of Gachiakuta!
The snail’s pace at which the anime for Gachiakuta is taking is making me impatient. The showcase of Zanka’s powers wasn’t enough to satiate me. It’s showing you too much, while executing very little in each episode. Just as I thought Jabber Wonger would come out of the shadows, he remained in it. Episode 5 mobilized his plan, but all I could think of was that I wanted to see more.
The first half of Episode 5 also felt more like filler content. It balanced wholesome humor with action brilliantly, but it fell short of being as intense as I had imagined. Gachiakuta doesn’t have to be an exact adaptation of the manga’s events, but the anime forgets it has room for some creative liberty.

Since 2005, "Grey's Anatomy" has captivated an astoundingly broad and enduring audience that can't be denied. Despite its seemingly restrictive setting and genre, it has something to offer everyone -- those thrilled by the functions of a busy hospital; fans of melodramatic reveals and romances, as well as those invested in mature relationships; and especially those who want hundreds of high-quality episodes to keep them company as they grow into the next season of their life.
And yet, despite how culturally relevant the series has remained for over two decades, it's this unique combination of subgenres and styles that makes "Grey's Anatomy" one of the more difficult shows for us to offer recommendations for. Sure, it would be easy enough to toss out 15 of the most popular medical procedurals out there and call it a day -- but we know we can do better. As such, we've gathered a mix of twisty,...

When Justin Baldoni proposed to Emily Baldoni in 2012, he didn’t just get down on one knee; he created what he called his “first movie,” a 27-minute romantic short film packed with flash mobs and tributes.
The elaborate proposal, which took place at Blu Jam Cafe in Los Angeles (where the couple had their first date), has recently resurfaced online amid legal controversies involving Baldoni and actress Blake Lively. But beyond the headlines, the proposal video stands out as a bizarre, and admittedly over-the-top, gesture of love.
Watch the video here:
The production began with Baldoni renting out the cafe, convincing Emily he was running late, and then surprising her with a video that played at their candle-lit table. The video opened with Baldoni explaining he wanted to do something special before arriving.
From there, it morphed into a series of humorous and touching scenes, including him lip-syncing to romantic songs,...

Like any other long-running show, Fox's "Bones" has its share of things that don't make sense, as well as episodes everyone should watch at least once. And like any other long-running show, it also took a while to find its feet and become the best possible version of itself. Part of this involved setting up the perfect core cast around clear main characters Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz). While many components were in place early, some people -- including me -- might argue that the show only truly came to its own when Tamara Taylor's Cam Saroyan and John Francis Daley's Lance Sweets found their places among the main cast.
Another thing, of course, was knowing which characters to keep in the roster. Case in point: the aforementioned Cam. During a 2012 panel discussion with the show's stars (via IGN), "Bones" creator Hart Hanson...

By all accounts, David Boreanaz had a ball on "Bones." The actor played FBI special agent Seeley Booth opposite Emily Deschanel's Temperance "Bones" Brennan for all 12 seasons of the hit Fox procedural, and seemed to enjoy himself throughout. In fact both Boreanaz and Deschanel have spoken very positively about their time on the show, to the extent that it's only fueled anticipation for the long-awaited "Bones" revival.
But that doesn't mean there weren't some tough moments. When your show is on the air for 12 years, there's bound to be some low points, like when a sexual harassament lawsuit was filed against Boreanaz. What's more, as positive as the Seeley Booth actor has sounded in the years since "Bones" went off the air in 2017, he also hasn't been shy about sharing his opinions of when the series didn't quite hit the mark. Some of the gripes voiced by Boreanaz have been minor,...

Bones and All star Taylor Russell has exited Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. The project is a modern reimagination of the 1999 Pierce Brosnan-led romantic heist movie. The upcoming movie is directed by Michael B. Jordan, who also stars in the movie as the lead. Russell was set to feature as a co-lead opposite Jordan.
Her departure, reportedly due to creative differences, comes just as production ramps up in London. Fans were eager to see her bring a fresh take to the iconic role once played by Rene Russo and Faye Dunaway. However, Russell appears to be walking away with zero regrets and a slate of major projects already underway.

Over the course of eight seasons, the Fox procedural Bones cemented itself as a highly bingeable show with a satisfying ending. The series starred Emily Deschanel and David Boreanaz as Dr. Temperance Brennan and Special Agent Seely Booth. Recently, Deschanel looked back on her somewhat grueling experience on the inaugural season of the crime drama. She recently was a guest on David Duchovny’s Fail Better podcast. She says that she felt “overwhelmed” due to the schedule. She explains:
“We were working insane hours, longer than just a normal series. You’re working 14- to 16-hour days, and then I had to memorize the lines. So I’d be staying up late night memorizing lines. I would joke that I would go home and just cry in a bathtub every night because I was just so overwhelmed.”

We’ve all witnessed inconsistencies on our favorite TV shows, something out of the ordinary that just doesn’t match what we knew about them before. We’re talking betrayals to the character and, really, the audience’s commitment. But David Duchovny wouldn’t stand for anything like this when making The X-Files, calling out the showrunners any time he felt they weren’t being true to Moulder.
On his Fail Better podcast (via EW), David Duchovny noted that such inconsistencies are a true problem, saying, “It was a bit of a pet peeve of mine when I was doing X-Files — not so much the other shows that I’ve done — but, as with Bones, it’s episodic, but every episode is pretty high drama. It can be life and death.”
Despite The X-Files relying on sci-fi and the supernatural, David Duchovny knew that was no excuse to not stick to basic logic.

The popular crime drama Bones ran for so long that the first season may seem like a distant memory, but its lead star remembers it clearly because it was such a difficult time in her career. Bones follows Dr. Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel), who is paired up to work with FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).
The two are tasked with cases where the skills of a forensic anthropologist are needed, as the remains of the victims are often only bones, hence Booth nicknames Brennan "Bones." The two main Bones characters' dynamic became beloved; they are also the stars of an extended will-they-won't-they plot, before the characters get together in Bones season 6.
Series lead Emily Deschanel recently spoke with David Duchovny on his podcast Fail Better and revealed that the first season of Bones was very hard on her, due to long work hours and challenges learning the vocabulary of her character's profession.

Bones aired on Fox for 12 seasons and 246 episodes between 2005 and 2017. The police procedural series was based on forensic anthropology and forensic archaeology, as they investigated crimes with the FBI.
The series was extremely popular, starring Emily Deschanel as Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel's David Boreanaz as FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth. As the series was filled with gruesome murders, it was also extremely dialogue-heavy, filled with intricate technical jargon from different science fields. Speaking to The X Files' David Duchovny in a recent episode of the podcast Fail Better, Deschanel revealed she was struggling emotionally and professionally when filming Bones Season 1.
The actress opened up about her diagnosis of Adhd and dyslexia, and how it affected her career, as well as her early difficulties with the hit series. Speaking about the first season struggle around the 20:30 mark, the actress explained she struggled with the dialogue.

Emily Deschanel says she came close to losing her lead role on “Bones” after panic attacks and a single late arrival during the show’s first season, speaking on David Duchovny’s “Fail Better” podcast released this week. She recalled the studio labeling her “late and unprepared,” a critique that left her “beside myself” and filled with shame.
Long 14- to 16-hour days, little sleep and dense medical jargon compounded the pressure, especially because she lives with Adhd and dyslexia. Deschanel said she would go home and “cry in a bathtub every night,” unaware the tightness in her chest were panic attacks. A traffic delay that made her 30 minutes late prompted creator Hart Hanson to warn that executives were questioning her professionalism, pushing her to vow never to be late again.
Hanson and co-star David Boreanaz arranged a larger trailer, quieter rehearsal space and a line coach—changes Deschanel credits with restoring her confidence.

“Bones” star Emily Deschanel nearly broke down in tears as she recalled the time she almost was fired while filming the show’s first season because the series’ strenuous work schedule led her to have panic attacks.
“I didn’t know I was having panic attacks, but I was basically having panic attacks at the time,” Deschanel, who played Temperance “Bones” Brennan in the Fox series, told David Duchovny on his podcast “Fail Better with David Duchovny,” a series that spotlights how failures shape a person’s personal and professional trajectory.
As she explained the root of her panic attacks, the actress shared that filming the first scene was insanely difficult because of its brutal schedule and tight turnarounds for actors.
“We were working insane hours, longer than just a normal series. You’re working 14- to 16-hour days, and then I had to memorize the lines,” Deschanel explained. “So...

Alien: Earth creator Noah Hawley has revealed one of their inspirations for the upcoming FX prequel series. In the first Alien show, Don’t Worry Darling’s Sydney Chandler will be leading the cast as Wendy, who will be introduced as a hybrid robot.
During a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Hawley confirmed that elements of the iconic Peter Pan story inspired the main characters of Alien: Earth, revealing that the show will be calling them as Lost Boys. “I had this Peter Pan idea, and I thought, Well, where in the first two movies is any of this?” He explained. “In James Cameron’s movie, you have Newt, who’s an actual child, and then you have Bill Paxton’s character, who’s arguably the most childish character in the history of movies: ‘Game over, man!’ You have this confluence of this adult acting like a child, and this child...
