    Livia Millhagen is excellent company

I was very surprised to read the two previous reviews. My experience was totally different. I found Ylva, played beautifully by the very attractive Livia Millhagen, excellent company. Her expressive face lent a continuous subtext to the performance. She got my attention. Also, the bus trip itself made for some really great views, especially of Northern Italy. Ylva displayed honest and believable reactions to people in her life: The unfaithful husband, her beloved kids, the teenagers and Marianne, the unhappy doctor, who ends up in Italy – and many more. I also appreciated the structured format of the movie. With clear delineations of the duration of the trip. Watch this delightful movie and see where Ylva ends up. Recommended.

    Like a bad cover

As a swede I quickly got bored by the stupid clichés about how swedes are and how they're seen abroad. Another stupid movie kicking in open doors. And mostly I'm bored because this movie (and I guess the script) has absolutely nothing to tell. What's the point of doing a movie if you really don't care? We'll make a As it is in heaven (which already is a bad movie) - copy the idea and make it even worse. Most irritating is probably the fact that there's so much talent out there, people that never get the chance and when you're in the movie business, you can just make any kind of lame crap with absolutely no intentions and fire - and get away with it. Crap that you'd never succeed with if you're on the outside of business, and trying to get in. Lame ass script and a director who doesn't care.

    No Good

It's a story about two boys who enters a choir to get a free trip to Italy.

It is also about Ylva (Livia Millhagen) who is not satisfied with her relationship back home.

The two young boys would like to cheer her up.

The rest of the characters also discover new sides of them selfness.

This film didn't give me any satisfaction at all.

There could be so much to do about this story, but nothing happens.

A fun trivia is that it is the actual mayer for the city they visit that appear as the mayer in the movie.

    Getting away from everyday life.

In "Bus to Italy" Livia Millhagen stars as the church choir leader Ylva. The choir is preparing for their bus trip to Domodossola, Italy. While being there the plan is to do a choir performance.

Ylva is, quite unhappily, married. She seeks more joy and pleasure in her life. She is also the narrator in this movie. And through that we learn a bit more about some of the choir members. For example we meet Ylvas friend Ia who is a curious person, the very lonely Marianne, the quite impolite teacher Lillemor and the two out-spoken teenagers Erik and Ruben. And what do all of these characters have in common? My answer would be that all of them are trying to get away from the everyday life.

More of the Italian culture, for example the food and the language, would have been nice in this movie. But all in all I liked "Bus to Italy".
