Amrita Singh openly called Shukriya the worst film for her career.
The film was first announced in 1982. Padmini Kholapure was to be the heroine. But she had problems with Kailash Chopra and her price. Then she broke up with Rajiv Kapoor and decided not to do the film.
This film was followed after Shaka, both films were from Prem Chopra's home production
Rajiv Kapoor saw the rush's of the film Betaab and recommended her name to the producer. Prem Chopra had worked Amrita Singh in Betaab and thought she was a great talent. Prem's brother Kailash was producing Shukriyaa and Prem told his brother that Amrita would be a great for the film.
